Dave and his crew were prompt and highly detailed in their work. My wife and I hired him twice over two years to replace our driveway, install 3 retaining walls, replace our front entry stoop and replace/reconfigure our entry walkway. His prices were very reasonable for both projects and he was always on time and work extremely efficiently. We ran into a few unexpected situations on both projects and before anything was done, we talked about options, he gave us pricing, and he moved along without pause or hesitation to improve the end result. Dave and his team were hard working, courteous, and, most importantly, very conscious about details. If I need(ed) ANY additional work done, I’d hire him without hesitation.

Dave has done multiple projects for me for well over a decade. Once I saw the quality of his work I decided that I would call only him for every other hardscaping project in the future. So far Dave has installed several walkways throughout the yard, a drainage system to carry water away from the house that tied in 4 downspouts, a large patio with 2 drains, he rebuilt two large natural stone retraining walls, added 4 low natural stone walls, installed a small patio behind a gazebo with a recessed bubbler,a large paver circle with a sitting wall for a fire pit and lined the curve of the driveway with natural stone. The concrete walkways are still crack free and in beautiful shape after more than a decade. I wouldn’t consider using anyone else.

Dave Czepiel, owner of DC Contracting, did an outstanding job on replacing our old concrete patio with permeable pavers along with reconfiguring our hot tub and outdoor grill, adding a counter area and installing a fence. His work is thoughtfully planned and meticulously executed. He is easy to deal with and will go the extra mile to handle any unexpected contingencies, including in our case dealing with a persistent chipmunk who kept trying to dig between pavers. His pricing is competitive. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

Dave Czepiel has provided high quality concrete work at an honest price for our HOA. Dave takes pride in the finished project with meticulous detail from the layout work to the concrete pour and finish to the topsoil and grass seeding. Our HOA has been very happy with the finished product and utilizes DC Contracting annually to continue work in our community.

Absoutely amazing transformation of our front yard garden beds & overgrown landscape. Jordan drove out to our property on short notice, took a quick look around & knew exactly what needed to be done. His crew were meticulous, courteous, hardworking, punctual every day and extremely professional. They cleaned up everything like they were never there, & went above & beyond what they were asked to do. These guys know their stuff & treated my lawn like they were fixing up the White House or Buckingham Palace. They checked in with us whenever there was a question & made sure we were happy before they left. They made everything streamlined, stress-free, timely & got a tough job done fast. We are thrilled beyond words & have received numerous glowing compliments since they have completed their work. This is THE BEST our yard has ever looked in the near decade we have owned our property. We have a large piece of land in a wooded area & it can be a beast to tame. If you need some landscaping help, especially if it’s looks like an impossible job, these are your guys. Highly, highly recommend.

I contacted steel city to have my retaining wall replaced. Jordan came and gave me a quote within a week and was able to get a crew out over a month earlier than initially expected! The crew was very courteous and did a fantastic job. The wall was completed in a few short days and looks better than I could have imagined. I contracted Steel City Landscape to build a retaining wall and patio. I was very happy with the quality of work and overall professionalism employed by the entire staff. My home sits atop a steep hill which would’ve been a potential issue with another contractor but Steel City circumvented the problem creatively and effectively. During the course of the project I decided I wanted to expand my patio, this expansion was a pivot in the job but was handled effortless. Despite the additional work Steel City completed the project ahead of schedule. I would strongly recommend Steel City for any landscape or Hardscape needs. You WILL be satisfied.

We moved into our home about six years ago and that is when we first contacted Steel City Landscaping for an estimate on a lawn installation. We moved forward with that job and through the process were amazed by the professionalism, communication, and consulting expertise that Mark (the owner) and his group were able to provide. We were so impressed that we have had Steel City handle various projects almost on a yearly basis and as recently as a few weeks ago as we needed an adjacent lot that we purchased cleared on debris and bamboo, leveled, and a lawn installed. Everything that Steel City has done excellent and we will never hesitate to recommend them to any our family and friends.

Steel City Landscape helped solve my down spout water and grading issues on the side of my house. The crew was friendly, and did a fantastic job. They left it looking better then it ever has. Jordan was very helpful, I would use them again.

We hired SCL for our patio and retaining wall construction. Everything was amazing from the very beginning. The team was on time, at the same time, every single day, and they worked so hard until the job was done. Clean, courteous, considerate people. Excellent communication across the board. And of course, the most beautiful retaining wall and patio we could have imagined for our home. I can't say enough good things about this company or the people that work there!

