While the project wasn't perfect, it was pretty downright good! I love the color pallet of everything and the design works quite well. I've had numerous unsolicited compliments on the whole project.
The cabinets that I got, while not custom made are quite good and the kitchen design was based on their sizes, so I guess I have custom made kitchen! I did request soft close doors and drawers and pull-out shelves on the lower cabinets. I highly recommend this! It costs more, but it's worth it! My biggest problem now is, I have so much cabinet space I don't know where to put all my stuff! I almost need someone to help organize my stuff and store it or get rid of it!
If I have any post observations, it would be based on design issues that have popped up. After you get something new, you have a break in period and have a chance to use it in its current configuration. Such as: Under the Cabinet lighting - absolutely love it! However, in its current configuration, the light switch is by the sink, next to the switch for the garbage disposal. A better place, (in my opinion) would have been next to the switch for the overhead lights. That way, you could turn both on or off as you enter or leave the kitchen. Also, if I had it to do again, (actually I do because under the cabinet LED string lights are so simple) I'd try to string the lights in a more efficient way and get more use out of a single 16.4' string of lights. I also would like the lights under all the cabinets (there's about 1' under a narrow cabinet next to the refrigerator that doesn't have lights and looks a little bare (my opinion). I also think that it would be great to run a string under the lip of the bar by the sink and provide me with light directly over the sink. The string lights have proven quite effective as project lights and would fill this need quite effectively. Note to all: I got what is termed “double lights”, there are 600 lights in a 16.4' string as opposed to 300 in a standard string. That's 3 lights per inch vice 1.5. If you think that is too bright then get a dimmer switch for them. It's better to have too much than too little and be filled with regrets!
Knowing what I know now, there are more things that I would have had done, but as I promised at the beginning of the process I didn't make a bunch of changes during the project which would have exceeded my budget! As a consequence, I came in pretty much on budget and time.
Renewing the Home's (RTH) quote was substantially lower than Jericho and all told, their design was more to my liking.
Shay was a pleasure to work with, other than he was too happy all the time. Dustin and Jacob were my installers and they are brothers and Steve's sons. They are excellent craftsmen and were very much dedicated to getting the work done. I would be happy to have them on other projects.
The whole crew treated me with respect and made every effort to keep my budget under control.

Tremendously Over-priced for the Quality of Work

The best thing I can say about this company is that they were very friendly and helpful, when you are able to contact them.

--Slow and Poor Communication--

We set up our bathroom remodel on August 22nd 2015. We were given a starting date estimate of late October; an understandable 2 month wait for the project to begin. The end of October came and went, however, with no information from them. We began contacting them early and mid-November, however our emails and telephone calls went largely unanswered. I was half convinced they had taken our deposit and ran with the money. Eventually, we did get a response mentioning that other projects had taken longer than expected and we were now scheduled for some time mid-December.

Mid-December rolled around and they made their first visit to the house since the design visit. Unfortunately, they did not have the tub we had ordered. We would have to wait an additional week.

Since it was now Christmas, work was not going to start until the end of December/beginning of January. We had been waiting a little over 4 months for this project to start.

The estimated time for the job (moving a toilet over a foot, installing a larger tub and tiling the back) was 7 days. The project took 21 days to complete, three times as long as the estimate. As this is our only bath with a shower/tub available, we were without it for nearly a month.

There were no solid reasons or explanations given for why things took so long, but there were plenty of apologies.

--Poor Workmanship--

In addition to the project taking so long, considering the price they were asking for a relatively simple bathroom remodel, the quality of work was terrible.

Foremost of the problems was that our brand new several-thousand-dollar tub, had a gouge put into the side. Our new shower curtain rod was also had the finish scratched in several places after installation.

The floor trim they removed was replaced but now broken and chipped on the edges.
Tiles were miscut and cracked. Some tile edges were sawn very roughly and look damaged compared to the other ones. The shower rod curtain is missing screws holding it in place. Tiles were laid crooked. The tub faucet and shower head seem as though they were tossed on without any care. The latter is both loose and crooked.

--Little Care Over Work--

After pointing out many of the more obvious problems in the work, and to the company’s credit, they tried to fix everything and make things right. If we had not mentioned anything, they would have moved on without a word. Interestingly, two weeks into the job – none of the supervisors showed up again. It felt as though they had left the project half done and moved on to other things. With such a paradigm and seemingly little consideration for us, I felt equally uninclined or interested in sending them their final payment for finishing the job. There have been no follow-up calls or inquires. They simply left, expecting the final check.

