Top-notch electrical craftsmen. Exceeded my expectations in customer service, quality and follow up. I plan to use them again for HVAC too.

We bought our replacement air conditioner from Phillips several years ago now and they have always been great to work with. The unit works great and we haven’t had any problems. They do a yearly inspection to maintain the warranty which is always easy to schedule. Their technicians have also been very friendly and helpful if we have any questions.

Super fast response, extremely reasonable call fee. Great communication. Technician Westly was over the top, very through with findings. They have also installed a furnace for me. The reviews speak for the company. Straight up. Thank you!

Is this any way to treat a customer?

I purchased my central A/C unit from Phillips some 15 years ago and have regularly had both it and my furnace serviced by them since. I’ve been a loyal customer who’s given them a lot of business over the years, so I am disappointed to report my bad experience with them today.
The service tech diagnosed my A/C with low Freon, which he said costs some $400 per pound to replace as it’s being phased out. He came unprepared and didn’t have Freon gas in his van and didn’t tell me how much might be needed. I took time off work for the service call, so it was frustrating he couldn’t do the necessary maintenance/repairs, but I was still charged the full fee for the service call. I told him I was unhappy and asked for a discount on the service. He said he’d need to run that by his manager and went out to call him.
The upshot is the tech returned, after speaking with the business owner, and stated the owner said I’d get no discount and, if I chose not to pay, they’d have their attorney contact me. They did say they could send another service rep to replenish the Freon gas as a separate service call at a later date. Given my work schedule this was not an option.
I couldn’t believe the conversation turned nasty with legal threats so quickly. It doesn’t seem like good business to treat a long-term customer this way. I had every intention of purchasing a new AC unit from them next year, and perhaps a new furnace as well. If they didn’t want to provide a service discount, they could just politely decline – not threaten legal action simply because an unhappy customer requested a discount. Today I found the tech rep., the owner (indirectly) and the lady in their office later I spoke to rude and unprofessional.

Had my 50-year-old furnace replaced in December. The crew was professional, worked efficiently and the furnace ran like a top even in the -5 weather we had in mid-January. Highly recommend.

Phillips installed a new high efficiency furnace for us at a reasonable price as well as removed our old furnace. They were extremely prompt with communication and the installation was fast, with a thorough cleanup. The crew explained everything we needed to know about furnace maintenance etc and even repaired some ducts that had rusted through at no extra charge which was very thoughtful. I was expecting a much longer wait time but was relieved by how quick and efficient this entire process was.

For the past ten years, we've always called Phillips for anything AC-or-boiler-related, whether a checkup or for a repair. They installed our Carrier AC for us 10 years ago when we first bought our house, and they've done every yearly checkup since then. We just had our AC-and-handler checkup done yesterday, and Ian reminded me of the great service that we always get when we call in someone from Phillips. Without fail, they are always amiable, kind, knowledgeable, honest, and thinking of the welfare of their customers. From little meticulous details like always putting on shoe-coverings to keep our floors clean, doing sanity checks on prices to make sure they aren't too high, and explaining in detail how everything works and why, I get the feeling that they really care about their customers. Our handler coil was very dirty and had to be cleaned. Ian explained in painstaking detail how the handler works and not only worked to clean the coil, but even inspected our ceiling filters and all around the handler to troubleshoot what the cause was. He surmised that the cause was our filter being slightly too small, leaving some gaps around the filter which allowed dusty air to be sucked up into the handler. After thinking awhile, he offered several inexpensive antidotes to the problem. He also discovered and sealed up a crack in our air handler that he suspected was also drawing dusty air into the coil.
I know understand much better how the entire system works, and he gave me suggestions and tips on how to prevent the coil from becoming dirty again. I really appreciate the fact that they seem to care not just about dollars but about keeping their customers in great shape and everything in their house working, too. Awesome company!

