Home Services reviews in Memphis, Tennessee

Terminx has to be the most unresponsive company we’ve ever encountered. Their lack of commitment and customer service is completely unacceptable. We’ve called multiple times and have elevated our concerns numerous times and we get no call back from the general manager. The worst company ever. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Very quick to charge new costumers and get them signed up and after that, their unresponsive to calls, emails, voicemails.

The tech came out. We had a bug problem and service was horrible just put down sticky traps and he sprayed with a can spray called back to office told them what happened the buga got worst called back anf they sent the same tech and he did nothing put hia handa on his hip and did nothing to help because he was called back out to do hia job on a Saturday after i paid all that money for no service. Now he trying to cancel my service when service wasn't met from the technician.

Only 1 star because I can't put less. Charge your card religiously but the service not near as good as the billing. Used stuff from eBay that worked far better. What really got me is I cancelled and they billed me anyway and never even came out.

Awful company to deal with. Took me 8 months to get their billing mistake corrected. Have another billing issue since 07/15/24. Showed up when we cancelled service. Continually bills us. Sent another bill dated with a service date of 7/31/24 but the invoice is the same as the 7/15/24 invoice. Its been turned to collections, but not without a dispute from us. Would be nice if we could get help from the Corporate Office because calling the Largo, Maryland facility is useless. Negative 5 stars.

If ONLY I can give them NO STARS!!!!
Was told that I would get a call back from the manager due to a lack of extermination, ants fleas, and other stuff that was suppose to be treated. Never received a call from the tech. Called the office on may 20th 2025 and was told I would receive a call from management. NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK!
Then was scheduled for a new tech on May 31st, 2025 and NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP. Just called Terminex and they're refusing to get a manager to help us out.
This company is a.scam and I will be reporting them to the BBB I WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS DISGUSTING UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE! BEWARE WITH THIS COMPANY. -
Update:
Never call Terminix for an ant problem—they will mislead you and make it seem worse than it is. Find a local, honest pest control company. What should’ve been a basic 1-time ant treatment turned into their rep pushing my wife into $157/month in contracts and nearly $500 in upfront fees. Then at 10:30PM, he texted me defending his actions and claiming he never mentioned termites. I have proof.
Terminix allowed this to happen and has shown no accountability. This wasn’t a misunderstanding—it was a highly questionable sales tactic. You could end up stuck in overpriced plans you didn’t want, and then be told it’s your fault. We are filing complaints with the BBB, the Massachusetts Attorney General, and disputing the charges. If you value your money and peace of mind, look elsewhere.
Original Review:
This is a warning about our experience with Terminix and their representative, Justin. We reached out for help with an ant problem, nothing more. Instead, Justin came to our home and persuaded my wife to sign a $1,200 termite treatment agreement using alarming and inaccurate statements like “ants eat termites” and encouraging her to “Google it.” This misinformation led to us being sold a service we didn’t ask for or need.
Let me be crystal clear: We do not have termites. We never called about termites. We only wanted ant control.
After my wife signed the agreement (thinking the $325 payment was a termite down payment), I called Justin the same day to cancel. I pointed out the inaccuracies and told him we had no interest in termite treatment. He agreed it would be canceled and said we’d only be charged $57/month for ant service. We thought the issue was resolved.
Then the next day, we saw a $325 charge on our credit card. When I called Terminix, I was told it was for the ant service—not termites. That was never explained to us. The pricing was unclear, and this added confusion felt deliberate.
When I spoke with customer service, the response was simply: “Your wife signed it, sir.” There was no concern about the rep’s conduct, no apology, and no resolution offered.
The technician who came out confirmed we did not have termites and said the termite recommendation didn’t make sense. Still, no one at Terminix followed up or took responsibility.
We’ve been customers for years and have spent thousands on rodent and nesting services at this same location. This is how we were treated?
We are asking for the following:
A full refund of the $325 charge, which we believe was applied under misrepresented circumstances (a $114 charge was also made but seems to have been reversed).
Written confirmation that all contracts are canceled.
Proof that the only active agreement is the $57/month ant plan and that no additional charges will occur.
If this is not resolved within 48 hours, we’ll be:
Filing formal complaints with the MA Attorney General, BBB, and Consumer Protection.
Sharing this experience publicly across Google, Yelp, Facebook, and other consumer platforms.
Disputing the $439 total as an unauthorized charge with our credit card company.
This experience was disappointing and has damaged our trust in this company. We’re sharing this not just for ourselves, but to make others aware so they don’t end up in a similar situation.
We’re willing to continue at the original $57/month rate if the refund is issued and expectations are clarified. Otherwise, we’ve canceled all services and are prepared to take further action if necessary. -
My home inspector recommended Terminix for a termite inspection (I guess it's a separate service in Tennessee). It took a minute to get the inspection scheduled, but they did the job efficiently, providing me with the peace of mind I needed.