--Summary--

While the people are friendly and pleasant, I would very much consider a different company for further remodeling work. They were slow, sloppy, and for the amount they ask – overpriced considering the job they’ve performed.We did end up with a nice new tub, but I can't say I'm completely happy with the end product or the process.

We had Steve and his crew remodel our entire basement, basement bathroom. mudroom and main shower. Everything was exactly as promised and everyone was very professional. The crew was on site when they said they would be there and even came over on a Saturday to fix a few small things we did not have on our list to get our house ready for to put on the market. They were respectful of our home and our family while they were there. Because of the work they did we sold our house quickly and were able to buy our new home, which they will be doing more work for us very soon. We were so impressed that we referred our very good friends to them who will be having there home remodeled by Steve, Shay and crew in February. Thanks for everything, you are true craftsmen!!!

Had a major remodel done at our house with 2 bathrooms. Nathan came in unlike the other contractors and started getting a plan in place to rip everything out to the studs and figure out what we wanted. At the time it was the best we had seen, and we signed a contract for the work. It took some time before renovations started but as promised we had 2 contractors come out to do the job. It took 2 months to finish.

During that time, we had a good experience with the workers and what was being done. If there were changes that needed to happen, they were open to the changes, and we got them put in. With that said, the changes were pricey.

Towards the end of the job, we felt the workers were trying to finish quickly and missed some finishing touches. We still have some trim work that was never done, and our floor could be better. Less than 6 months post, we noticed a spot in the ceiling of one of our bathrooms where mold was showing. We contacted Nathan about it, and he sent someone out to look.

The guy that came said that he could not see anything coming from the roof and was not sure if there was still water coming in but told us we could basically ‘cover it up’. I did cover it up and eventually it came back. We tried contacting Nathan again about this but received no response. We were past the 1 yr mark and had another person come out to look at the mold on the ceiling. He went into the attic and found that indeed water was coming in due to a vent that the companies workers did not fully attach. It had sunk and caused water to build up during rains and slowly dripping on the ceiling in our bathroom. Even though this was past the 1 yr covered, this was due to the work done by Nathan’s crew. We sent this information to him and have received no response.

If we could give 2.5 stars we would as the job was done and we do like quite a bit of it, but the issue that came later due to the work done and not finding the fix is why the 2 stars.

It’s been 6 months since install. They promised a 1 year warranty with repairs at 3 mo and 1yrs. I called after 3mo. No responses to emails and voicemails. Finally their glass subcontractor called unannounced and swapped out a chipped door. A few weeks later Randy calls and says he’ll be by tomorrow. He adds grout on top of grout (not a repair) and tells me he cannot fix several of the tile issues because that would be “too big of a job” and he’d have to get approval. He leaves without telling me and I text and call multiple times with no response. See pictures attached. Randy told me the “apprentice” who happens to be co-owners son did all the bathroom tile work. I cannot show in a picture but there are lumps in the shower floor. The black hexagonal tiles are askew because “it’s difficult”. If I had done this job myself, I’d be very happy. Not happy paying a hefty sum with promise of a years warranty on install. They clearly did sloppy tile and grout work.

Do not trust this company Mark Smith, he will take your money and run with the deposit and not complete the work.

Mark is a wonderful worker and does nice work. I will be using him again.

Yolanda and her team are AWESOME! We’ve been working with her for going on three years now. She’s been very flexible with us in our cleaning cadence, and gives us a good price. They always do a FANTASTIC job- super detail-oriented, and makes our whole house feel squeaky clean. We so appreciate all of the work they do for us, and would recommend them to anyone!

Have had them install crown molding and do kitchen repairs (fix faulty dishwasher installation, fix broken cabinet). They have always been communicative, flexible, super efficient, and reasonably priced. Was referred to them by a neighbor and would definitely do the same.

Great customer service

We employed Tall Pines Construction to remodel our master bathroom and they did an outstanding job! Tom Koleszar was the master craftsman that did most of the work. He arrived on time everyday he was scheduled for this job. His attention to details and outstanding craftmanship are his attributes. I can highly recommend Tall Pines Construction for anyone considering a bathroom remodel.

Tall Pines Construction is outstanding! We used them for a small job almost 15 years ago and remembered them when we relocated to the Seattle area and needed a much bigger job done - remodeling 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. They did a great job. Would use them again anytime!

