We had the privilege of working with Sonny on a load bearing post removal for my home. Sonny and his team went above and beyond to provide us not only calculations and drawings, but even provided modifications a few months later when the contractors ran into unforseen complications. I really enjoyed working with them and would highly recommend for anyone seeking professional work.

Sonny is an epitome of professionalism and expertise when it comes to foundation inspections. He was meticulous, patient, caring and thorough when conducting the inspection. He spent two full hours going over each and every detail, plus suit up (in an overall, goggles, work-boots, flashlight, headlight, etc.) and spent an entire hour in the crawling space. He spent so much time in the crawling space that I had got worried for him. He goes above and beyond what is required of an inspecting engineer to make sure he is not overlooking any minor issues/problems/cracks in the foundation, and his plans/blueprints are topnotch with the utmost preciseness and accuracy. Not only his work was five start, I would give him 100 out of 100 for the quality of foundation inspection he did for us (A+).
Also, I take this opportunity and thank each and every member of MG Construction crew who worked at our property. They are the most consummate professionals in this field. Each and every one of them is the most seasoned and reliable professionals you can find in the construction field. I had the pleasure of working with Sudarsan Vakul Srinivasan ("Sonny") for inspections on multiple homes. He's was available at short notice for an inspection on the weekend with a very quick turnaround time for the report (time was of the essence). After the inspection, he makes sure to spend sufficient amount of time explaining all the findings in an easily understandable manner.

When it came time to remodel my mom and dad's home, he agreed to take on the task even though it was in Concord CA, a good distance from his home base. and would mean some long distance traveling for his staff and sub contractors. It took some adjustment to make everything work, but throughout the entire process he has tenaciously kept the job going smoothly and exhibited unwavering integrity. Hired MG to do foundation and structural integrity inspection for a home per recommendation of our agent.

Sonny and Sachin came for inspection. Both were knowledgeable as well as patient as we discussed various aspects. They educated me with "why behind the what".

As a follow-on, I spoke to the firm owner Mark as well. He has been in business for over 20 yrs and provided comprehensive insights going through personal anecdotes to help paint a bigger picture beyond the inspection.

This was my first experience with rehabilitating an old house, but I have had lots of experience with contractors (2 new construction, 2 remodels & 1 addition). MG Construction was by far the best service I have ever experienced. Mark and his crews show up on time every day they say they will be there, and they do excellent work. They also work diligently to minimize messes.

We have had MG Construction do two separate projects on our 75 year old home: he did earthquake retrofit, repaired a crumbling foundation and installed a sump pump for the first project. The second project his crews chipped away the old stucco around the decayed window sills and casement as well as the stucco around the base installing a weep screed. The did a great job matching the unusual stucco finish on the property and our home is now water tight. I highly recommend Mark and MG Constructors.

MG Constructors were very professional in the way they helped me out with the foundation strengthening project at our place. Sonny was in particular very knowledgeable and was willing to spend the extra time explaining everything I needed to know. I highly recommend them.

They were great to work with and we would recommend to anyone in the area needing foundation work. The lead engineer, Sonny, was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and responsive. Other companies we'd spoken with wanted to either put a bandaid on our aging foundation, which would require more work down the road, or wanted to completely replace it. Sonny came up with a solution that specifically addressed and corrected the issues we were facing, without having to do a full replacement. The workers were also very nice, and as unobtrusive as possible.
The only area we see for improvement would be for more frequent updates during construction. There was regular communication prior to the work beginning, but once the project was started, we had to reach out a few times for status updates. That said, we always received a swift reply, which is generally unheard of in the construction industry, so they get 5/5 in our book.

I needed to have cracks in the foundation of a rental house repaired. Sonny Srinivasan of MG Constructors and Engineers, Inc. did a thorough job of inspecting the foundation and defining the required work. The construction crew also did an excellent job of performing the work. I strongly recommend them.

MG Constructors performed a challenging job quickly and under budget. They were able to coordinate with our roofers and take down our chimney, replace a support beam and rafters, and move roof vents. Timing was critical, and everything was completed before the roofers finished. MG Constructors provided excellent plans for the city permits, and performed high quality work.

Sonny and his team were absolutely incredible. Our home inspector discovered horizontal cracking and damage to our foundation in our new home and referred us to MG for the repair. I called Mark feeling very worried, and he immediately alleviated that stress through his confidence, honesty, and candor about the cost. He was upfront that this would be an expensive fix and encouraged me to hire experts like themselves.

I had spoken with other contractors who told me to ignore the issue or patch it over. I knew that wasn’t an option. The problem wouldn’t go away and needed to be fixed

MG did an inspection and located the damage. They not only proposed fixing it but also addressing the cause of the problem with a French drain, sump pump, and pop-out drain to the street.

MG has an amazing team. Sachin, the engineer, ran the project and was responsive and easy to communicate with. They handled all city filings, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. Anthony, the superintendent, was great, good communicator, and professional. Everyone was efficient and doing really good work. They protected the home and cleaned up after the work was done. They were respectful and considerate of neighbors, parking, and other contractors I hired.

We hired MG right before Christmas, and they didn’t let the holidays slow them down. They pushed ahead, got as much work done as possible, and completed the entire project quickly.

There were no surprise change orders. The only cost increases were filing fees (not in the original contract) and a change I requested to add a backup battery for the sump pump.

Payments were easy through Buildertrend, with photos available there too. Invoices were very clear. The entire process was organized, and tech-savvy.

I highly recommend going with a reputable company like MG for something as important as your foundation. Do yourself a favor and reduce your stress and get a great result.

The crew at CSI are amazing and very professional. We had an issue with structural cracks all through our slab and the builder kept putting us off. We had CSI come out and asses the issue. Within one week we had a full report on the issue, submitted it to the builder and within one more week the builder made a plan to completely replace the issues at hand. Great job CSI and thank you again!

CSI did our building envelope evaluation two years ago and identified widespread sealant failures and flashing deficiencies. They helped us scope the repairs and reviewed the contractor bids so we were not overpaying. Now they are overseeing the remediation work and reviewing every pay application before we release a dollar. It is like having an engineer in your corner who actually cares whether the work gets done right. Our project manager is on top of everything.

We have been working with CSI for many years. Their attention to detail and job oversight has helped our projects run smoothly. Whenever we have a question about condominium waterproofing, concrete repairs, stucco and EIFS repairs, we always start with CSI’s recommendations. The whole team at CSI has been a pleasure to work.
