UPDATE: The deal on the previous house didn't work out, but I'm so glad that Francisco Oliva saved my bacon on that one! He recently came out to another house and went through the whole process with me again. The dude really kicks ass!

EEI/Equagen responded very quickly to my need for a structural engineer and did so at a great price. Francisco was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything in a way that was easy for me to understand. I received my report two business days after his inspection.

Jorge Aguas of EEI Engineering & Inspections was critical to our ability to show the existing structural limitations of a project Silver Lake Construction Co. was contracted to do. His exceptional ability to interpret the original structural drawings and inspect the existing site conditions confirmed that the wind bracing system of the original structure was still an essential component of the integrity of the building, though the use and structure of the building had changed over time. We are certain that bringing in EEI was the best decision to provide the professional opinion needed to ensure the safety of the structure and its inhabitants. We will definitely be using EEI in the future!

Conemco was hired and paid to conduct a visual inspection of five faulty balconies. They were also responsible for providing detailed drawings to guide the necessary repairs for each balcony. After the visual inspection and drawings were completed, it became evident that two out of the five drawings were incorrect; they failed to accurately depict the balcony ledger embedded within the wall. Instead, the drawings suggested that the balcony ledgers were merely attached to the wall, which was not the case. This was a significant and easily noticeable difference that one would expect a professional engineering company to identify. Conemco clearly made an error in their assessment. Even after providing them with photo after photo showing their obvious mistake because they wanted to charge for another visual inspection, they chose to ignore our calls and never rectify the drawings. I would not suggest using such an unprofessional company composed of incompetent and unresponsive idiots.

We purchased a home in the Pinecrest area and wanted to add an additional of approximately 2,800 sqft. After many architects and engineers, we came across these guys. DoubleDay Engineers. These guys gave us ideas which were extremely creative. They are not cheap, but when you look at time, quality and the ability to design structurally sound structures, they are well worth the money. All I can say that they are awesome and we are super excited with the finished product. Wow!

We are an assisted living facility which is required to have a back up generator due to state law. DoubleDay came in sized the generator, our load demand, created plans and on the first run, had the plans approved. We are now installing a new backup generator and meet state code requirements. These guys are great at what they do. Thank you!

I had the mortgage company deny our refinance due to alleged structural problem at the house. We called Doubleday Engineering and they had an engineer the next day on site. The engineer found that we didn't have any issue and wrote a detailed report report with detailed photos countering what the mortgage company had found. These guys saved us thousands of dollars and found that the so called home inspector had missed so many specific points which wouldn't had allow us to refinance the house. Excellent work guys!!! "Terrible customer service experience"—do not use them for inspections as they do not stand by their work. Communicating with this company was nearly impossible since they do not answer their phone. After multiple attempts, we finally received a response to our emails, only for our request for assistance to be ultimately declined, and they even blocked my emails.

The reports they provided were completed using outdated, obsolete forms and were missing essential information, including digital signatures, cover letters, the required thermography report, and adequate photographs.

We contacted Doubleday Engineering to request they complete the missing elements, even offering to pay for a re-inspection given the time that had passed, they refused, stating they didn’t have time to conduct a re-inspection.

We had no choice but to hire a new company, pay again, and undertake a complete new inspection. Our request was reasonable—we simply expected them to honor their commitment and provide reports that met recertification standards. They had already done the work and it should have been easy for them to help us if they had a better disposition.

About three years ago I worked with DoubleDay Engineering to help me get my roof up to code. I’ve since moved out of state but when my relative needed some help with their home DoubleDay immediately came to mind. Their in house capability is impressive. More than that they actually show up when they say they will! Thank you