We hired Tall Pines to remodel our main floor (kitchen/dining/living room) and master bath. Tall Pines removed a fireplace and two walls and installed a large support beam - turning three separate rooms into a great room. They installed cabinets, flooring, tile etc. in our kitchen and master bath. Both our kitchen/great room and master bath turned out better than we could have ever imagined - thanks to the advice from Tim, Brian and Kevin along the way. The contractors were very skilled/experienced, on time, reliable, friendly and accommodating to our family of 5 being here during construction, especially to our 4 year old who loves tools and construction. All of the subs Tall Pines uses are also fantastic - electricians, plumber, drywall/painters, countertops, and glass shower doors. We will definitely use Tall Pines again for any future remodeling projects.

Cannot say enough great things about Tim and his crew. We did a kitchen and bathroom combo to our house, with a $100,000 budget and it was not only money well spent but unbelievably easier than I ever imagined as this can be such a disruptive project for a small family! They were amazingly prompt, on time, clean and professional and I always felt that Tall Pines had my best interests in mind when we priced the work, fixtures, materials you name it. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

We worked with Tim and his team for remodeling our kitchen and for doing updates throughout our family room and dining room. Tim is professional, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. One of the things we loved most about Tim is he doesn't pressure you into anything. His priority is making sure it's done correctly and to your satisfaction. We never once felt that he was rushing to finish our project so he could move onto the next. We felt good about every one of Tim's employees being in our home. They were kind, flexible, and thoughtful. Additionally, Tim had so many great referrals for other needs we had that were not within his scope of work. All in all, we would definitely recommend Tall Pines Construction!

I want to encourage anyone who might be considering a bath, kitchen or more major remodel that Tall Pines would be an excellent choice.
They have finished doing my master bath and I am extremely pleased.
The team was very respectful to both me and my home. Most importantly the quality of the workmanship was excellent. Brian was the lead on my bath remodel, so because of the confidence I have with him and the team I am going to now update my kitchen. The attention to detail and execution was outstanding.
To qualify my opinion, I have been around construction and interior design most of my career.
I would also like to mention that the owners Tim and his wife Michelle are a great team. He is the overall construction manager and Michelle is an Interior designer who can assist with working through the details. She was invaluable to me to assess my choices and give me input.
I would also like to mention that their team of subcontractors were also excellent.

We were recommended Tall Pines by our cabinet consultant. We did an entire kitchen remodel and Tim and his team were professional, clean, on time and very personable. Any challenges arisen were addressed with us and we felt confident in the decisions made. We came in on budget. We would highly recommend Tall Pines.

I was in need of some remodeling in my bathrooms and Tall Pines delivered. Their skilled tile layers and electricians were able to do all of my upgrades and remodeling without any issues. The owner, Tim, was very helpful in step-by-step scheduling and everyone showed up on time and completed the work as contracted. I love everything that they did for my townhouse and would highly recommend them for your home improvement projects.

This review is for their cleaning services. They have a team of ladies that did an awesome job cleaning my home. I love that their prices are upfront, they charge a base price and just go by the hour. No extra charges for doing certain tasks etc like other cleaning companies. They even removed my screen and cleaned my windows, dusted all the baseboards, even folding my toilet paper to a nice bow! Attention to details in every corner. I’ve had cleaners before but they are the best I’ve ever encountered. Would highly recommend them.

We were so pleased with the quality of work performed by Tall Pines Construction on our large, extensive bathroom remodel that we hired Tall Pines to install new flooring--engineered acacia wood--throughout our entire home (except for the bathrooms). It was a huge job, but we're so glad we did it. The floors look like a work of art. While doing the floors, Tall Pines also changed all our floor boards and interior trim around windows and doors to give our house a sharp new appearance and feel. The crew were a delight to work with and to have in our home. Late August while having some siding work and shingle replacement done on our exterior, rot was discovered in two areas. We called Tall Pines, and they quickly came out to the house, assessed the damage and repaired it before the rains set it. We believe in relationship building with service companies.Tall Pines is a company you can work with for the long run. We highly recommend them.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Tall Pines Construction on our kitchen renovation project. I couldn't be happier with the results! From the very beginning, Tim, the owner, made us feel very comfortable with the process. His son Matt and daughter-in-law Araceli were also actively involved in the project. It was evident that this is a tight-knit, dedicated team. Their friendly demeanor and punctuality set a positive tone throughout the project and their open communication made me feel involved and informed every step of the way.
The quality of work and attention to detail was definitely at a high level. The craftsmanship they displayed in my opinion was truly impressive.
