Remodeler reviews across the US

Mike did a fantastic job on building a shop on my property. He lead a team guys in putting up framework and sheathing , trusses, roof, and siding house wrap for the walls all in one day. He put the last shingle on as the sun was setting. I’ve never seen anyone work so hard! Good job Mike Taylor!

Mike did a major renovation for us. Let the pictures speak for themselves.
It turned out stunning. -
With any business you will always have competitors write nasty reviews. For us Mike and his team did an excellent job on our home. We had sheetrock repair, upgraded our electrical outlets and installed recessed lighting for the new kitchen cabinets going in. New hardwood floors and the trim which my wife loves. The crew cleaned up everyday which was nice. I would highly recommend Mike and his company to anyone wanting to do any type of remodeling

Absolutely phenomenal workmanship by an honest and dependable company. Mike transformed the kitchen in a home we bought, ensuring it was completed beyond expectations before we moved in.
We will use him for all of our requirements going forward. Among the very best experiences I have ever had. -
Mike was easy to work with, amenable to changes, doesn’t nickel and dime you, and the job came out beautifully. He remodel our master bath and it came out spectacularly. We are very happy with the results.

We contracted for a complete kitchen remodel, refinishing all the hardwoods in the house, scraping the popcorn ceilings and paint, adding new hardwoods in the kitchen and full exterior painting. The estimate time for completion was 7-9 weeks starting 11-1-23 We fired him the 4-11-24for failure to complete the projects in a timely manner and the poor quality of work.
Our home has a full encapsulation with AFS in Huntsvillle, with a lifetime warranty. Mike was aware of this information. The first red flag was when they had butchered the lining of the encapsulation, (which was 100% clean and pristine) and used the space under the kitchen as a garbage dump. We were assured over and over it would be cleaned when the project was over. Our hardwood floors had to be done 3 TIMES due color diffences, damages, and even a FOOT PRINT right in the front door (someone walked on it while curing and just left it) he elected to have the cabinets (and island) installed prior to having the floors finished. His subcontractors damaged 5/6 panels on the island with the floor buffer, and never even pointed it out. Before writing more, there is not 1 single error, items damaged, poor craftsmanship, etc. that Mike brought to our attention. He was completely comfortable leaving things as is. There were also COUNTLESS times Mikes contractors would lock our doors and not even be able to get in. Let’s talk about the exterior paint. The entire house was painted with “two coats”. There were NUMEROUS significant areas that were either not painted at all, or had other errors. The house is also concrete board. After the house was painted, in the very front a 6 inch piece of the house was missing. Missing. To quote Mike, “it must have fallen off”. These conversations were recorded for accuracy. Fallen off?! Ironically the “fallen pieces” were freshly painted and fit together like a puzzle. Remember, Mike does NOT inspect the work, and takes 0 accountability for well below average work.Home Depot could not install some of them at the time of delivery because Mike didn’t have the correct kind of receptacle installed. Our brand new appliances, (stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher) were sitting out in the front dining room This is one of the MULTIPLE times the contractors left our front doors unlocked!!!
Additionaly, we had ring cameras installed inside the house which would conveniently either be unplugged or the internet service would be disconnected while contractors were working. After the kitchen was complete and the hardwoods installed, the time coincided with the annual inspection from AFS (encapsulation). To quote, “your contractor has butchered under your house”. The warranty was VOIDED under the kitchen, and it will cost $2700 worth of repairs and clean up to get the warranty back! Mike did this damage. He was informed, and not so much as an I’m sorry. Remember, there are text messages AND recorded verbal conversations to back up all this information. Example, he completely left the trim off the wall behind the refrigerator (fully exposed inside of the wall, at least 3” deep. There is not 1single project that Mike did not either damage, took multiple times to correct, or resembled any quality work. He WILL lie to you many many times, damage your home, not care at all about the quality of the jobs performed, not finish remotely on time, often cease communication for days at a time, be delayed over, and inflate all costs. Again, this is to hopefully save someone the mental anguish, disgust, and regret from using trades by Taylor. You’ve been warned.
Update : 5/6/24. Mr. Taylor has been working diligently to make amends and take responsibility for the errors. He has been very responsive to emails and texts as well. -
We had an outdoor patio that we wanted to enclose as an additional room for our house. We were referred to Trades by Taylor and we're very pleased that we were connected with Mike.
Right from the start, Mike provided a free quote, which fell within our budget, and we promptly agreed to proceed. About a week later, Mike and his team began the renovation work to convert our patio into a dining room.
Apart from a minor change on our part, the final cost matched the initial quote, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. We were particularly impressed with the outcome, which surpassed the original construction.
If you're undecided, we highly recommend Trades by Taylor, and we're already eager to engage Mike for our next project -
Mike did excellent work. He was always responsive to each of my inquiries. He subcontracts with great people. Gave me good recommendations for where to find what I was looking for ( carpet, tile, etc.) I will be using him for future renovations.

