Plumbing reviews in East Providence, Rhode Island

Please avoid doing business with G.W.Wagner Plumbing. They are not in the business of treating their customers fairly. I reached out to them to get a job done and when they quoted me the cost I was floored. Their quote was much higher than most qualified companies in the area. While still willing to give them a shot I asked if they offer any discounts. Daniel White, my technician said the only discount available is the senior discount that I do not qualify for. When I ask why he said because you just don’t. He then hung up the phone on me and left me high and dry with a leaking pipe into my basement. As a senior and veteran in North Providence, I would never recommend this company or Daniel to anyone.

I cannot say enough about this company. I had a very distressing plumbing situation and tried for the better part of the day to get help. When I finally found Wagner Plumbing, they immediately came out, and resolved my problem. Glen went above and beyond for me, not only did he take care of my original problem, he also turned off propane tank, and tagged both hot water heater and main water, so, in the event i need to shut them off i would know where to do that.
Prompt, courteous, and a good value. -
Booked them for a job to replace a toilet that my tenant’s kid flushed a toy down back in May of 2023.
I had leaks in the bathroom below the toilet the worked on since that day. I found out today that they never fully connected the new toilet allowing water from the supply and sewage to leak below.
They only charged the toilet they used the old bolts and supply lines. There goes $1000+ for simply changing a toilet. -
I had a pipe crack in my multifamily house, the entire stack had to be replaced. This was a major job and after calling a few places I decided to hire Glenn. Glenn was professional, experienced, and made me feel confident that he would get the job done in a timely manner but most importantly he would get the job done right. He kept me informed the entire time and was also very considerate of my tenants. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable and professional call this company.

I have used Wagner for many years now to address my plumbing and heating needs. All technicians, but in particular, Brayden have been professional and the work exceptional. I will continue to be a loyal customer as the are timely and efficient at resolving any problems.

Wagner Plumbing did a major project for me in 2020. Glen the owner seemed legit at first meeting but I soon realized that he didn't have a clue. In fact, he never even came to the job site. You'd think that a 6 month project which cost upwards of 30k, the owner would be involved. Instead he put one of his workers on the job to oversee it. The guy meant well but everything ended up hooked up incorrectly and I have had boiler and heating problems ever since.
I had to have a real plumbing company come out and they couldn't believe what they saw in the boiler room. There were parts installed that didn't need to be there to the tune of roughly $1500 worth. So many things installed incorrectly. My boiler has been getting an error code, along with a very loud pitched whistle since they installed it. I even reached out to Glen a couple of times and got NO ANSWER. Of course because that would mean that he'd have to stand behind his work and actually refund me or do it right...which I don't believe he is even capable of at this point. The real plumbing company (Tom Peters Plumbing) could not believe what was done here. They didn't even notice that the gas meter wasn't suited to handle all of the appliances that were running off of it. I mean basic stuff that should have been noticed.
So now I will fork up somewhere near 3000 bucks additional to fix the mess and probably more once they have a chance to get in there further. This company talks a good game but beware. The workers were all very questionable and the end result proved my suspicions to be true.
Maybe for a quick faucet swap or a clogged toilet but anything large scale, stay away! If I could give zero stars it would be too many.
If Glen actually stood behind his company and his work, he'd reach out to me and offer to cover the costs that I can provide receipts for for all the problems that I have had since. -
They came out same day. We’re extremely professional and fixed my sink plumbing after I had a company previously fix it twice they did it and it stopped leaking all new piping under the sink and new drain. Very happy with their work and the service they provided for the amount of money, I would highly recommend

I contacted Wagner on New Year’s Eve and Glen followed up immediately. After some well-meaning DIY our toilet had sprung a leak that we had tried to fix multiple times but to no avail. Glen talked through the problem with me and tried to help me diagnose so I could solve it myself. He was empathetic, kind and respectful. When it was clear I wasn’t getting anywhere myself he snuck me in that day and came out to make the repairs necessary. Glen worked quickly and cleanly and walked me through the issue so I could manage future repairs myself. Glen saved our NYE party and has a fan club in my infant daughter. I strongly recommend this company for emergency repairs.

Dan and James were really very helpful and knowledgeable. Made a plan on what needs to be done. Gave me the full read out, estimate on price. Very friendly and outgoing

I have been using G. W. Wagner for a number of years. My wife and I live in an old house, and we have had a number of plumbing issues (lead service line replaced, pipes fixed, electric hybrid water heater installed, etc.), and we have always had speedy, friendly and fair dealings with this company. I recommend this group without hesitation.

