Gary came out and was amazing! He cleaned out the dryer ducts and gave me honest advice on how to maintain my dryer, also making sure I have him come out annually. He even noticed the hose wasn't connecting properly and was able to fix it. Very kind and thorough! He made me feel reassured that we were safe and that my dryer was ready to go! And very reasonable prices!

DO NOT USE this business - HOOK N LADDER VENT SERVICE of Fort Mill, SC. I hired them to perform a vent cleaning in Sept 2018 and it ended up costing me $710.00 as well as water damage to my property!
Their poor standard of work resulted in roof damage and a leak that required additional repairs. The work that was performed and the resulting damage was assessed and cited by two separate vendors. Photos included.
It is documented that they used a cover not designed to prevent water intrusion. Water seeped through the corners. They incorrectly used black rubber roof repair spray as a sealant. If they were not equipped to use shingles for proper coverage, they should have advised me at the time. Again, using rubber spray was incorrect and resulted in an incomplete job.
I was also advised and extremely disappointed to learn that the price of $450 for a dry vent install was highly above market (also no completion picks were provided to me). As a female consumer, I feel I was charged a higher price.

They overcharged me for a poor standard of service that resulted in damage requiring a repair from my HOA in the amount of $260.
The work was performed by the owner, Gary Hershey. I have asked for a refund with no response almost a month ago with absolutely no response. I find this unethical.

We have spent a lot of time dealing with this situation – time and a lot money spent dealing with this business.

I am providing this review to warn others about HOOK N LADDER VENT SERVICE!

I had a great experience using Hook N Ladder to clean a neglected dryer vent and would highly recommend them. It was much easier to book an appointment using their website than dealing with one of their competitors over email and the price for the service was better as well. Gary showed up early and immediately assessed that we had a disconnected dryer hose based on my reporting steam and dampness in the laundry room. Sure enough, the hose behind the dryer had come apart, which he replaced at no extra charge. The 25-foot-long vent to the roof had long been neglected so I wasn't surprised to hear that he removed three gallons of dryer lint. I'd definitely recommend Hook N Ladder based on ease of booking, punctuality, quality of service, and price.

They came and were in and out in under 15 minutes which gave me pause. Prior our dryer was not drying clothes anymore so we wanted to check it wasn’t just the vent. He said it was clear and that our dryer was no longer even turning on. So I ordered a new dryer. After I realized he hadn’t plugged it back in properly. When we replaced the dryer with the new one the next day, a handful of lint and debris fell out of the pipe leading to the wall that hadn’t been cleaned out. Then the new dryer wouldn’t work so we bought a camera and inserted it in the dryer vent. It is completely clogged still. From about a foot down from the dryer and a foot in from the outside wall it is still clogged. So we paid for nothing and now have to pay someone else to come and clean the dryer vent again. When I texted them that they hadn’t.cleaned the vent properly we got no response.

I had my furnace checked to be ready for the winter and the technician was very knowledgeable about his job and did not mind me asking a lot of questions and charge a very good price and was honest did not try to sell me something I did not need which in these days honesty saves you money!!

Finally an HVAC company that we trust and that does not break the bank! Kevin was amazing. Quick to diagnose the issue. Didn't feed us a line of bull. He fixed the issue and I didn't faint when he gave us the quote.

Kevin called me back - on a Sunday - within an hour or so of contacting them! He asked questions over the phone before coming by the house to determine what the issue possibly could be. He then stated that although he was going to be at another job site, he wanted to at least give me some advice on what he felt the culprit was and also said he would call me back to check on me.
Sure enough, his advice was spot on, and when he called back to check, the issue had been resolved!
