Joe Dias came today for our annual tune-up. We are new customers to Petro. He did a great job, very professional and thorough. Thank So Much~

We signed up with Petro a year ago and were initially satisfied with their delivery and service but encountered no issues. However, due to rising costs and a significant increase in their SmartPay plan, we decided not to renew for the coming year. We received our settlement balance, which we were fully aware of and ready to pay.
The day after canceling our service, their Credit department began calling us daily to demand final payment—despite the balance not being due for another week. When I inquired if we would continue receiving daily calls, the representative, Michael, responded with an inappropriate and dismissive attitude, rudely confirming that the calls would continue. This level of customer service is both unprofessional and inconsiderate.
Be cautious of their "special plans," as they can be misleading. Petro initially offers an attractive monthly payment plan, but when it's time for renewal, they often claim your usage exceeded expectations. This leaves you with a tough choice: pay significantly more than expected (sometimes 2.5 times more) or face an enormous balance if you cancel.
To make matters worse, once you cancel, they waste no time hounding you daily for payment, regardless of the due date. I strongly advise against falling for their offers—they seem great upfront but come with hidden pitfalls. -
Won't bring me oil over balance of $200 when it's 14° f outside. Really! Who runs that place, it must be a trumpy bear who needs a trophy.

We were supposed to have a tech come out for noon, we received a call from petro at 1230 that the tech couldn’t make until 3, it is currently 3:45 with no update from petro. I had to get approval to work from home for no reason. This company consistently disappoints.

EDIT TO ADD...
Petro came today to fill (6 days after when it was supposed to be done). $4.99 a gallon... is INSANITY. Average in our area is about $3.29. Add to their delay and price gouging, let's talk about how they spilled oil on my property, and it got on my dog later on... 3 washes later and it's mostly off but what a hazard for them, my family, and any other wildlife. Attached is a photo. And we are contacting them again as well.
We have had Petro for many years for our home. This past Friday, we were expecting a delivery and they claimed that they could not get to our house due to ice. Our main driveways were both plowed down to the dirt and concrete and were wet with slush, no ice. We were then told they would be out this week. Monday came and phone call saying Tuesday delivery. Tuesday came and nothing but a phone call saying Wednesday. Here it is Wednesday and nothing. Called them and they showed in their notes that it was too icy yesterday. Yesterday? No one attempted yesterday! That was Friday! We have received more snow since and yet again we have been plowed and salted. We have had multiple deliveries by large trucks this whole time with no issues. We are almost out of oil now. Needless to say, after this, we will be switching to a smaller, local company that actually puts in an effort and doesn't lie about the conditions of a driveway where people actually live and travel on it daily. -
Technician was neat, professional and was very clear explaining to me about my heating. He was running late. Office called me in a timely manner informing me, which I greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased a home and was converting the oil boiler steam system to heat pumps. It was going to be 4 weeks or so and the temperatures were dropping and my oil near empty. I called asking for the absolute minimum amount of fuel possible.
I was signed up for a subscription service resulting in a second delivery. I was informed they do not offer anything but a subscription service. I explained I am not sure why I would have signed up for said service plan if communicated considering my situation to retrofit. They identified a packet was sent to my home, I admit with the construction it may have been lost. Identified a glitch where I did not receive notice of the second delivery where I could have prevented the issue.
It was a little challenging to connect with someone and have a conversation to resolve the issue. Upon reaching Mike, we had a very professional and polite conversation. Mike committed to discussing internally and kept his word to follow up with me the next day. I appreciate the effort of Mike and Petro to help resolve the issue. Thank you. -
I wanted to say thank you! with pending storm coming thank you for coming to top off my tank and it being 8°out.with out asking that is what you call great home services.

We were loyal customers of PETRO for 26 years, but they’ve lost their way. Charging for services they never provided, charging for services under contract using dishonest practices, technicians that are outright rude and less knowledgeable about their jobs than they profess to be. If you’re thinking of using PETRO for anything, don’t. There are plenty of good companies willing to put the customer first without signing up for PETRO. I’d give them a zero but they only go down to a 1.

I had a new indirect heating system installed through CCAP back in 2023. I was told the system came with a warranty and should I have any issues to reach out to Petro. I tried calling several times and texted Andy from the install team who gave me his personal contact card should anything arise on several different occasions and never heard back. I mentioned in texts that I still have that my water would still run cold after awhile of use which shouldn't be happening with indirect! I also mention in text that I still have, leaks in the system. Fast forward to now, the leak turns out was a gasket and oil nozzle diagnosed by another company to the tune of $350. The water turning cold issue i ended up finding out after just 2 years my circulator went bad to the tune of another $650 cost to me. After the circulator being replaced and diagnosed by another company, upon closer inspection Petro installers didn't correctly do the wiring properly for the system which is why the circulator went bad in just 2 years. I was told in order to correct it it would cost me another $1000! This all is unacceptable!!! $2000 on a system only 2 years old and this easily could've been avoided had Petro ever responded and come out. I will be seeking legal action if Petro doesnt reach out and make me whole.

Owning a home is so stressful. Not knowing what is going to break next. Petro has been a reliable and entirely helpful resource for all of our furnace and plumbing for eight years and counting. They might cost a bit more but I will tell you from my personal experience that there is no bigger relief than having their service plan, calling in freaked out about no heat on the 1st floor, or third floor, always discovered in the middle of the night of course. Or in our most recent home owning fun, hearing a thunderous banging, coming from the furnace area, making that nervous service call, and having a friendly experienced tech arrive shrtly thereafter to examine everything and voluntarily go through a furnace 10-point maintenance -- at 10pm the night before Thanksgiving, by the way -- and having assurance that it isn't about to explode. The invoice was all covered within the service plan. Strongly recommend seeing if their service plan suit your needs, bc you may find it fits! They are very fair when it comes to extra work that arises beyond the basic service calls. Peace of mind. It is so worth it.

Was a customer for 3 years. They were always prompt with deliveries, so I never worried about running out of oil. Unfortunately their home heating oil is very expensive and customer service is lacking. Paid $4.18 a gallon in November of 2025. When I called to let them know I wouldn’t be renewing my contract with them in December because of a price increase they made it difficult and belittled me. I switched to another company, avoid these people like the plague.

We've had a couple emergency situations this winter and overall Petro service is great. We're able to get fast service and the techs are knowledgeable, our issues have been professionally handled to our expectations. BUT-- getting through on the phone can be very difficult, we've had to wait hours on hold or waiting for a call back. We do eventually talk to someone same day so it seems to be reliable once we are able to get ahold of someone. Oil service is great, the usage tracking and auto-delivery has been convenient.
