I wanted to update this review but found you can only have one a
tive review at a time. So I decided that I would restate my original review of “Every individual at this company is wonderful; cleaning, technician, office people. You can feel how much they work as a team to provide for their customers. We have used other pool services but this is the best by far!” This has continued to be the case month after month. I think knowing how a business performs over time is important.

HCP are an incredible group of pool professionals. We moved into a house with a nearly 20 year old pool and they have been wonderful in helping us modernize and implement updated systems and keep everything looking great and functional.

We had a lot of problems with our pool leaking water and they were able to diagnose and find us a great and economic solution when the time came to put in a new surface. I would highly recommend them for routine maintenance and upgrades and repairs

Great team, and incredible customer service that is focused to getting things right. They are great to follow up, provide options and solutions if you need any repairs or work done, and give you helpful details so you know what to expect. They leave a note on your door to let you know they came by, and any helpful notes if needed on how your pool is doing. I recently needed a new part installed in my pool, and they were great about finding an affordable option for me and install it in time for a pool party I was having. Thank you HCP, keep up the great work!

I tried a number of different services before being able to get in with Hill Country Pools. I would see their trucks in the neighborhood and their service techs were spending double or triple the time on people's pools than my previous company did. Since signing up with them, I've been thrilled with their response times and the service. They are very communicative about what they did and what needs to be done. When I have needed service, it is performed quickly. While not the cheapest option in town, you absolutely get what you pay for!

Hill Country Pools has been taking care of us since 2009. They are always thorough and helpful with cleaning and adding any extra chemicals needed when I run out. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they always communicate when I might need a service job. They always provide extra notes about the pool and supervisors occasionally visit to check everyone's work. As long as they continue to do right by us, we plan to stick with them.

DO NOT GET SUCKED IN BY THIS COMPANY! They claim you need and charge you for unnecessary services and then send you a bill with 10% higher charges than even their quoted exorbitant fees. Even their own employees have confirmed their fraudulent practices. Life’s too short to have to deal with a shady pool company!

I had a frustrating experience with this service. They downplay the amount of work needed, send a different tech each time, and do things out of order. This results in them having to return multiple times, which means more charges for you. When questioned, they make a weak attempt at justifying by sending screenshots of emails where you agreed to the work.

I would have preferred if they had just told me upfront that it would cost $1,000 to clean my pool so I could make an informed decision. Instead, they keep billing me and email me on the day of service that they need to come back again and again. When I specifically asked the very first tech about the cost, he dodged my question, saying, “the pool is not that bad,” while on the back end emailing me about how “neglected” it is and that’s why they had to keep coming.

They should have informed me that it would take at least 2 hours a day for 4 days and cost over $1,000 to clean my pool properly.

They could have mentioned that I needed to fill my pool back up completely or rinse my filters before they started working. Will NEVER recommend - oh and Forrest the owner will never return your call. I paid them, they got over on me and I never want to hear their name again ✌️

I have been a customer of Hill Country Pools since 2005. The pool technicians are knowledgeable and professional. The entire HCP team has been wonderfully reliable and very client-centered in all of their services. I highly recommend them!

We did not have a good experience with Hill Country pools performing our pool inspection while under contract on our home out in Steiner ranch. Their report after the inspection was bare bones and was not thorough to say the least. Our home inspector caught a gas leak coming from the pool heater that was not mentioned on the pool inspectors report. We also had concerns with the waterfall on the pool leaking. They didn’t even bother to turn on the waterfall during the inspection but rather just send us a photo of the build up from where it was leaking while the feature was on. I called to complain about the report but no one answered and I left a voicemail. It’s been 2 weeks now and still no call back! Do not use them for a pool inspection - complete waste of money! Even our realtor said she’s not going to recommend them to her clients going forward.

4/22/25 Update: We did get in touch with Wade to remedy the situation and he was great to work with! He sent us an updated report and went back out to the house to give us an estimate on some repairs.

Great staff, great communication, trustworthy!!

I have used hill country pools for almost 10 years now. They are fantastic! Not only do I use them for repairs, but also for biweekly pool cleaning. My pool is always sparkling clean, and any issues are caught when they are still just minor issues and not a major problem.

The techs don't need you to be home when they service your pool, but they always leave a note on the door detailing what was done. They have always been honest, and the techs always leave everything cleaned up and the gate closed. They are also very experienced in their field and can easily answer any questions I may have when they are here.

Communication from their office is also efficient and friendly. Whether you call or email their response time is quick, and the staff is always knowledgeable and able to answer your questions.

Overall l give this company 10/10 (as I have for years) for a quality experience that's no drama and no hassle.

HCP Construction recently completed a renovation of our pool and we couldn't be happier with the quality of work, friendly service, and responsiveness. We have a challenging site and our community has stringent construction rules, HCP and all their workers followed our requests/the rules at all times. We had 3 bids and while HCP wasn't the least expensive they were able to start immediately, were on-time, on budget, and super efficient. Highly recommend and will keep utilizing HCP and their maintenance arm of the business.

Hill Country Pools service is absolutely the best. Whether its a regular cleaning or troubleshooting something unknown, they are always available to assist and ensure our needs are met (and any issues quickly resolved). They also are flexible and are proactive in helping their customers stay ahead of seasonal changes.

Hill Country Pools has done an immaculate job of managing two pools for us--one in North Austin and one in South Austin. Our service technician arrived on the same day each week for the cleaning service and left the pools spotless with balanced chemicals. What I've most appreciated about their operation is the excellent communication. Because one of these was a rental home, Hill Country Pools left a door tag documenting service for our tenants and also emailed us a summary of what work was done, if any parts were needed, and if the pool needed water.
