Highly Recommend anyone looking to do home repair and remodel to use Golden State Builders. They are all professionals from Quote to Finish. If there are questions or unexpected surprises, they handle it professionally and respond fast. I have recommended their services to two friends since using them and would recommend them to anyone in need of a contractor. Their commitment to their client and a job well done goes above and beyond.

I sought out four quotes for my siding project on my house. Three of the quotes were very similar in price and one was very high (triple) compared to what the other quotes came back with. I asked for references and to see photos of previous work. I had questions about worse case and best-case scenarios. Ben from Golden State Builders came out for the quote. He got back to me with answers to my questions quickly and assured me he would be in charge of my remodel and would make sure everything was handled well. I really liked how on top of everything Ben was and that his communication was so responsive and understandable. Ben made sure I understood the process for my project and let me know who was coming out, when and projected length of time to complete each stage of my siding project.

I can not express enough how important communication is when doing a project and I was really impressed by the communication and response time from Ben.

My neighbor used Golden State Builders Group (after I recommended them to her) for a painting the front of her house and she loved how it came out! She enjoyed meeting Ben and found his team to be very professional. They cleaned up after themselves after the project was done. I enjoyed that she got the same level of attention for her smaller project that I got for my project. Big or small, Golden State Builders are professional the whole way through.

Our HOA needed a large wall of cedar shingle siding replaced and a recurring window leak fixed. I interviewed several experienced siding contractors and chose Golden State Builders. Not only did they offer the best price, but I believe their experience outweighed the others. I was impressed with the answers to my questions and their patience with explaining details. They were also willing to start the job on our schedule, not theirs. Before hiring them, I contacted many of their references, used Google satellite to see their siding workmanship and, of course, read online reviews. Every reference was happy with the quality of their work and the online reviews were impressive. The quality/appearance, efficiency of their work is superior compared to other of our past siding projects and, as the HOA project manager, I appreciated their follow through on special requests and the care they took on keeping the sidewalks and common areas free of debris. I first interviewed Ben, but my primary point of contact after we signed the contract was with Carmen. She was available to me every step of the way - responding to my early morning and weekend questions. She's represents the best in customer service. I wish all companies had a Carmen! I have placed them on our preferred vendor list and won't hesitate to hire them again when we need more siding work done on our 50 year old buildings.

Golden State replaced my old redwood deck that was rotting away. I was impressed with the Carmen and Johnathan who sold me on the idea of a Trex deck. The work was outstanding and the installers paid attention to every little detail. Appreciated that each night they cleaned up. This is a 400 square foot deck that took about 2 weeks to complete. I highly recommend Golden State Builders Group.

In order to fire harden my Oakland hills home, I just had Golden State Builders Group replace my cedar shingles with Woodtone Hardie Board straight shingles (Old Cherry color). The shingles look fantastic which has also been confirmed by my neighbors. It was well worth the wait to get this particular shingle. The crew was fantastic and true professionals who knew what they were doing. I also installed Hardie soffit to cover my eaves. While no guarantee that my house won't burn down during a wildfire, I feel a little extra comfort in knowing that I'm that much more protected. Safe Harbor is a top-notch company. I had a leaky roof that was causing sheet rock damage on the ceiling of my garage. I called Safe Harbor later on a Friday, after 5PM, and the owner of the company (Steve) answered the phone directly. Not an answering machine, not a 3rd party answering service, not a busy tone, but the actual owner. Steve spent 20+ minutes understanding the situation, used google maps to view the exterior of my house and explained the possible issues and steps they would take to further diagnose. I scheduled to have someone from Safe Harbor look at my roof but I had to reschedule due to a conflict I had. When I called Safe Harbor, again Steve answered and told me no problem to reschedule. When the roof technician arrived on-site he not only identified the problem, he was willing to take pictures and take the time to explain specifically what he was seeing on my roof (rather than simply saying he found the problem and he could fix it). Communication throughout the entire process was great. No more leaking roof!

New James Hardie Siding, Marvin Windows, Gutters with a leaf proof top, painted the front of the house, and installed a new Providia back door with storm door. Looks like a new home! Working with Steve, Leo, and Rodrigo was a pleasure. The crews worked hard and did an excellent job for us. 10/24/23 - Safe Harbor has quickly become our go-to company for hassle-free, friendly, competitively priced exterior services. We had a few more windows replaced, and as usual, we are very satisfied with the experience and the product. We plan to use them for our gutters and fascia soon!

We were extremely pleased with the quality of the roof replacement process. We had hail damage and Safe Harbor worked with us to ensure that we received the most benefit from our insurance dollars. We talked to multiple companies while deciding who to use for the exterior of our home. Safe Harbor was transparent, fast, and offered James Hardie siding compared to all the other companies only offering vinyl. Safe Harbor was much more affordable than many of the other companies, who just wanted as much money as possible. We are extremely happy with our siding, soffit, fascia, flashing, gutters, windows and the guarantee that comes with their work. If there was any more work to be performed, without a doubt, we would chose safe Harbor again.

We contracted with Safe Harbor Roofing for new roof. Steve and Garrett were very professional and kept us informed on progress of the job. The roofing crew did a great job of protecting landscaping during project and cleaned up entire area each day. From start to finish work done by management and crew was excellent, and our beautiful new roof was completed on time and on budget. We highly recommend Safe Harbor Roofing.

Good experience overall. Owner Steve met with us and gave us details about our desired work primarily residing our home with James Hardie composition material. The bid and scope were competitive with others we had gotten. His edge for us was providing new gutters as part of the siding job and not requiring an up front payment which helped get us scheduled while we closed on equity financing. The job was done in a timely manner and looks fantastic. We were shocked and relieved to see the amount of weathered and rotted original materials that were removed and replaced by the crew with the new siding. We now have decades of peace of mind ahead of us.

I am VERY pleased we chose Safe Harbor Exteriors! We had our roof replaced and Steve took care of all the communication with the insurance company, what a relief! Couldn't be more pleased with the roof! Three weeks later, they replaced all of our windows with wraps... the 2 men that worked on them were great! Even put up my new blinds! It was easy to tell that all the men that worked on our home were after a quality finished product! Both crews left our property clean of all debris. We highly recommend Safe Harbor Exteriors!

Safe Harbor installed our Hardie Board Siding and it looks great! They started earlier than expected and got siding job done quickly and cleaned up after themselves! We also had some stone put around garage which took longer because special order but did eventually get done. Overall very happy with completed project and would recommend Safe Harbor!
