Great guy and so helpful. Jon Soliz showed up prepped our tree wells mid day. He was professional by calling ahead of time, showing up on time, knocking out the job, and notifying me with a walk through before and after the job was done. Great customer service. My experience with him was healthy.

Adam and Tiffany were phenomenal!!! We had a very unique problem with our sprinkler system and Adam went above and beyond the call of duty, driving all over Austin chasing parts for our system and he got it done! Tiffany did a fabulous job working us in as I had explained to her that we are putting our house on the market and we were running out of time. She was so patient and very understanding and she jumped through hoops to get us on the schedule! After several hours of trouble shooting I was afraid of what our charges were going to be and when I spoke with Tiffany, I was beyond shocked at how reasonable our bill was. If you are looking for a company to work on your sprinkler system and/or lawns, look no more as North By Northwest Lawns is definitely the way to go! Thank you so much Adam and Tiffany for a job well done! I'm forever a customer!

I just had my first dealing with North by Northwest Lawns, but it won't be my last. Everyone I dealt with............ Tiffany, Jon and Brennen were 1st class in every way. It's so refreshing to do business with a company that does what they say they are going to do. It's obvious that they "get it" when it comes to customer service............punctual and professional. I will be needing more service on my landscaping and lawn in the future and I look forward to dealing with this company that holds itself to a high standard, in a field where there are so many options, but so few that exceed expectations, as they have in my case. Thank you.

While setting up the appointment was easy with Rose being very responsive, there was a serious breakdown in communication today(3/3/2020) as I waited for someone to come give an estimate. I waited 2 hours and had 3 different phone conversations. The first time I called, I was assured that someone would be on their way and that they had left at 10:05 AM (the appointment was from 10-11. Seeing as they were coming from north Austin, and I live in south Austin, I was ok with that, though worried about how much time I was taking off from work to make this appointment. At 11:05 I called again and was told that they would now call to check in on the worker. I wish they would have called earlier, but still, I'm understanding and willing to wait a little longer. I get a call back 10 minutes later saying that the person coming to get an estimate was called into a commercial project and would not be making the appointment today.

All of this could have been cleared up with a simple phone call at 10:30, I could have made it back to work and rescheduled. Things happen. Just frustrating that the call wasn't made to check in sooner rather than wasting a potential customer's time.

I understand they get most of their business from commercial projects, but until they can figure out a way to make sure communication doesn't break down, and that they actually have the staff to do residential project assessment, they shouldn't take on any requests for residential projects.

I needed a sprinkler system so I contacted Jay from North by Northwest Lawns because of a recommendation on Angies List. Jay came out the following morning at 7:00 am and on time, I provided him with a copy of a survey, he took some measurements and put together a quote for me later that afternoon. Jay mentioned the type of equipment that he would use, the 3 year warranty that he offered, along with a time frame to complete. After getting 3 different quotes from 3 different companies NXNW had the best warranty and the best price. No Brainer!!! I am very happy with the work that they did. The system that they installed is easy to operate and has the prefect head to head coverage. These guys know how to get the job and get the job done. No headaches, no excuses and no more watering all evening by hand. Thanks Jay!!!

Jay and his crew did a top notch job on our sprinkler system. Communication was very good and they verified everything was as specified, insured excellent coverage with a good design at a good value. I plan on taking advantage of other lawn/landscape services over years with NXNWL.

I just had them come out for the 1st time. We've got ~0.5 acres of yard/landscaping and it has gotten out of control (we just bought the house). On the 1st visit they (3 guys I think) spent ~3+ hours here working on everything and it looks great. Lots of bushes cutback so we can start the process of getting them taken care of correctly, lot of individual weeds treated, lots of edging, trimming and just a lot of work! I'm sure that I'll be pleased with their service going forward if this how they start off.

Jordan, Adam, and the team at NXNW did an exceptional job for us on our new backyard. We had several companies come out to quote the job for us - all seemed to be looking to make a quick dollar. We had a new build house that needed irrigation, dirt, leveling w/ proper grading, and grass. We received a very competitive offer from Jordan and he treated us like family with his recommendations - wasn't looking to just make a buck. On the grass type, I had done my research on what I thought would be best and Jordan actually mentioned the grass type while the other companies didn't seem to know it existed (FJ Select). When the time came to get the work done - amazed. Not only did they complete the job in 1 day, but they also went above and beyond with work actually performed. The builder seemed to have imported additional boulders to bury in the backyard, as the NXNW crew dug out enough to build a new house! While on the job, they also saw a front sprinkler head that needed repair. Without us even asking, this was taken care of for us. The yard looks amazing and I know the guys are only a call or text away. They are very responsive, very competitively priced, and do an amazing job while treating you as family all along the way. I highly recommend this company for any landscape needs you may have.

I contracted NXNW to replace my mother's fence about 4 years ago and they did a fantastic job. The crew was awesome and finished the job in a very timely manner. I also use NXNW at my place of employment to care for our flowers and mowing needs. 10/10 would definitely recommend to my friends.

After using a different service a few times in the past we decided to switch companies.

JOHN was our technician. He was promptly on time, an excellent communicator, and very detailed with his lawn and sprinkler system analysis.

