They did an excellent job cleaning the gutters (no longer a service they provide?) and cleaning the dryer vent. The vent was clogged worse then I expected and I’m glad I had it done. The dryer worked amazing afterwards.

Hook and Ladder fixed my grouchy gas fireplace. It's been rough as the unit had some issues took a bit of effort to fix, but their responsiveness and honesty really helped. Home repair can be very stressful but when you have a company that you know is going to stand behind their work and make sure it gets 100% fixed, it definitely takes the worry away.

We needed our dryer duct work cleaned desperately. They were efficient and did a great job. Pricing was fair. Highly recommend them and will be using them for our yearly duct cleaning.

If I could leave less than one star, I would. This company cleaned my dryer vent through a recommendation to my mother. I was out of town when the service was completed, but my mother was here. Upon arriving home from my trip (with lots of laundry to do), I find a dryer that barely heats when it was working perfectly the morning I left. I find it extremely suspicious that my less than 4 year old dryer all of a sudden no longer works after they cleaned my dryer vent. And of course, it’s not their problem. So now we are out the money for the dryer vent cleaning and now I have to pay a service repair man to come fix my dryer that was working the day before they were here.

EDIT: Had an appliance repairman out here today. $168.14 later, he has replaced the main hose to the dryer, which was stretched out and damaged from your service, which was causing a lack of heat to come into the dryer. So your $90 ‘vent’ cleaning has now cost me $$258.14. Will you be reimbursing me for this? I have documentation and will be sending it to the Better Business Bureau if this goes unresponded to.

They did a great job for what they are supposed to do. However, not more than 2 months after they cleaned our dryer vent, we ended up having a dryer fire! Thankfully, someone was home at the time, and it didn't cause much damage. I called the next day, and the owner explained that they only clean from the dryer out, but you still need to clean lint from the dryer itself. I told him that, as a customer, I was not aware of this, as I thought that hiring his company would be all that was needed to prevent a fire. I suggested that they should have their technicians inform people that they only do one part, and the other, inside of the dryer part, was also dangerous and also important . He was pretty rude, and said, "it's on the website ". I said, not a lot of people sit down and read your website. They go there to get your number and that's it. It's a pretty vital detail, since your service DOESN'T actually prevent fires on its own. He kind of laughed me off. So, the point of this review is, check the inside of your dryer. This company doesn't do that, and doesn't tell you to do that. Their service alone won't prevent a fire.

Denied accountability for knocking loose the vent cap on the outside of our house. Blamed it on "stormy weather", despite the cap being found on the ground two days after their service. Pointed me to another company to make the fix, that has been completely non-responsive. Extremely disappointed with the way they've handled this situation and would not recommend their service.

Quick, clean and friendly. Had 2nd story vents cleaned and the price was a flat rate. Other business like this charge extra for 2nd story or long distance runs. Two people showed up and started the job. They were done in less than 30 minutes. Note, while my vent was not that dirty there was no ups selling for any other products.

This is the second time I have used Hook N Ladder for dryer vent clean out. This time they also removed birds nest from bathroom vent and installed bird guards on two bathroom vents. Great service, right in time slot quoted, quick, efficient and explained everything that was completed. Also told me they are fixing to get licensed to do any small pest removal in NC/SC, so that is good to know in case we ever need it. Thanks!

Below is my first review. We had Hood N Ladder out again this year to service the gas fireplace logs as well as a cleaning of the dryer vent. I can only reiterate my thoughts at that time. Impeccable service and exceptional quality work. They are the best.

Outstanding customer service from the point of initial contact through the appointment and even afterwards. Owner got a small smudge on some carpet and came back then next day to clean the rug for no charge. His reasoning was, “we stand behind our work.” A person of integrity and admirable work ethic. This was my first time having my dryer vent and chassis cleaned and I am so happy I did! Scheduling was easy, price was reasonable, the technician showed up on time and finished the job quickly! My dryer runs like new and we have minimized the risk of a dryer fire. I will definitely be using this service yearly!

Owner came and provided a vent cleaning service to our dryer. At first, I thought he was kind and did a good job. The next day, we saw our vent cap lying on the side of our driveway indicating that it had been removed during the vent cleaning. The owner came back to our house to review this only to tell us that he did not have a ladder tall enough to replace the vent cap and going on the roof was “too dangerous” for him. He blamed the missing vent cap on weather that we did not have in the time between him providing his service and us finding the vent cap. Completely denied possibly knocking it off during cleaning which is a possibility as we are all humans and mistakes happen.

2 things to consider here- first, I would not recommend supporting a dishonest business owner. Second, he clearly does not have the tools or capability to fix something he may break while providing his specific services to your home. Major liability and not the kind of stress you want to take on as a customer.

I have used this company a few times over the years to clean my dryer ducts without any issues, however my latest interaction with them was horrendous. I scheduled a duct cleaning and added a chassis cleaning since my dryer is about 4 years old. The guy who came out turned my dryer on prior to doing the cleaning and it worked fine (as it has worked since I purchashed). He spent about an hour in my laundry room and then came out to tell me that he was done, but my dryer wouldn't turn back on. He spent another hour or so trying to figure out why but was unable to. The control panel wouldn't turn on, so there was no way to operate the dryer. He told me that he wasn't going to charge me for the service and that I needed to call an appliance repair company. I asked him if he would cover that expense and he was very rude telling me that by not charging me the cost of the cleaning, that would cover the expense of the repair guy. I reviewed with him that the dryer worked fine when he arrived and he should take responsibility for the repair if he damaged it. He basically said that it wasn't his problem or his fault and that it was just a coincidence that it broke while he was there! I called and paid for a repair company to come out and was told that the dryer vent tech likely touched some of the electrical without turning the breaker off first and shorted out both of the control panels on the unit and got an $797 estimate for repair ( he also said it would take up to 6 months to receive the parts). I bought a new dryer as I cannot go months waiting for parts. I have now attempted to call Hook N Ladder several times, but they never answer the phone and their mailbox is full so I cannot leave a message. I would never use this company again. I understand that mistakes happen, but am completely astounded at the lack of accountability and professionalism that I have experienced here. I would highly recommend NOT using this company.