Service has been top notch! Jim Phillips came to our home several times, first to evaluate our furnace and A/C prior to our home purchase. After we moved in our A/C needed charged, so Phillips Heating & Air Conditioning took care of that at a very reasonable cost. We knew we would be needing a new system, so Jim came to our house to discuss details, pros and cons of 5 different options for new systems. So, we made our selection, replacing both furnace and A/C. Within two weeks, Mike and Nate arrived and removed our old units and installed the new ones in just a little under two days. They also replaced the vents to the outside. They were very respectful, courteous, and professional! They put covers on their shoes before walking on our light colored carpet and this was very much appreciated! Their work was very neat and they hauled away everything. They also removed our temporary window A/C from our master BR, and carried it down to the basement. Very kind and appreciated! And before they left, they gave a complete review of the systems and how to operate them. I recommend Phillips Heating & Air Conditioning to anyone needing heating and/or cooling services or replacement systems! Many thanks to all of you!

I contacted Phillips heating after a terrible experience with another company. The person who answered my call was very kind and understanding. I had no heat and they had a technician to me in less than 30 min. I knew the unit needed replaced and the technician was helpful with setting up financing options and the team was there to replace my unit the next day. The guys were very professional and did an excellent job with installation. Two days later there was can issue with one of the tubes which caused the unit to shut down (not their fault but the tube collected air). Even though it was after hours on a Friday night, they had an emergency technician out that night to fix the glitch and followed up with me to make sure everything was working properly. Thank you so much Kevin and crew, every person I had contact with was genuine and compassionate and that's hard to find! I highly recommend Phillips!

Wesley is a remarkable young man. He’s very kind and was helpful. He answered all our questions. He did a great job cleaning our furnace. I highly recommend this company!! I’ll have them back in the spring to clean our mini splits. Thanks Wesley!!

I called last Saturday morning at 6 am and left a message. Wesley called me back within 15 minutes and asked me a few questions to see if it was an easy fix over the phone. It was more complicated and we met at the house and he got the heat going in a very short time. Wesley took the time to be sure that I understood what happened and what he did to fix it. Great service!

Amazing Service!! Tonight we had emergency service for our air conditioning from Phillips Heating and Air in Pittsburgh. What a terrific company! Their technician Marion was kind, professional and expertly addressed all of our questions and resolved the situation. Great service! Would highly recommend Phillips Heating and Cooling.

I was impressed with Marion. She did a great job replacing my fan motor which was located on the roof of our building. Phillips seems like a really good company, and their prices are lower than others - and I definitely price shopped. They also came out quickly for me.

Got my AC check today. Mary Ann is an awesome, knowledgeable, and thorough technician. Would highly recommend her and Phillips for Heating, AC, and Plumbing needs. Very reasonable priced too!

We had a difficult plumbing problem in our older home that was overwhelming! This was a major plumbing issue that needed an experienced plumber.

Nick Phillips did an amazing job from start to finish!

Every aspect of Nick’s work was excellent! Nick worked neatly and was great at explaining the work that needed to be done. And Nick charged a fair price for such a complicated job.

I could see my breath in my house I called as soon as they opened. They were there in 20 min. They were able to get it on for the day and night but I did need a new one. They gave me 3 different choices came out the next morning and in stalled it. Everyone I had any interaction with was friendly knowledgeable professional answer any questions I had.It always sucks to have to put out a lot of money but when you have to give them a call. I'll sleep better knowing I don't have to worry about the furnace anymore I knew it was coming.

Phillips has plumbing now! We had Nick come on an emergency basis to unclog our toilet. Very thorough, explained everything he was going to do. Got the job done quickly. Made sure everything was clean before he left. I would highly recommend the plumbing division and Nick.

I live in an old house that has a very complicated air conditioning system. I have been a customer of Phillips Heating & Air Conditioning for over 10 years. I have dealt with the owner of the company and probably everyone else in that time frame. The staff is always professional, friendly and reliable. There have been challenges with my AC over the years but Phillips has never run from them. They have always responded in a responsible and upright manner. Always making sure the system is working properly before leaving. Often, they will check back afterwards to confirm everything is still good. I would recommend them highly.

This was the second time working with Phillips. This time around our technician (Eric) did a full check of our HVAC system. After a cleaning of the heating and AC units, installing a motor in the AC, and replacing some faulty ductwork, our whole system is operating w/ much better efficiency. And with no upsells that you might get with other operators. Eric even went above and beyond to find a remedy for an obnoxious knocking sound that was happening each time the air or heat would kick on in the house. Job well done!
