Our first visit today from Sergio was just beyond excellent. He was very straightforward and clear about services, options, pricing, and processes. The work he did for us today was fast but thorough, and his explanations of what he did and what other options we might have made us secure in our choice of PreFix and confident that we can trust Sergio and PreFix in general to handle our maintenance needs in the most efficient and effective way possible. We couldn't be happier about our decision to use the services of Pre-Fix.

I canceled my service due to the lack of follow-through, poor workmanship, and substandard quality from the Prefix team.

In total, I estimate that I spent over $2,000 on projects that were poorly executed, requiring me to hire additional third-party contractors to complete the work.

For example, insulation work was done in such a way that it blocked all of our vent intake and did not get to then R-value quoted, forcing me to hire HVAC and insulation companies to resolve the issue. This alone cost me over $3,000, on top of what I had already paid PreFix.

Another instance involved a bathroom tub repair, where the team simply caulked over the issue instead of addressing the underlying problems with plaster and grout. The caulk separated just months later, and I ended up paying over $300 for that work.

The weather stripping was another issue—despite paying a significant amount for the job, it broke off soon after due to improper installation.

I also contracted the team for painting and drywall work, which had to be completely redone, causing disruptions to my daily routine. The same painter painted and recaulked the exterior despite my warning about upcoming rain and high humidity and that we should reschedule. Predictably, the work cracked and now has to be redone. I spent over $1,000 on that project alone.

These are just a few examples of the numerous issues I encountered. A majority of the projects were mismanaged and completed incorrectly. I ultimately canceled my plan to stop wasting money on subpar work, compounded by the lack of accountability from management.

I heard about PreFix by getting an advertisement mailer. I went to the website to check what they were all about and was amazed at the concept and business plan. After the introduction call from Dean, I signed up the same day.
My first job for them was to replace a faulty Garbage disposal and all the pvc piping under my sink. I was able to get an appointment in less than week. Sergio did a super job and completed it all in less than 2 hours. I will never go back to one of the so called expert home repair companies I've used over the years. We've had Pre-Fix for our home about three years and it is very reassuring to have experts one can call on a moment's notice. They have done many jobs at the house--weather stripping, replacing grout, fixing dishwasher gasket, recommending house painters, recommending tile repair folks. We've always been happy with those results. Sergio is our new home manager and was quick to fix our washing machine when another tech inadvertently broke the timing mechanism when doing routine maintenance. Pre-Fix took responsibility, Wayne came immediately to investigate on a weekend, and then Sergio came on a holiday to begin the repair. He communicated clearly throughout the process, and even fixed our dryer handle-which had been broken since before we moved into the home--in the process. No one in my family is skilled at home repair and we are grateful for this service!

Prefix membership helped a lot in keeping the home free of any repairs and damages. They are quick to respond and take a look at the problem. I have been using them for more than 3 years, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I have recommended them to multiple friends as well.

These folks are HEROs!! They have saved us so many times over the years. We LOVE PreFix. My service tech just came out today for our preventative maintenance Friday AM. He caught our clogged AC condensate line before it overflowed. "A stitch in time, saves nine!" Thanks to PreFix we avoided water damage from a backed up condensate line, we avoided damage to our AC, and most importantly we avoided being without AC during this extreme heat!

On a separate occasion, a PreFix appliance technician did an innovative fix to our old washing machine that we couldn't get parts for... We've gotten so much more life out of that machine. For a $40 service call, we avoided having to buy a new washing machine. This is a smart and valuable service!

On another occasion, a PreFix technician fixed our garage door!

All the technicians are wonderful! Each person is knowledge, communicative, and honest. I always feel comfortable having them in my home.

We’ve been PreFix customers for over a year now and are huge fans! They’ve done an outstanding job with all of our home repair and handy person requests especially our home manager, Sergio. Not only is Sergio very professional, friendly and great at what he does but he is also extremely knowledgeable!

