Aqua Clear Pool Care is truly a top-of-the-line choice for pool owners. From equipment installs to weekly service, they’re experts through and through. I had them install a new pool heater. My last company constantly struggled to keep the pool clean, which ended up costing me thousands when the heater failed prematurely.
One of the biggest advantages with Aqua Clear is that they’re authorized warranty service providers for top brands. Not only do they provide detailed maintenance records to protect you if a manufacturer tries to deny a claim, but they also guide you on proper equipment usage so you don’t void your warranty by running it incorrectly or at the wrong times. That kind of protection is priceless.
Weekly cleanings are handled by Zachary Zapata, who does an excellent job keeping the pool in flawless condition. Even though I haven’t met him personally (the property is an Airbnb), his attention to detail and timely filter cleanings prevent disruptions. My guests always enjoy a perfect pool from top to bottom.
Another thing I am impressed with is how quickly they make services calls if any issue does pop up. Other companies takes 4-5 days. Not these guys. They are on site within 1-2 days in my experiences.
Also recently had them upgrade our pool with a spa control touchpad panel for guests. They customized it to our exact needs and guided me on exactly how to operate it.
If you own a pool, especially for an Airbnb or rental property, don’t risk it with second-rate companies. Aqua Clear keeps everything running smoothly, and protects your investment when it matters most.

Aqua Clear Tech Kenny did an excellent job troubleshooting and fixing a number of issues with my pool equipment. A stuck pump basket was wrestled out, after others failed to do so. And two leaking check-valves replaced, solving an ongoing issue. While onsite, Kenny completed scheduled filter cleaning, buttoning up the system ensure all in working order and left the worksite clean.

I have had mixed experience with other pool service companies, in terms of exorbitant pricing and lacking quality techs. Now 18 months with Aqua-Tech, having the attention of the company manager when major issues arise, and superior service like Kenny provided, I can whole-heartedly endorse Aqua-clear Austin for their value and quality.

Our pool tech, Zach, does an excellent job of servicing the pools at two of our properties. I appreciate his predictable, reliable schedule and the thorough job he always does! We’ve had a great experience working with him so far.

Aqua Clear recently installed a heat pump for me. Was a challenging job, as it needed to be lifted (350lb) over my AC condenser in a tight alleyway between my house and fence. They did an excellent job and the install went perfectly. The pump they recommended is great and I can now enjoy my pool with my family almost year round.

I also use them for weekly maintenance, they are always punctual and I get a report each week with my pools chemical test results and any additional work done. Definitely recommend!

Kenny came out to install a new pump. He was efficient, professional and made sure I knew how to use the new system before leaving. Very happy with the service.

In addition, Zach cleans my pool weekly and is THE BEST! I've had lots of cleaners over the years with other companies but Zach is communicative, consistent and always does a great job!

My pump failed 2-days into re-filling after having my pool re-plastered when keeping the water circulating and balancing chemicals is critically important for protecting the new surface. I called Aqua Clear and they immediately provided recommendations and quotes as options. Their technician, Kenny, arrived the next morning and very quickly installed the new pump and provided instructions to me as he programmed the timer. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient. Aqua Clear also submitted the application for City of Austin energy rebate for me. They may not be the least expensive option but I am confident it was my best. Highly recommend.

Aqua Clear Pool Care did an excellent job installing our new pool heater and very happy with my decision to work with them. Kenny handled the plumbing with skill and care, and left the area clean and tidy. Liam quickly completed the electrical, even coming out on a weekend to finish up the job and taking time to show me how to use the unit. They spent time to guide me through choosing the right system, and their prices were very competitive. Overall, I felt confident in their work and highly recommend them. Thanks for the awesome job!

Ken did a great job on replace my pool heater and pipes setting. He get great knowledge on the pool operation and can give best solution for my pool setting. I am great to have him to fix my pool problem.

Nate did an outstanding job cleaning our pool filter. He was an excellent communicator, arrived when he said he would and explained what he was doing to do and why. Nate completed the job in a professional and timely manner and followed up with photos of all parts of the cleaning process. This was our first time using Aqua Clear Pool Care they done a great job at a fair price and going forward we will certainly be using them again.

I found PreFix through USAA and so far I am excited to try out this company. I had a home manager come out to my house and introduce the company and what they do for no cost. He was very informative and so kind. This company comes and checks your appliances, things around the house, and has a repair man come to address the issues. I’ve used Prefix for years and they are amazing - they take all the frustration of getting home repairs and maintenance off my plate, it’s such a relief to have them there. Most recently, I had a washing machine repair at a rental property. Sergio got me updates quickly, cost estimates and even completed the repair more quickly than estimated! Cannot recommend them enough!

Our experience:

As new home owners we thought this would be a smart decision to learn about how to better take care of your house.

The technician we met was nice-enough, but by his own admission he was still in training. That's fine for a first intro visit, but when it came time to actually servicing the house it was still only the trainee with no supervisor. He wasn't able to even change the filter in our refrigerator and instead left a pool of water on our kitchen floor that he and I had to clean up for the remainder of the visit.