I was a loyal customer over a year and a half. My wallet got stolen so the card I had on file no longer went through . Once I received a new card and requested a resumption in services. An inspector came out and said oh we don’t install with foam under the house. Well I always had foam. So I called the office in Houston Texas and now the run around begun. Michael S. a supervisor informed me he would escalate this matter and someone would get back in contact within 24hours. A week went by and I spoke with nasty Tracy C. Who refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor because I was no longer paying them every month for a service that I should never have used. I have requested a refund with Michael S. So now I will see if I can dispute a year worth of charges for a fake service that Terminix did not have the knowledge to provide. If you need pest control use Orin or Bullwark. Terminix doesn’t even have a BBB rating

I'm not happy with the billing process. The first person I spoke to was a female. She said I owed for several months. She typed or I could hear typing the whole conversation. Frustrating. The second guy told me he had prompts to read and could not research or resolve. The third call was the helper. She explained four billing cycles for different services. It is still confusing. There should be one bill, with each service broken down. I've had to buy my own stuff with wedding funds.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service and No Resolution
I hired Terminix in New Jersey to address a raccoon issue in my attic, but after three visits, the problem was never resolved. Each time, the technician arrived unprepared—either without the proper-sized ladder or the right trapping equipment. Rather than addressing the actual issue, he simply sprayed disinfectant in the attic and left without communicating what was done.
Despite multiple follow-ups, I continued to receive vague excuses. One scheduled appointment was especially frustrating: instead of a technician coming to resolve the issue, I received a call from a sales representative—completely unrelated to the service I needed.
I paid over $1,000 and still have the same problem I started with. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others to explore more reliable wildlife control companies before choosing Terminix. -
I paid $2,022.48 for their 2 year plan. This includes 8 quarterly visits. After 5 of the visits they were sending me bills for about $600.00 that they said I owed to renew. I paid in full at the beginning. I tried to get into my account online and it comes up they don't show active contract.( That's because they quit coming). I am owed 3 more quarterly visits, not that they were doing any good. For eg. one of the poison dispensers they planted in the yard for termites and carpenter ants , well little piss ants made an ant hill right on top of it.I have a video for them of it. One visit the guy knocked at the door then left and I got the what we found today from him in an email and he didn't check anything. I sent a tape of him to Terminix and to the salesman and got no response and they had the nerve to send that guy back again. Save your money and don't ever pay in full up front to anyone. You can kill more bugs with canned spray for 5$ a can and $2,000 will buy a lot of cans. They (blanked) me with my pants on and I'm old enough to know better(65).

UPDATED:
Still Billing Me After Admitting I Don’t Owe Them
I bought my home earlier this year and immediately started receiving bills from Terminix addressed to “New Homeowner” for termite bait system services I never requested or authorized. I never had a contract with them.
After filing a complaint with the Arkansas Attorney General, Terminix formally responded in writing stating I had no balance, no account, and would not be contacted again. Problem solved, right?
Nope. I just received another bill, now marked “PAST DUE”, for the same unauthorized service — even after they told the AG’s office they wouldn’t contact me again.
This isn’t a billing error — it’s a pattern of behavior. If you’re a new homeowner, double-check your mail. They seem to rely on people paying these invoices without realizing there was never an agreement in the first place.
I wouldn’t trust this company with anything. Document everything and go straight to your state attorney general if this happens to you.

