Spencer was awesome to work with really shouldn't say was because I love the fact that we don't have to contact anyone else to come out and service my solar panels. Best decision I have made for my family next to buying a house. Freedom solar has the best value, best customer service and greatest installation experts. They have all been very professional and flexible happy with my solar option.

Freedom Solar installed our original 27 panels and 2 Tesla Gen 2 batteries. The system has functioned great. When a panel went bad, they replaced the inverter within a couple of months. We just got 3 more panels and 2 more batteries installed at a really decent price.

Freedom Solar kept me updated on project progress (some of the permits, upgrade to meter, etc take a long time). They came down and performed each step in the process on the day they said they would. They did a really nice job too.

I highly recommend them if you are looking for solar installation. I would buy from them again.

Sept 10 update, up until today I was very happy with Freedom but I have to revise my previous praise with great disappointment! I was scheduled for a service tech to come out to fix a defective Powerwall. The schedule was confirmed and I've been waiting all day for the Tech. There's been no update about whether the tech will be able to come out, I don't even know whether they've just forgotten about my problem. I don't know whether I should keep waiting or just look at alternatives. I am considering the possibility of scraping the Tesla Powerwall and replacing the installation with the new FranklinWH aPower backup battery system. By tomorrow I'll make a decision as to the direction I'll be going.

Aug 21 update, Freedom is providing top rate support. They contacted Tesla and got quick approval for a warranty replacement of my defective Powerwall. It just reaffirms my decision to work with Freedom Solar for my installation. It is very important to choose a reliable installer like Freedom. When I made my initial decision, they were not the lowest cost but the premium was worth taking on Freedom's reliability and reputation.

I got a fault reading on my Tesla Powerwall and contacted their Houston office for assistance. Within a few hours they reached out to acknowledge receipt of the support request. I appreciate this quick response and know that I not in a black hole. Also I can't heap enough praise on the original installation team, my 10kw system was installed and commissioned all in one day. I was up and running within 48 hrs!

The whole process couldn't have been easier. My agent Brad Dette came by the house, quoted the system multiple ways, and showed me the proposed orientation beforehand. He then patiently put up with the lengthy wait for my roof repairs to be completed, and answered all my emails and calls throughout the process. I was out of the country for install day, and they did the job anyway without needing home entry. Now I'm getting most of my electricity from the sun, very happy.

Freedom Solar recently installed a system at my house. The entire experience has been excellent. This goes from the sales process, which was educational and information. Then the planning and design which was thorough and suitably interactive. Followed by permitting/approvals process which Freedom Solar handled very effectively requiring no engagement form me with the various authorities. The installation was achieved efficiently, with minimal disruption. The final process of required inspection is again handled by Freedom Solar with minimal engagement from me, the client.
Every one of the Freedom Solar I met or talked with were well presented and courteous. I whole heartedly recommend Freedom Solar for a solar installation project.

Robert Bradshaw, a.k.a. Solar Bob was one of the best sales reps I’ve worked with in my life. He did not beat around the bush. He was straightforward and honest and I got exactly what I wanted for the price that was what we agreed upon.

My plan is/was to find a way to be somewhat more electricity independent within a city city limit. Freedom Solar has helped me achieving the goal. Spencer Sobolik , an extra-ordinary consultant had helped me finished two projects with solar panels and Tesla Power walls. I have my SPAN panels , the final thing to finish my plan is an EV truck can do the Vehicle to Home to extend my battery capacity. I am looking forward to work with Spencer and Freedom Solar again,

Had to manage that project myself, everyday. It was torture. So, we shopped, researched, interviewed, shopped, interviewed, researched, and prayed this time. In the end, we made the decision to go with the company and product we felt could provide the best system, service and guaranty on this long-term asset/investment - sweet, sweet SOLAR POWER. Freedom, you do not disappoint. Mind BLOWN - expectations SHATTERED. No subs. No scrubs. No bullshit. Best experience with a contractor - EVER, and that's high praise since Cornell Garage Doors is also totally awesome, but garage doors don't make electricity, so... Anyway, Freedom - we left this morning for work, and you were completely done by sunset. Installing our entire system in one day. ONE DAY. What!? I know, you did. What!!?? Shhh. I know.. you did. You lived up to every review I read, and I read them all: Yelp, Google, Angie's List, Facebook, etc.. Now, I will add to them. Thanks for energizing our home, and renewing my faith in humanity (especially construction contractors). Some companies still do GREAT work - Freeeeeeeedooooooooooommmm! Now, People of Earth, go solar.

It all started with Matt Berman who came to the house and sat with me and explained everything I needed to know about solar, their installation process, and the savings I would benefit from. The installers did a great job and I am up and running. Can't wait to see what my first electric bill will be after my installation!

Took a bit longer than I anticipated but overall, so far very pleased with Freedom. ALL reps associated with project have been most helpful. Hopefully my expectations of impact of switching to solar will be met in the coming months. Time will tell.

