I was getting a sewer smell whenever I ran my washing machine. Plumber called 15mins before arrival, was very knowledgeable and offered a solution. I received and accepted a reasonable quote within an hour of his leaving.

Call someone else who will respond when their previous work needs repair. I’m a senior on a fixed income and with no heat in half of my home, I was told “maybe the end of next week”, with no promise. This after my previous TWO visits cost nearly $1,000, and this would have been the third. Found someone who came the next day.

I called after getting a recommendation from a business. What the person who recommended them didn't realize was they don't want to service people in Providence. Because...you know those people in Providence.
The rep on the phone presumed I couldn't pay...she mumbled something like 'is that ok' or something like it, meaning it was too much for me. When I said fine and when was the next available appt (she already told me he "wouldn't be able to come out today") she said "Well he is really busy with other jobs".
I lived in Coventry and Scituate for many years before buying a house in Providence. I have encountered this type of conversation numerous times from businesses in those towns.

Perhaps they should work harder to service ALL the public. I'd give them 'zero' stars if I could.
