Would not recommend. Needed a simple outlet added to above my fireplace. Discount Electrical Service came for less than 5 minutes, said it couldn't be done and charged me $35 for coming out. Had another company come out 30 minutes later and said it was a simple job and did the work. This company was too lazy to do the job and didn't want to work. Instead they charged me $35 and left. I am not one to complain and have never left a bad review in my life. I gave the company the benefit of doubt and called to explain my frustration. All I hoped for was a refund as they lied about the job not being doable and charged for a "quote" that took 5 minutes. They forwarded my call to the owner. I left a message. Never heard back. I called again more than 5 days later. Left another message. Never heard back. I have been patient and given it time for someone to get back to me on this. It's been days since my last voicemail so I'm resorting to leaving a bad review and contacting BBB. Very disappointed in this company.

Turned out to be a complicated issue. They got it fixed and the problem corrected. Will use them again.

If you need a permitted inspection for the electrical work within the Town of Smyrna, TN, I would not recommend using this contractor. They up charged for the permitted inspection and were unable to get it filed due to issues with no having or able to provide proof of worker's compensation insurance. If they were honest about their inability to pull a permit within the town of Smyrna, TN, we would have selected another contractor instead of waiting 2 months for them to make excuses as to why they do not have worker's compensation insurance or why the permit was not pulled. The owner did suffer a personal loss, and we were very patient and graceful in that regard. Yet, the services could not be completed timely as promised and charged for. As a result, we have to select another electrical contractor for the permitted inspection. Very dissatisfied and frustrated by this process.

These guys were amazing! The person I’d originally hired canceled on me a half hour before the 8am job, and these guys made it to me that same morning shortly after I called them. I bought a house a few months ago that some missing gfis, and several outlets and switches that didn’t work, and I also needed some new outdoor and crawl space outlets installed. When they were working on that they ended up finding exposed wire the sellers were supposed to have taken care of but didn’t, some really weird dangerous DIY wiring, annnd that the breaker didn’t trip like it should, so they then also covered the exposed wiring, redid all my outlets and switches, and replaced the suuuuper old panel. And they got a fan wired and put up, too. They were so sweet, I feel much safer now, and I am SO GRATEFUL.

10/10 would recommend. Good pricing, great work, and a very honest local company. Used for commercial lighting and got pricing 1/3 the price of other corporate electricians. They allowed me to provide my own material saving even more. Scheduling and payment terms were simple and not over complicated. Will use again when needed. We had the best experience with the technician Milo on July 20, 2024. Milo came out to fix our breaker box. He was professional, knowledgeable, and very courteous. He fit us in on a Saturday, and he was able to restore our power in a matter of minutes. We couldn’t be more thankful for the team at Discount Electrical and the top tier service we received.

This company has a lot of people with a bad disposition and cancelled an appointment because I asked for another technician to come!!
Do not use them as they are arrogant and acted like they were doing me a favor!
Their quote was almost double what other electricians have quoted me since. To boot they guy kept telling me it was going to be 700 dollars without any breakdowns and in materials we were talking about some cables and connectors! He also kept repeating that I had to pay 50% upfront or else they wouldn't come blah blah. Just terrible!!

I made the appointment the guys showed up gave me a fair estimate came back a few days later to fix the outlets . when I got home I checked the outlets upstairs and they did not work so I called the guys back to fix my original outlet issue from June its now Sept with little to no response its been a few months after paying twice I would not recommend this company for Lavergne area

I called for an estimate, and they sent someone out that day. I needed a wire run from the outside of the house to a well about 130 feet away. The technician was unsure of what would need to be done. If they could hook to a breaker on the outside of the house the cost was going to be 500.00. If they needed to go under the house and connect to a different breaker box, it would be an additional 225.00. He got this information over the phone from the owner. They said they could work me in that afternoon if I paid upfront. I paid the total 725.00 by credit card and was told if they did not need to go under the house, they would credit the 225.00. That afternoon the electricians arrived and determined within seconds they would not need to hook up under the house, they could hook to the breaker on the outside of the house. I made them aware I should receive a 225.00 credit and they said, no problem they would take care of it. A couple days went by, and I had not heard from them. I called and spoke to the receptionist about my credit, and she assured me the owner would call me later that afternoon. A couple more days went by without a call, so I called again. I spoke with the same lady, and she assured me again the owner would call on Monday. Well Monday has come and gone a couple of times with no phone call. I would definitely not recommend doing business as they literally stole 225.00 from me.

The men installing 3 ceiling fans were great. Very polite, professional and knowledgeable. Made sure I was informed of everything they were doing. Worked in a very timely manner, and fans looked great after installation. Cost of installation was very reasonable. I highly recommend Discount Electrical Service.