UPDATE: Google won't let me write a new review so I'm updating a previous one.
I have had great experiences hiring G. W. Wagner in the past and I did again as well. I had a badly leaking basement toilet and they came right out the same morning, removed the toilet and sealed the drain off. The price was very reasonable.
The vast majority of customers here have been pleased with the service, but a few have complained about pricing, and I want to respond to that. For me it wasn't even $350 to have a plumber remove (and dispose of) a cracked toilet, clean the area, and seal the drain and supply line. You're hiring a professional with years of expertise to diagnose your problem and do the job for you. You're paying for the overhead of equipment as well as staff to field your call and to follow up with you, not to mention the office location to house that staff. And you're paying for all the associated costs of running a business, from employment taxes to insurance to marketing and recruitment. For all of that, what do you want to pay, fifty bucks? Get real, man.
I very much recommend this company and will be hiring them again when I add a basement toilet as well as get around to all the other plumbing issues in this ancient house.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I had a leaking shutoff valve that was getting mighty annoying (not an emergency, but still, having to use a bucket throughout the day). These guys got right back to me. The plumber they sent (wish I knew his name) was great, very knowledgeable, and we discussed some future work I'd like to have done. Highly recommend this business. -
We recently bought our house and after being surprised with a leak, Wagner Plumbing was so helpful and was able to send someone out quickly. Dan T. was awesome, he was friendly (and put up with our dog's barking well)! He found the problem quickly and patched it up, and even took the time to review solutions for other minor fixes we potentially wanted done. We'll definitely be continuing to use Wagner for any future issues!

The plumber, Dan Traficante, showed up on time and was professional and polite. He had to remove an old bushing from a 1929 steam radiator. This was a difficult task, and Dan took his time and tried several methods. If he failed in his task we would have had to buy a radiator from a salvage yard at a high cost. Dan spent many hours and finally succeeded in removing the bushing, saving us much money. I would recommend this company for all your plumbing needs.

Run don't walk from this company. We used Wagner for a pump installation and the gentleman that did the job was on time and did good work. The main issue we needed addressed was a back flow prevention device. They indicated they were addressing this issue and would handle the paper work with the city of East Providence who sent us a letter indicating this was time sensitive. They confirmed a scheduled time when they would visit our facility to address this issue. They didn't show, then called to schedule the following day. This back and forth went on for 2-3 weeks. Then they started telling me the owner or management would call to explain. This has now been over (4) weeks and we have lost all this time with the city of East Providence. Completely unprofessional and has left us in a bind. I would not recommend this company. Regards, Tom
The owner has chosen to respond to my above post by indicating they did communicate with me directly. The only communication I had with G.W. Wagner after they failed to show for several scheduled appointments is when I reached out to them. Each time the gentleman I spoke with was nice and apologized for the situation and said the owner would get back to me. He was clearly in a difficult situation as it sounded like it was not the first time he had to make excuses for failed service. The owners response to my above complaint is totally false. In addition to terrible customer service, they can now count dishonesty as one of their drawbacks. Yes, run don't walk from this company because it is good exercise and good business. -
Wagner plumbing was prompt, professional, and even helped me learn more about our water heater and boiler so I could make informed decisions about our service. Choose Wagner and you will have a plumber for life!

Dan the plumber came by in approximately 1/2 hour after I called. Dan used an Auger to snake my toilet which was obstructed. Dan is a very personable person and I enjoyed my time spent with him. He said everything for the most part has been fixed but it’s possible there still may be a slight obstruction still present. Cost of using the auger was a bit surprising. Didn’t know this type of work was so expensive. Obviously hoping that I don’t need to purchase a new toilet which Dan said it’s unlikely but possible. I did not receive an invoice for the work Dan did. I wish an invoice would be emailed or mailed to my home address

The two guys Quo and Dan,were very pleasant, efficient and took care of the job assigned to them. Glen is an extremely nice person, values customer care and I can rely on him when I have any problems with plumbing. Glad to be their customer

I’m a new homeowner & sprung a leak in my cellar last night. I called GW Wagner Plumbing & Heating and was able to get an appointment the next day at 8:30 am. Dan was right on time. He explained everything in detail, fixed my problem and gave me instructions on possible future issues to watch for. I’m very happy with the fast, friendly service!

From the initial call, to the estimate, to the completion of the work, the team was professional, on time, and reasonably priced. The work they did was nice and clean. I would hire them again.

Dimitri was our technician, fantastic job, assessed the issue, went out and got the appropriate parts quickly, fixed the issue and made sure everything was functioning and clean before he left. Proffessional, polite and pleasant, excellent service from him.

Called this company for a water heater that hasn’t been working at full capacity (running out of water quickly, error message) - called this company specifically because they advertise that they work on rheem. The technician read the manual, said the water heater was taking longer than usual to reach 140 degrees when he put the temp up for an test, and said he would call rheem to see about warranty and parts. He was unable to figure out the error message, didn’t troubleshoot the problem, and instead of hearing back about the “few options” he said he would look into, I received a 5k quote for a new water heater a day later. When I called to speak with the technician directly I was given his phone number. I called and never heard back. They charged 165 dollars for a technician fee but the technician did the bare minimum to troubleshoot and instead just quoted me a new water heater. The water heater is only 4 years old. I expected someone to put in more effort for the fee and fact that he said he would call rheem and look into it and I never heard back.