We had several issues, and despite the heat and poor condition of our set-up, he expeditiously progressed from station to station, checking every sector carefully. We had an issue with a broken pipe that required a lot of digging and resolution, due to an underground rock that proved too large to realistically remove. We also had incorrect sprinkler heads, installed by a prior company that likely didn’t want to bother to be precise. I won’t name the former business, as they don’t have a proper chance to defend themselves, but raise the point as an example of JOHN and NXNW’s excellent level of care.

He replaced the incorrect heads, and also some damaged ones. He programmed our system so the we can let it go without further personal oversight. He had all the gear he needed with him on the truck.

The cost was reasonable, and he worked carefully but also quickly. They always have office staff ready to answer the phones, and the initial estimate was not altered, as can seemingly so often happen.

They also do other services, such as fence repair/construction, which we have urgent need of, and thus may utilize their business for this as well

Going forward, unless we have a different experience, our household wlll be sticking with NXNW.

Sergio is amazing! Always has great customer service and excellent communication, fast to jump in and help with any issues that arise.

We hired NXNWL 4 years ago after frustrating lawn service from another company. They take great care of our lawn, do regular planting to keep our island and my secret garden looking great and maintain and repair our sprinkler system. I have also called them to chop up and haul away dead trees. They have pulled invasive vines off the top of my house. I have not yet had a request that they could not handle. They recently planted 5 flats of flowers with almost no notice to beautify the front of our house for my sister's wedding.

If I could give negative stars I would. These people are extremely incompetent and continue to kill everything they touch and do hundreds of dollars of damage to my landscaping, thousands of dollars around the nieghborhood. Unfortunately, I have to deal with them because my HOA hired them, but they are some of the most clueless incompetent landscapers I have ever witnessed. I had to put up signs all over the garden that say "Please do not prune or spray" and every time they come they completely ignore it and I have to yell at them while they are spraying the sign that says "do not spray" and inevitably they kill tons of things every time. Yesterday, they thought they were weeding but in reality pulled out 30-40 of my flowers that were growing, including a peony that was literally sitting below the sign that says do not prune. After talking to them multiple times and putting up signage, there seems to be nothing you can do to keep them from killing everything they see. Do not hire these people, they will destroy everything and are beyond incompetent.

I can't say enough good thing about these guys. The service, the quality of the job and the way they work with you and your budget is exactly what I'm looking for in a contractor. They just installed a new sprinkler system and they did an absolutely fantastic job! They came to my house after the installation to make sure I was satisfied and understood how the system works. He gave me a lot of tips on how to save money on my water bill and yet keep a healthy lawn!

They absolutely have my business! No way I will try other any landscape! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

I have been a customer of North by Northwest since August 2007. They used to be quite good and I was satisfied. In the past year, their service has deteriorated to the point that I am now searching for a new lawn care service. They are undependable and I never know when they will show up. More and more Tiffany sends out emails saying "crews are running behind because of .... (rain delays, cutting back winter die-back, leaf raking, etc.). The problem is when you miss your scheduled day, they don't seem to show up to ever make up your day and you have to wait for the next round. I'm on a maintenance contract so I am billed monthly whether I get the service or not. This past month my husband and I have spent countless hours in the yard, raking, trimming, and weeding on our own. It's infuriating. I just paid my bill for the past month and it made me furious that I am doing so much of the work myself. My husband called North by NW to see when they are coming (they were last here on February 15). We were told they will come Friday, March18th. Well, it's supposed to rain on Friday so I guess we will be missing our service once again!!!

I’ve used NXNW for the past couple of years and they have shown to be very knowledgeable in their field. Just like any vendor, they are not perfect but they do own up to their errors and make things right. They work with their customers and keep an open communication with all parties.

Working with NXNW has been a series of follies. Aside from the sloppy landscape work they did, I had also signed up for a lawn maintenance plan hoping they would rid my yard of weeds. Instead of making my lawn look nice, they sent out some inexperienced hack who literally ruined more than half of my yard with the wrong chemical mixture. This hack they sent out also managed to spray the chemicals on my pavers and side wall of my house which left lovely blue stains for weeks. Thanks for that NXNW. Fast forward to today, I have a dead patchy lawn and was forced to hire a new company to fix their mess costing me significantly more money than I wanted to spend on lawn care. Of course they wanted to fix the problems they created but after 3 weeks of no follow up from the owner I decided to part ways with them. Working with NXNW has been a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I have worked with NXNW several times over the last year on various commercial and multi family projects. In my experience, they are one of the top landscapers in the state. They are reliable, knowledgeable, and solution focused. Would highly recommend.

We hired Neptune Sprinklers to help us redesign the landscaping in the back yard of our new house. They created new flower beds, installed a walkway, mulch, planted new plants and trees and modified the sprinkler system to fit the new design and upgraded the sprinkler control box to a smart wifi enabled one. Chris, Benny and their crew did a great job! Communication was clear, they showed up when they said they would and completed the whole project in the time frame that was quoted. I will use them again for any future projects and highly recommend them!

Chris and his crew came out in short notice and repaired one of the sprinklers with a broken pipe promptly. His estimate was transparent and fair. Job well done!