Unsolicited Billing — No Contract, No Service, Still Getting Bills
I bought my home in March and have never had any agreement with Terminix — yet they keep sending me monthly bills for a “Termite Bait System” I never asked for, never authorized, and do not want.
They send these invoices addressed only to “New Home Owner” at my address, hoping I’ll just pay for services I never agreed to. It’s wasteful, misleading, and unethical.
I’ve tried to tell them to stop, and I’ve never seen them actually perform any service here — yet the bills keep coming.
New homeowners, double-check your mail and do not pay for anything you didn’t sign up for. I wouldn’t trust any company that thinks this is acceptable business practice. -
The reason why I’m giving these guys a bad review is because of their customer service as well as their fake promises and the breach of contract they end up putting the bait stations around my home and I end up having some termites in my home that was eaten up my wood floor They came over and did a floor test said it’s because I had a little water damage moisture in my floor and by my front door, I told them that it wasn’t like that when I left and I came back from out of town then they proceeded after I had a video termites inside of my home then they then they say That my the reason why I end up having termites because I had water and I told them that there’s they trying to make every excuse in the book not to write up a claim for termites to replace my floor. I believe that termite Terminix is not a good company. I believe they’re not trusted. I believe they’re only in for the money I paid $1000 to put down Terminix bait stations then they gonna try to charge me. That’s what that which is their words to charge me to put the trench around my home and after in the insurance policy supposed to said that hey if you have no questions, ask if you’re not having termites or something like that, you know we’re gonna take care of it and then try to offer me a pest control on top of that And you know I just don’t believe that they’re the best company at all. I really believe that they owe it to the Memphis area in every Terminix company. I’m highly upset and disrespected in my own home. The CEO and the CFO should be the same of the shelves as human beings for this type of company.

So far No Good. 3 visits still have a problem in Baltimore. After 4 months the rodents came back to my wall. My house is 120 years old. The first technician was fine. The last two, not so much. If I have to hear I didn’t observe any activity again I’ll pull my hair out. Scheduling is disorganized. A tech showed up and the supervisor hadn’t called me to confirm the follow up. We have been on a 2000 dollar rodent control plan with a year guarantee for 5 months and no resolution. The techs need more training! Supervisors need to follow up and not ignore calls!
This is a nightmare experience. As of 8.12.25, we have not heard back from management regarding our rodent issues! -
If I could give 0 stars I would. This company charged me twice and never rendered service of any kind. They sent a bill saying they sent a tech who serviced the exterior of my house and no one has even been to my house. Check your cameras people because if you have services provided by Terminix your probably not even getting service done properly and being charged anyway. 👎

😡For about 3 weeks me and Terminix have been going back and forth over my attic insulation work. The price of this work was $10300 which I paid in full. This is the before and after of the work that was done to say I am displeased and want and all my money back is an understatement. Yes I contacted them they agreed to fix it and did not fix it. Yes I’m getting my money back asap. I hired and wanted professionals this is what I got. 😡😡😡 Trash and just a mess. Who was suppose to clean this. Why?

First, I keep receiving texts from Terminix techs saying they are coming to my house for an appointment the next day. These are appointments that I have NEVER requested. My original appointment, the technician did not show up within the time slot, and I missed time from work for NOTHING. Ever since they've been reaching out with appointment times that I have NOT requested. Tonight, I got a text from PHILIP CLARK saying he was coming to my house for an appointment. I responded that I will not be home and he needs to not show up. He then calls me and for the first time someone explained that the service requires 3 appointments from three different techs. Terminix NEVER communicated this to me. Philip asked if he could still come out for the appointment. I said no because I am sick of the poor communication from Terminix. Philip then got emotional and told me don't go online and set appointments I don't want then hung up in my face like the rude crybaby he is. Again, I never requested an appointment beyond the first one that didn't show up. Nobody at this business can explain why appointments are being set for me that I did not request. I'm glad I told him no because I wouldn't want someone like him in my home anyway. Philip is the reason I will never use Terminix.