We contracted with Trades by Taylor to do a complete remodel on our kitchen. We bought a home with a galley kitchen that had last been updated ~ 30 years ago. The remodel including: opening up kitchen, creating an attached island, new cabinets, and laying new hardwood flooring that matched the original flooring in the house. Mike and his team knew we were crunched for time as we would be moving in within 3 months of starting the project. He and his team were consummate professionals. We stayed in constant contact and issues were resolved quickly.
When it came to design trades, based on availability of materials, cost, and/or a miscommunication, Mike offered timely advice and most of the time we went with his recommendations. An example is in our cabinets. There were supply issues with normal base cabinetry and Mike came up with a quick solution to use base drawers on either side of our range. These are now one of our favorite pieces of the kitchen, they are much more usable than the traditional cabinets would have been and look absolutely fantastic.
The project turned out amazing and is now the heart of our home. We love how the flooring appears to be seamless to everyone, until we point it out that the kitchen flooring is much newer. Mike went above and beyond in finding that flooring for us! The island he designed is wonderful and suits all our needs.
We certainly ran longer than we initially planned, but I have never been involved in any project that completed on time! But Mike often went out of his way to make sure that as we moved in, we had all our basic needs and was able to work around us moving in, to finish up. We will use Mike and his team again! -
After scraping a little bubbled paint on my soffit, I found rotten wood and ants. I needed help quickly, so I called a friend for a referral. He suggested I call Mike Taylor. Mike called me back the next day and offered to come take a look the following day. There was extensive damage, so it took 2 days to replace the entire soffit. Mike was reliable and understanding when I asked for a heavier board for the outside. He responded quickly when I sent him a text as to the start time. He completed the job and it looks great. He also did a thorough job of cleaning up the mess. His prices are reasonable and fair. I was so grateful to find a worker with integrity, one who sticks to their word and does quality work. I will definitely call him again for other home projects.

I gave them a call for a kitchen remodeling job. The lady that answered did not seem to care about the job and gave me excuses about why i should call other places. I suppose they don't care about doing business. So strange.I just hung up on her.

Honesty people usually only seem to write reviews when they really like or really dislike a place. I personally didn't do business with Able however, my elderly Aunt and Uncle did. They paid a large sum of money and had a contract with them to completely remodel a bathroom. As work began my Uncle was diagnosed with cancer. Because of it being contract my aunt was unable to cancel it and agreed to continue it so they wouldn't be fined. The worker that Able assigned to them would show up randomly and when he wanted to. He would leave with any excuse to not do the job. During this time my uncle became deathly ill and was placed into a hospital. The remodel took over three months and constant pressure from my aunt. During this time we lost my uncle and Able had finally finished the work. I'm not a expert in remodeling by any means but the work looked like a someone watched videos and then tried to complete it at my aunt's house. After finally being able to get her life back into some order, she kept trying to reach out to Able to have them fix the mediocre work that was extensively brought up time and time again to them. They refused to help or refund her for it. After she finally started to make calls to report Able they came and fixed the mess they made to begin with. I'm sad that today we still have companies that are more worried about money than taking care of thier customers especially in a time of sorrow. I would highly recommend against them as a family person and someone who has seen firsthand they work they accept.

I interviewed more than a few contractors who obviously had no interest in working with a woman. Not the case with Able. They addressed my questions and concerns about my kitchen remodel before even beginning the project instead of glossing over them like others I talked to. Their workers took pride in their work and ensured I was happy with outcomes, rectifying any issues I brought to their attention. I couldn’t be happier with my new kitchen!

I had a house fire last February that caused a lot of damage to my second floor. I called around to a couple of places to start getting quotes to repair the damage, and Able Remodeling was prompt and very professional. I felt comfortable with Able Remodeling from the very start with them taking on this job and they knocked it out of the park. They came in with some of the best people to fix my electrical and I feel more safe in my house now than I did before the fire. They also did an amazing job repainting and repairing everything and they were always available when I needed any questions answered. My experience with this company was exceptional and I will be calling them again for future projects.

Able Remodeling does a fantastic job. My wife and I have used them for a full kitchen remodel, laundry/mud room remodel, an entry remodel and a master suite remodel. In each case, they have really done a great job. I have also used them for an emergency repair involving a sewer line that resulted in a remodel of an existing room where everything had to be carefully removed, cut through concrete, repair pipe and then rebuild everything. What I believe makes Able different is that the owner, Octavio, actually cares. He and his team strive to do excellent work at a fair price. I would highly recommend them for your remodel work. This level of care and craftsmanship is so hard to find these days. Able remodeling delivers.

We used Able to rewire our home. The entire crew was very communicative and upfront about the whole process. The electricians were great and we were very happy with the outcome!

Octavio and his team did an amazing job on our Kitchen Remodel. His staff was courteous, on time and left a cleaned up work space at the end of the day. Octavio was always avaible for questions or any issues that were encountered. I would highly recommend Able Remodeling for any of your home projects.