I have been using PreFix for a couple of years now. The twice yearly check up alone makes it worthwhile. Some of the things they do include check/change batteries for fire alarms, change water filter in the refrigerator, clean the dryer vent and so much more. As a full-time wheelchair user this maintenance makes my life easier.

We have been using PreFix for approximately 18 months and have been very pleased with their services. They complete routine maintenance every 6 months and then if there are any issues, they offer to assist with taking care of those as well. We have had to use some of their contract services for items that they found, and they are always on time and efficient as well. I highly recommend PreFix.

We’ve been using PreFix for several years, ever since they first opened up in Austin. They have helped us out with so many home improvents over the years. To name a few, they installed a mantle for our outdoor fireplace, replaced ceiling fans, and have given us advice and feedback on so many of our appliances. I live in San Antonio and I've been with Prefix, inc for a little over one year. Three-times they have done their periodic preventative maintenance at my house, and recently some repairs that I requested. I've found there work to be excellent and at a reasonable price. They certainly have my recommendation.

Update: Scheduling issues seem to be getting worse. They keep forgetting about appointments and wasting customers time.

The service is good in theory, but in practice their execution leaves much to be desired. I mostly wanted the service for convenience, but sometimes it's more of a headache than it is worth. I've had an electrical issue that needs to be fixed that is going on 5 months. I asked them to help me setup an appointment for vent cleaning, their contractor never once bothered to get in contact. Them sub-contracting things out is a horrible idea and usually results in them being a middle man for sub-par contractors. If you have anything outside small issues, you're better off calling a contract of your choice, yourself. Window repair also took months to do in the past, everything they do is a snails pace. I am a believer in the idea of their service, as I've referred multiple people in the past, but I'm constantly asking myself is it worth the monthly fee (which scales to house size) and the answer is increasingly looking like no. They also seem to be growing faster than they can handle. Scheduling a small maintenance takes over a month now and they just messed up scheduling, so mine is being pushed out another month. I would seriously considering just finding a handyman you can pay per visit as opposed to a monthly service, it just isn't worth it.

I signed up for PreFix a couple of weeks ago, and it's been amazing. My home manager is Sergio, whose emphasis on customer service and excellent handyman skills made my day! It's such a relief to have these little things around the house taken care of. The in-house carpenter, Phil, is able to repair my fence, rather than replace it, which is such a relief to me! Prefix is the best. I’ve been with them for about a year now and have nothing but positive feedback. If you are looking for a solid solution for a handyman for almost any project that’s vetted and reliable without much hassle, then this is your best bet. I was referred to them by a friend and couldn’t be happier after an exhausting year with a home warranty company. Prefix is a breath of fresh air.

I've been with PreFix for quite a while now, and it's wonderful. Every PreFix person who has worked at my house - putting up blinds, fixing plumbing problems, installing ceiling fans and lights, putting furniture together, doing maintenance checks, and more - has been excellent. Knowing that I can trust PreFix to help with the never-ending problems that pop up with my older house, at a reasonable and consistent cost, has given me great peace of mind. And I want to thank Sergio, who came to my house late on a Friday afternoon to fix a plumbing problem that turned out to be a cascade of problems involving aging pipes and fixtures. He told me he was staying until he fixed it all for me, and he did.

We have been with PreFix for a year now and I’d give them 10 stars, if possible! Their service people are amazing! Everyone has been both friendly and most importantly, KNOWLEDGEABLE! My husband and I are in our 70’s and cannot climb ladders to replace lightbulbs or smoke detector batteries in our soaring tall ceilings. Also, twice a year they change our A/C filter, fridge water filter, clean our garbage disposal, dishwasher, washer, dryer, lint filters - everything necessary to keep well-maintained appliances! As well as the twice a year “preventative maintenance”, they also offer other services such as electrical, plumbing, carpenter, even “handyman” services. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Terrible customer service and experience. Several services were incomplete and had to chase down customer service to get rescheduled or completed! Most recently requested hvac drain to be rerouted but only ended up with a $200 charge after two service calls for &79 and a couple
Float switched installed. Drain is still leaking from side of house. Not worth the headache