We recently had a pool installed. The pool people pretty much screwed up everything imaginable. They were supposed to do a final grade in the yard but left us holding the bag so to speak. We got estimates to do the work and although SC was not the lowest, we felt more comfortable with their competence and game plan for restoring our yard. It was a great decision. the difference in cost was negligible. They completely restored our yard. They took it to a new final grade, seeded and installed a sprinkler system to ensure proper watering. The yard is coming in great! We had some issue with bare spots and reported them to the owner. Within a week, he sent a crew out to re-seed the areas (no questions asked). We received great service and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Steel City built a new retaining wall with a new off street parking spot for us; something we had wanted for years. They responded to my request for a bid within days and then modified for changes I requested over night, They even provided drawings without being asked. They started the job and finished within the promised time frame and the workmanship is excellent. They also took care of contacting the gas and water companies to ensure no utility lines were damaged. Very, very pleased! Steel City has our highest recommendations. Now, what project do I want them to do next????

I have used Steel City Landscape company twice this year. First to clean my beds, mulch, edge, and trim my bushes which they did a very professional and fantastic job. Since they did such a nice job we reached out again for them to grade a very difficult spot in my yard where they mixed in dirt, took into account drainage, seeded, and straw blanketed the area. I was blown away by how the team showed up on time, worked tirelessly and completed the job in 1 day! They made sure that we were happy with the entire job and they cleaned up everything to perfection. Steel City Landscape is a cut above the rest. Love those guys and they are the only ones I trust! We started using Steel City Landscapes mowing services in the spring of 2016 and we were delighted with the dependable, professional outstanding quality work delivered by the team. In the fall we used the fall/leave clean up program and again were thrilled with the work. We have a very large tree in our back yard that covers our lawn in leaves and the program we enrolled in was well worth the cost. The team clears all the leaves and hauls them away and the yard looks impeccable. This spring we utilized their mulching services of all our garden beds and around our trees, They edge each bed beautifully and do detailed work. We have lived in our home for 21 years and our lawn looks the best its ever looked thank you to Steel City. What's most impressive is the professionalism of the crew, the dependability and the quality work. The prices you pay are well worth the result. Another comment we would add is that the day of our mulching job, the owner actually stopped by to check on the job and its progress which we felt was invaluable. The owner always has followed up on any questions or concerns as well which makes us feel that our business is important to him.

Steel City did a great job on our backyard last year, and the improvements continue to work as planned almost a year later. We were having issues with an old retaining wall, drainage issues, constant runoff/debris in our yard from a hillside, as well as the need to reset a small fire pit patio that was holding water. Jordan came in made some recommendations and I can say they all worked as described while creating a backyard paradise. The team is tremendous and very particular to make sure you get exactly what you want. They put in a new retaining wall, and suggested replacing the steep hillside mulch areas with large limestone to contain the runoff, as well as accenting our pool area with the limestone to tie it all together. We were able to do a mix of mulch in some spots and they no longer run off either. Every suggestion works great and the water now flows to the drains and to the street, eliminating the mess after heavy storms. The fire pit areas no longer holds water after rain. They also reclaimed some areas lost to weeds, adjacent to some woods, with a no mow fescue area, which the dog now uses as its own. The latter means less clean up after the dog as well! We spend a lot of time in our yard and often entertain others who all notice how well the work was done and how the wall color and limestone ties in the existing hardscape in the yard. We are extremely happy and highly recommend Jordan and the team.

Steel City completed an entire yard overhaul for us including excavating into our backyard hill to give us more usable yard space, building a new retaining wall, installing a french drain, and redoing all of our garden beds with fresh plants, river rock, and mulch. We could not be more pleased with the outcome! While Steel City was not the cheapest quote we received, the value was absolutely there, and we feel like we definitely got our money's worth. Our project manager, Josh, was extremely responsive and easy to work with, which is a rare find in comparison to all of the contractors we have worked with over the years. The crew including Martine, Manuel, Carlos, and Frank were all extremely professional and pleasant to work with. We especially appreciated that any mess or sidewalk repairs needed from the machinery were cleaned and repaired before the project was completed. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for hardscaping or landscaping, and would work with them again without hesitation!