Since his supervisor didn't want to come to our house either (Friday at 3pm so he was done for the week, I guess) the trainee just left without actually servicing the house. Promised to come back, but after a few weeks we decided to cancel.

If this was the end of our experience I wouldn't be leaving a review. Things can be a bad fit and you can still move on amicably.

BUT when we cancel our service and you continue to charge our credit card that's a different story. First time, I let it slide, but you clearly are not actually closing out the account and are trying to charge our card without me noticing.

All in all, very shady experience. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Again-- another amazing save by this local team of professional and polite repair-people, PreFix.

I have been a Prefix client for a while now and I am always impressed with how quickly, effectively, professionally and politely they come to my home and help me with the current "disaster."

Sergio came out today -- a day early because he was "in the neighborhood" and resolved my kitchen disposal issue. He came in, assessed and repaired the problem. He was very polite and fixed everything quickly. I am so very grateful!

I signed up in the fall of last year. I had the fall maintenance which was great, they cleaned out things I would not have even known to check. Recently we had some items that needed attention. I contacted them and our home manager Homer came over and repaired grout in a bathroom, fixed a window seal, fixed a bathroom vent and offered solutions for some doors that needed repair. I strongly recommend PreFix, it will be well worth your money and time.

Our first experience with Prefix has been exceptional! Sergio turned up on time with a warm smile and professional nature. In the 2 hours he was here he fixed our leaking toilet, installed some under cabinet lighting, patched several holes and cracks in our walls and fixed our microwave! We really love Prefix already and we're looking forward to their next visit.

Where to begin, on paper this company creates the perception they do quite a lot. However, you are at the mercy of whichever "Home Mgr." shows up.

The two plus years I conducted business with Prefix I had multiple issues that to their credit sent people back to resolve the issue. Not ideal to have to schedule multiple appointments because their Home Mgr. broke something.

Prefix partners with third parties to do anything outside of the preventative maintenance. I made the poor choice to use them for an AC issue I experienced. The individual that showed up to my house had less than professional attire and proceeded to charge me close to $200 for a new capacitor. AC capacitors cost $13. I was working when the individual changed the capacitor and did not know this was happening until after the fact. Shady.

The most critical piece of advice I caution anyone who may be interested to start business with Prefix is to document EVERYTHING. During my last and final preventive maintenance the Home Mgr. broke my water filter by ripping it out that resulted in the plastic piece that holds the water filter in place to get stuck, which required me to have to move my fridge, turn the water off, empty my fridge, unscrew the entire water filter, remove the plastic piece, dissemble, reassemble, screw back in, turn the water back on, move the fridge, and place food items back in the fridge.

During the same preventative maintenance, which again, was my last and FINAL, the House Mgr. broke my smoke detector that resulted in causing it to continuously beep.

Here is the kicker, James Horton title as Central Operations Mgr. had the audacity to send me an email placing the blame on me.

The economy is heading to be what looks to be a significant recession, services like Prefix are typically the first to be cut in household budgets. Good luck to whoever owns Prefix when you have managers who blame paying customers for issues you create.

To the owners of Prefix, I actually requested the service to be cancelled after my last preventive maintenance but Sergio was so great at fixing the smoke detector issue that I gave you all a second chance.

However, the email I received from James placing blame on me 100% proved me right that severing my business with Prefix is absolutely necessary.

As first-time homeowners, PreFix has been a tremendous help for us with matters large and small for several years now. Homer is an outstanding Home Manager and we have gotten great help as needed from other talented folks on their team, as well as referrals to recommended contractors for HVAC, plumbing and other fields. PreFix is an outstanding service, highly recommended.

I don't know how I was ever a homeowner before PreFix! The twice-a-year home maintenance check ups give me such peace of mind that I'm doing everything I can to keep my home in good shape. I have had several service calls as well, and the team members are knowledgeable, prompt, efficient, and service-oriented. They have helped me become aware of issues I didn't know I had, and they quickly resolve the ones I do. If they don't immediately know how to solve a problem, they actually do the research and get back to you - no need to hunt them down like other home maintenance providers. I am so grateful to be a PreFix customer! The monthly fee is nominal and honestly a no-brainer for everything we get.

Sergio feels like a part of the family. He is personable, professional, and peaceful. My wife has a much better peace of mind knowing that our house will be taken care better than I can by ourselves (and so am I). We normally wait around the calendar for family or friends with know-how to show up to do things beyond my competence, but it feels way better to know we have a neighbor close, when our brother is far away. We left our visit excited (and relieved) for our next PreFix visit.

Prefix is an amazing company. They are quick, reliable and super friendly. They take care of my house like I would. They are available for emergencies. The price for the two point inspections is unbeatable. And if it couldn’t get better, their team is made jump of Veterans!

My home manager Sergio is simply awesome! He just fixed my washer and a light fixture with ingenuity and without costing me an additional cent. I highly recommend Prefix, but you can’t all have Sergio !