Update: I was able to negotiate with the company to split the cost of installing a new solar monitor through a third party (Enphase). The total cost was around $900 which they paid half. While I appreciate the effort, this is not the type of service I would expect from a premium company. Freedom charges a lot more than other solar service providers as they claim they go above and beyond to take care of their customers. The failed partnership they made with Sunpower put all of their customers in a really bad situation which they are not willing to be accountable for. I was told the company would fall apart if they tried to remedy all of the failed Sunpower units they have installed over the years. Unfortunately, that is the cost of doing business when you make bad decisions on suppliers.

I chose Freedom Solar in 2023 and paid over $40,000 for a solar system—a premium price compared to other providers. I did this based on their core value proposition: top-tier products (SunPower panels at the time) and the promise of a single point of accountability. Their sales pitch was clear—Freedom would be my sole contact for all solar system support, including monitoring.

Fast forward less than two years, and that promise has completely unraveled.

SunPower (the panel manufacturer they chose) has gone bankrupt and was acquired by SunStrong. Freedom no longer supports SunPower systems and has no relationship with SunStrong. That means I’m now being pushed onto a third-party company I didn’t choose and being asked to pay a subscription fee for solar monitoring—something Freedom explicitly claimed they would handle.

When I contacted Freedom for help and asked them to install a new monitor (from a brand they currently support), they refused. Despite their website still claiming they provide monitoring support, they’ve effectively abandoned me as a customer. No effort to make it right. No ownership of the issue. Just corporate shoulder-shrugging.

If you’re considering Freedom Solar for your home, ask yourself: what are you really paying for? Because when things go sideways, they’re quick to wash their hands of responsibility—even for customers who paid a premium expecting long-term support.

I expected better. Instead, I got a broken promise and an expensive lesson in buyer beware.

I have been wanting to go solar at a friend's suggestion for some time. After getting quotes from a few different vendors, I settled with Freedom. I had a great experience from start to finish with Spencer Sobolik. He broke it down simply and made me feel confident I was making the right choice for my home. I appreciate his patience through the process as he took the time to answer all my questions. I couldn't recommend Spencer and Freedom any higher.

Honeymoon is over! Initially I loved having green power production and a 25 year warranty to go with it. I recently had three panel's micro inverters fail (only 8 years into my contract) and now Freedom Solar wants me to pay $8,000 to replace all of them! Their claim is that because Sunpower (micro-inverter company) went out of business that this is the reason that they cannot enforce the warranty. I get that, but they still want to charge me twice the online listed price for the micro-inverters themselves PLUS FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS TO COME AND INSTALL THEM. So now I'm basically stuck having to almost buy my whole rooftop array all over again, completely negating the original cost I was trying to recoup by using the panels for their full life. The thing that really bugs me is that if the micro inverters were under warranty then they wouldn't have charged me the labor to install the new ones, but since they aren't now they want to gouge me for labor. I am actively looking into an independent installer who will do this without emptying my bank account and I'm being told by the rep that this would void the remaining warranty on my panels. What warranty???

Promises made, promises kept was our experience with Freedom Solar. From initial sit down with Blaise to solar startup, Freedom did everything flawlessly. Planning, permitting, installation all handled perfectly. Blaise, Robert, Geronimo, John, and Jim worked to make this happen in only 6 weeks.

Spencer helped with our solar installation in Dripping Springs. He was so thorough explaining the process, cost, and benefits, which was hugely helpful, as we were new to solar.
He was attentive, detailed, and always answered our questions in timely manner, even long after install. If you’re thinking of installing solar panels (or a Power Wall) I highly recommend calling Spencer and his team at Freedom Solar!

Freedom Solar Power technicians Mason Lane, Joseph Gay, and Josh Harper were very professional and knowedledable with all aspects and was able to answer all my questions about my re-install Monday, April 18, 2022. I would not hesitate to recomend Freedom Solar Power to anyone who has an interest in using sun power for their home. I have been a customer of Freedonm Solar Power since 2016 and in my opinion I rate them five stars for professionalism, knowledge of the product they sell, and customer service satisfaction. I worked with Spencer from Freedom Solar for the solar installation on my new home. He explained the entire process clearly, set the right expectations, and delivered the project on time. Overall, I’m very satisfied with Freedom Solar and their service.

I had the panels installed in 2024 without any issues. Everything went well. Until last week, it had an alarm to call Freedom Solar. It took 5 days from my initial call to get a response back. And now they emailed me that:

Your service request has been placed in our scheduling queue. Due to a high volume of service requests in your area, we kindly ask that you allow 30–45 days to receive a scheduled service date.

This is definitely unacceptable. 45 days to receive a service date. And then who knows when the actual service will be.

Do not use this company if you want prompt service.

From start to finish, working with Freedom Solar Power has been a positive experience. All aspects of my project were by their employees, not contractors. All were respectful of me and my property. They worked with me and put my 'wishes' into the plan. Even after the project was complete, my salesman, Zach, has helped me pick an electric company and plan to buy back the electricity I send to the grid. The install was fast, 36 panels plus a battery installed in less than a day. I've had my system for over 30 days now and it's GREAT! Plus I know I have a high quality company to take care of me in the future, Freedom Solar Power.
