I contacted McCluskey Contracting to replace our old wood post retaining wall on the side of our driveway. I didn't know much about retaining walls, but after taking the advice of Matt McCluskey, our final project result was outstanding. Matt recommended style and color and layout, and not only is our new wall amazing-looking, but we also reclaimed some driveway space as a result of the new shape. And if that wasn't enough, they also put down new mulch and edged the entire mulch bed at the same time. I will use them again and I completely recommend Matt and crew. thanks Matt!

Hired McCluskey Contracting for a large retaining wall, concrete stairs and large driveway.

Considering the size of the job, it was finished extremely fast! As far as the quality of the work, it’s outstanding. Looks great. Completely changed the look of my house. Every neighbor on the street drives by giving a compliment. And the professionalism of these folks is just as great as the work done.

Very reliable to provide great work. As someone who works in the construction industry also, I have been with companies who keep costs down at the sacrifice of the customer. There's some who also put quantity over quality. Mccluskey Contracting is NOT one of them, they don't cut corners. They took the time necessary to make sure everything was done right while also working hard to keep things moving along. They take care of all the details and provide creative designs and aesthetics that you can see on their advertising links.

Matt came out to give me an estimate on Friday, Valentine's Day. His price was fair enough to hire him on the spot. I really was not in a big hurry and told him I could wait for a bit if he was busy. The next morning his crew was out there digging away!! By late afternoon the project was completed. I'm so impressed with the prompt and very professional way McCluskey Contracting does business. The sidewalk looks great! This is definitely my go-to company for my next project and I'd recommend them highly.

I can't say enough about the quality of work at a large project (driveway, 2 sets of steps, several smaller retaining walls, lights etc.) at my house. It defiantly exceeded my expectations. Working with Matt his sister Jamie and brother Mony along with Joe and Luke as well as the various subcontractors was a pleasure and it was fun. I am not going to put any photo's as I believe they will post on Facebook. Great project and good people. Do not hesitate.

In early summer 2023, we invited Matt McCluskey to our home to discuss a new concrete driveway. Matt came to our home three times as the project expanded to retaining walls, replacing an entire bowed garage wall, a french drain and eventually a new sidewalk. Today his team (brother Monte, sister Jamie, friends Luke and Joe) finished all of those projects ... and stepped in to help us fix a clogged sump pump pipe by digging out the old pipe, installing new graded pipe and cementing the basement.

If you have a multiple project list like this, you should absolutely hire McCluskey Contracting LLC for four reasons. First, their skills run the gamut of all of these needs (and more). Second, they show up every day on time, are happy with customer input, their work ethic is superior and they all help each other out on the job. Third, they are well connected to other skilled contractors (we had a tree removal person, a carpenter and a bricklayer that Matt invited to help on special aspects). Finally, Matt is fair about the team's pricing, pays his people fairly and all of them take care of any extra needs that may pop up (like rewiring the outside lamp post right next to the new stairs).

We are very blessed to have found Matt, Monte, Jamie, Luke and Joe, and the others they brought to our home to pitch in, as our home is now transformed on the outside!!!

I could not be happier with the work Matt and his team did at our house! Matt poured new concrete sidewalk along the side of our house and connected it to our driveway, removed and replaced another patio/pad of concrete. Another company started the project but could not complete it. Within 4 days of work, Matt and his team rebuilt all the framing for the concrete, poured gravel, did all the prep work, poured the concrete, planted new grass seed and cleaned up! It is so hard to find reliable contractors and I am beyond grateful to have found this company. The concrete work looks AMAZING, top notch attention to detail, very high quality of work. Professional in every aspect! The price was very reasonable, all things considered! Absolutely recommend and would be happy to work with them again in the future.

Matt and his team were absolutely fantastic. Matt came out and did a same day estimate. They got us on their calendar quickly and did a fantastic job pouring a concrete patio underneath our deck. It looks great and we couldn't be happier with their work and professionalism. They even made sure to make a space for our kids to put their handprints in the cement!

Their cleanup of the space was great and they were back the next morning to put down topsoil and seed and continue the final cleanup.

I can’t thank Matt and his whole crew enough for their quick response and expertise in constructing my new retaining wall. It looks so awesome and greatly adds to the appearance of my home and property!!!

