Electrical reviews in Austin, Texas

Screwed up EV install. Intermittent loss and then came once to "fix" it. Equivalent quality to unlicensed, might as well save money at that point.

They arrived within the time frame they stated they would, did the work requested very well, answered questions politely, and generally went the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. I would hire Dunman Electric again.

I had Dunman wire my new shop. For the work they did, WAY over priced. Hired a different electrical to finish the job and he found Dunman labeled and wired my 50 amp welding plug incorrectly. Could have killed me and burnt my shop down.
-
I had a bad GFI out at a HOA entry where we had installed holiday lights. There was no address for the entry which baffled the computer dispatching and scheduling systems used by multiple companies. Dunman had no problem figuring things out and got the job done the next day.

Dunman Electric knows how to get things done through the City of Austin and its permitting process which can be a real hassle. They did a complex job well and in a professional manner. I would use them again. Thanks to everyone at Dunman!

I hate giving negative reviews.
This is for work done in 2009. His technicians took a $100 Surefire flashlight, stuck gum on top a brand new ceiling fan, and didn't follow their own workscope for installing copalum wire nuts. I only found the gum because the fan ended up FALLING DOWN off the ceiling after they did their work and that is when I saw the gum stuck on one of the blades (I had originally installed the fan a couple weeks earlier). In 2012 we had a electrical short with a flash in a receptacle that was supposed to have had the copalum wire nuts and SURPRISE, no copalum wire nuts. This was not a receptacle that was hidden behind furniture or had difficult access. It was clearly visible, and unobscured on a bathroom wall.
Mr. Dunman is a stand-up guy and gave us a discount on the work and paid for the flashlight in 2009. I did not have them fix their mess in 2012 because I had no confidence in their work. I just feel bad that he is stuck dealing with such a poor labor pool, I suppose he may need better screening methods to weed out the derelicts, but all small businesses run this risk. -
After trying to find a reputable electrician I came across the reviews for Dunham Electric. Josh and Cody came out today and did a wonderful job. They also helped break up a dog fight when neighbors huge dog came down. They stood between them and helped save my Zander. I can’t say enough good things about them. I highly recommend Dunham Electric. Thanks so much. Trish

Mike kept me informed from start to finish. There was a delay due to the placement of a carport post and we resolved it painlessly. I am proud of the work done by Dunman Electric and will gladly call Mike for any future electric services.

If you want to be ripped off this is the company for you. They sent out an unqualified electrician who struggled for 7 hours for change 10 switches. When I complained, they just ignored me. Also they took some of my fixtures and never returned them.

Every time I need something electrical done, I know that I can count on Dunman Electic to get the job done! Inside, outside or poolside- they have done it all for us and we have always been happy with their service.
I would recommend them highly.
And, Becky is always a joy to speak to on the phone. -
These guys did a garbage job. Conduit is just hanging, exposed. We asked for CAT6. They installed CAT6 conduit but installed CAT5 terminations/end points, limiting our max speed. Marked up the CAT6 conduit ten times the retail price that you pay for the exact same product at Home Depot. Billed our credit card without authorization before providing an invoice. Overall, a horrible experience.

Jason arrived at 8:01 for an 8-10 am window and from then on everything went smooth. Wonderful service from the get go on the phone and Jason was a total professional and knowledgeable expert. Additionally he was right under his time estimate and very happy to explain anything in great detail. Best part is everything works like a charm. I would definitely recommend dunman electric.

It can be very hard to rate electricians, bc really, how often does one person really use one? However, I'm a real estate agent, and have sent several clients their way. My clients have all given me great feedback and let me know that they have good communication and top-notch service. Thank you Dunman for taking care of our folks!

Excellent service from the initial phone call, to the actual service call, until the follow-up phone call from Dunman. The electricians were professional, discussed options, and presented a better idea than what I had asked for originally...and it cost less than what my idea would have cost! I highly recommend Dunman Electric and will use them again if I need electrical work again.

As a real estate agent in Southwest Austin professionalism is part of my decision process when I refer someone to my clients. Dunman Electric has always handled my clients professionally and fairly. Because of this I don't mind referring them again and again. I deal with a lot of vendors. You can trust these people

Would never have paid $170/hr. + $35 trip fee if I knew that the “two-installer deal” was a very slow trainee getting onsite training at my expense, basically. The job was very simple - just reconnect a cable to a meter and strap to foundation. When I saw it required an hour just to connect the cable, I ended the job early. Needed only a drill and screwdriver, but he had tool sets strewn across the yard. When I pointed out the job was a lot simpler than they were making it, the lead would reply, ”we got this, let us do our job,” etc. Called to speak to manager twice and never received a call back.

Dunman Electric is a "GO TO" kind of company. Nothing ever changes and thank goodness. My appointment was set, honored and follow-up on. The guys showed up on time and knocked out a bunch of small projects. It is so hard to find anyone to do "the small stuff". Not here. Once on site they worked fast and efficient. Pricing was fair as it always it. Keep these guys in your Rolodex.

The tech that came out to survey my project and make a bid was really nice and I would have been happy to go with them. However, the person that sent me the bid and then responded to my emails was rude and never got back to me. I paid $100 for the consult and estimate and then had a question because the bid only included one outlet and I needed two. I was told that the bid was "verbatim" what the tech had said. I replied that that is fine, and I am happy to pay more for an additional outlet but never heard back. I thought with a $100 fee just to get a bid that I would get better costumer service, but apparently not. :(

From my experience with this company do not trust them when they advertise on their website for a free quote. We ended up paying $79.00 for a trip fee for the tech to come out and give us the free quote. Aside from that the tech was courteous and professional and his van has a great paint scheme on the side.

This is the second time I have used Dunman Electric for minor electrical work and each time they were on time, professional and competent. Today Wesley replaced several GE Z-Wave switches that apparently were damaged during recent series of power outages. I had already purchased the replacement switches, but they were both in 3-way configurations that I struggled to understand. Wesley easily replaced all the bad switches and I deleted the old ones from my system software and added the replacements. He also corrected a poor connection I had made in the white white circuit. Everything works properly at the switch and through Alexa. Thanks Dunman Electric and especially Wesley.

We had Dunman Electric come out and change all of our pool lights. We first had a pool company come out and they spent the entire day here and were unsuccessful--they were unable to pull the wire through the conduit in the ground. So the next day we had Dunman Electric come out and in a matter of an hour (maybe hour and 1/2 tops!) they got the entire job done. And here's the kicker, they charged us less money than the pool company charged us (even though they got nothing accomplished). So if you need lights done on your pool, skip the pool company and call Dunman first! I promise you will be happy (and pay less too)!
