We basically hired a contractor that stole our money and lied to us. Claimed he had done structural work and when he removed the one wall, the roof almost caved in. We were terrified and looked for a structural engineering firm that could help our family in this time of crisis. We found DoubleDay Engineers and these guys came out to the house within an hour. Within 5 hours they had secured the roof and withing 3 days after that they had plans and structural calculations - which were approved by the building department, without any hiccups. ROCKS STARS. I had a fantastic experience with Double Day Engineering. I needed an after-the-fact certification to confirm my roof was done properly because the original contractors forgot to call for an inspection.
