Do NOT hire this inspector.

Their report gave me confidence to buy my home, but it completely missed serious hazards. The house had extensive cat urine and feces contamination, including on top of kitchen cabinets that were pulling away from the wall. They missed a crack in the bottom of the bathtub because their inspector couldn't be bothered to lift a rubber mat in a completely vacant home with only one bathroom. Three weeks after moving in, someone actually fell through the floor in one bedroom.

When I raised these issues, the company did nothing to address them. Instead, they tried to pressure me into signing a nondisclosure agreement in exchange for a refund of the inspection an amount that doesn’t even come close to covering the emotional, financial, and health impact on me and my child, who has allergies.

They also refused to enter the attic through accessible side vents, leaving that entire area unchecked.

Homebuyers trust inspectors to protect them from exactly these types of hazards. This company failed completely. Avoid them and hire someone who actually takes accountability and does a thorough job.

UPDATE: This company most definitely lies, the photos of my joists and subfloor in my report are NOTHING compared to what I found after moving in and they most definitely sent me an NDA to sign in exchange for ONLY a refund on my inspection. Their inspector Iran Arango did not tell me anything close to the extent of the damage I was going to be dealing with and their lead inspector was just as useless, when they sent him out to review Irans job, all he did was stand around and take maybe two pictures, he didn't even actually look at anything unless I got down and pointed at it for him. I have had lawyers review everything from start to now of the purchase of this house, this company thinks they can get away with what they do (more like DON'T do). They can keep my $809 inspection money because it doesn't even put a dent in what their sad excuse of an inspection has put me through.

I was shocked to see the level of detail provided in the inspection report. The inspector was very well educated on all aspects of homes and I have no doubt he captured any current or future issues. Matt did a fantastic job in the inspection process and took the time to explain potential problems each issue can cause. My expectations were exceeded. I am speechless. In a world where it is difficult to find contractors with integrity, I am so thankful to have found the best inspection firm I could ever imagine. Thank you so much!

I had a home inspection done by My City Chattanooga Home Inspector for my upcoming house purchase. They were very timely, professional, and great to work with. Joseph, who performed the inspection, called me immediately after the inspection was done (I could not attend the inspection), and gave me a very thorough report. And then later that day, send me the written report. I highly recommend this group!

Scott was thorough, an expert, and a great guy. We even had the pleasure of having Katie stop by during our inspection! They sent us a 62 page report with TONS of photos within 24 hours of the inspection. Not only did they send this but Scott spent a long time explaining what he was putting in the report to us before he left. He asked multiple times if we had anymore questions and gave us his cell number to text/call if we had any after he left. Above and beyond. We felt very taken care of for such a big life purchase.

This is well worth any cost (and it was very affordable). It is one of the biggest purchases someone will make in their life and the inspection is the sole thing you can have done that makes you know if it is a good or bad decision. Do not hesitate or shop around for inspectors, THIS company is the smart choice!

Amazing company to work with. The process was not only easy and pleasant, but also saved us from making a bad deal. We received lower quotes on services, but the price was matched! Our inspector, Matt Williams, was patient when we asked questions and/or did not fully understand the issue. Had to have 2 different home inspections done. Sierra did the 1st one and did a great job explaining everything to me and answering all my questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone. I did not get to speak with inspector but his report was very informative and I was able to understand it. Will recommend this company to anybody needing a home inspection done.

Everything about the inspection went great. The intro videos on their website were helpful.
I chose to call to request the inspection (rather than schedule ) so I could talk over the options. The person in the office (Jessica), was knowledgeable and pleasant.
As Malcolm Godwin says on their website, they are more expensive, but they do a better job. The house we had put an offer on was just at the age where HVAC, roof, etc. needed to be replaced. There was also evidence of termites, and I wanted to check for radon, etc. I’m the kind of person who values quality. And I had a high-quality experience with this company.

The thing I am most excited to tell about was working with Scott Walters. The house had three stories, a huge crawlspace, attic spaces. Scott was super thorough, focused, and expert.
The house took longer than expected to inspect, and he worked into the evening to get it done thoroughly, despite the fact that I overheard him say he had some personal appointments to get to that evening.
He didn’t talk much during the inspection, (he was hustling), but at the end he took time to show us the most pressing issues. Everything else he put into a very detailed 80-page report, complete with pictures to back everything up.
We were armed with the information we needed to make wise decisions regarding the house. We called a roofer and HVAC guy to give us a second opinion. Scott was right!
We tried to negotiate with the seller, but eventually decided not to purchase the house. We feel so relieved that we didn’t get in over our head.

These guys are awesome and definitely know their stuff, especially Scott! The report we got after the house inspection and sewer scope was very thorough and detailed. It included pages and pages of high quality pictures and videos with detailed descriptions explaining everything. I would definitely recommend my City Chattanooga Home Inspector for anyone buying a home or even if you're concerned with something in your own and don't know where to start. We got the house on which we had made an offer to purchase inspected by My City Chattanooga Home Inspector. We were not considering them for the home inspection because they were more expensive than most other home inspection service providers. In talking with their sales person we changed our mind after realizing the depth of their service, attention to the details, and their independent nature. I shadowed the inspector from start to finish. This inspector, Shawn Sandberg, was very thorough, methodical, and took his time in checking out every little details of this house. We received their report the same day. I would highly recommend them if you want to get your future home inspected. Will you spend a little more? Yes, but missing some deficiency can potentially cost you much more than that amount.