I'm very happy with the results of the concrete work performed by Matt and his crew. The work consisted of removing my asphalt driveway and replacing it with concrete. The crew was very professional and respectful of all my concerns. I would highly recommend McClusky to anyone considering a project like mine.

It started off great! Got the quote and Matt came out the next day to get everything dug out before we got our fence re-built.

The yard was excavated, and the gravel and forms were laid. We gave instructions to go off of our old gate so he formed around it, knowingly that it was 18” crooked and off center. We had no idea it would be crooked. So instead of letting us know that it would be crooked from the house, he just continued and formed it. Okay maybe miscommunication? Fine, we could have figured it out, so I thought. Mistakes happen, miss communication happens. But here’s where it gets bad.

We had called Matt that night, the night the project was formed, and asked if he could please fix the form and form it against the house so it doesn’t look uncentered and crooked. All the money we are paying to have this concrete laid, we just wanted it straight and done correctly. We even offered to help him dig up the yard to fix it, so his guys didn’t have too! Just to be helpful.

He came back with “no I’m not eating the cost of a days worth of work, paying my guys $65 an hour, I’m union, to re form it.” He then proceeded to tell me, if we wanted the project reformed, it would be an additional $4,000!

Not to mention- he also wrongfully charged us for doubling our concrete pad. Originally he quoted us $1800 for a 10x10 slab. When we decided to do a 10x20, he said “double it”, so that would be $3,600. He added on the quote, $4000. How is that fair? He said double the original quote and then added another $400? The prices kept changing and nothing was legit. Our quote was sent with wrong numbers and the wrong total. We had to contact him to change it.

After 1 hour of trying to get him just to reform the project and continue, he wouldn’t budge from that either…. We got nowhere that night, and we were very angry. What contractor doesn’t fix their own mistakes?

We then received a message that we could just pay him for 1/3 of the job, and move on or pay the $4000 to fix it. So instead of him just reforming and finishing the job, he also lost out on two neighbors that wanted him to do concrete work for them too!

I lost 1/3 deposit and had to find a new contractor.

Unbelievable situation.

Did not do the work we paid for [ not the stairs we asked for the is design in the concrete left a big mess. took my lawn care tool never came back to seal the concrete and agreed to do river rock around pool and under deck.Add dirt where needed.rock and dirt for additional cost .and just never heard from him again

Matt, Bob and their team did an amazing job on our retaining wall! Hard working, super polite, high quality craftsmanship. High attention to detail and made sure we understood every step to ensure we were happy. We will be hiring them back out next year to do more for us. Highly recommend them!! Thank you!

Mcclusky was very easy to work with. the work is quality and fairly priced. they came and knocked out a pretty large scale project in a single day. i was not home when they arrived to do the job and they updated me with photographs through out. they even repaired a hidden downspout they uncovered after taking down the original structure. will use them again!

I liked the people, thought the price was fair and appreciated all of the good reviews to the extent that I never bothered getting any other bids. And they delivered everything I had hoped for. Not a big project but none-the-less important to me. Beautifully done sidewalk where nothing would grow, around the side and across the back of my house. Excellent to work with, start to finish.

We had a new concrete driveway, landing and 2 sets of steps with railings leading up to the front door of our house done by McCluskey Contracting. The work was top notch, with quality craftsmanship throughout the whole process from the designing to the completed project. Bob, Matt and Jamie were a pleasure to work with, all very professional, efficient, courteous and meticulous throughout the whole process. I would strongly recommend them for any future projects.

Matt and his team tour out my front porch and replaced it with a much larger porch with room for storage underneath. He and his team were great to work with and the concrete finishing looks great.

McCluskey contracting provided excellent service from beginning to end. 2024 completed a new deck and covered porch. This year completed my drive way retaining wall. I cannot say enough good things about this company and their service. Hard working, clear communication, numerous choices provided. Courtesy and so nice to work with! The finished products were outstanding with numerous neighbors commenting on how nice a job was done! Cannot recommend them enough!

These guys are great! We waited 28 years to have walls, new front steps and railings installed and well worth the wait. The work they do is amazing and professional to deal with. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have concrete, retaining walls or sidewalks and driveways built or replaced. I felt they were reasonable in scheduling and pricing.
