Freedom Solar Power has been the best. I researched for a while and got quotes from over a dozen companies. When I compared everything on paper regarding components' quality, cost, performance, warranty, efficiency, customer service, consultants' transparency, discounts, etc., Freedom came up at the top each time. After signing my contract, they only confirmed I made the right choice and excelled at every step.
Spencer Sobolik is a great solar consultant; he was patient, knowledgeable, and professional, answering all my questions. I happily introduced some friends and colleagues to work with him on their solar journey.

Review from a Denver resident. I had Freedom install 25 Sunpower solar panels in 2021 followed up by two Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries in 2024. No installation ever goes smooth and both had hiccups along the way. However, Freedom was very professional and treated me fairly along the way. (Installations were delayed due to panel availability in 2021 and PW3 delays in 2024.) Xcel had a great deal on the PW3 where they paid me $500 / kwh for the battery along with the state and federal tax breaks. I was worried that Xcel would not pay but that was not the case at all. Their rebate was prompt. Great deal. The batteries now take power from the panels and I'm almost grid free. Denver is a TOU plan so I do not have to pay for any electricity usage when it's expensive. Both systems work together seamlessly and the Tesla software keeps me up to date on the activity. Highly recommend Freedom.

Working with Freedom solar, especially Spencer was terrific, he walked me through the whole process and was always available when I had a question.
I installed a 10KW system in 2022 and added 2 Tesla batteries in 23.
All the permitting and PEC paperwork was initiated by Freedom couldn’t have been easier. I would also like to give a thumbs up to Bo the electrician who worked on both the panel and battery installations.

I have a friend that also used Freedom and she is as happy as I am.

I recommend Freedom to everyone who asks about my install.

They seemed great through the installation and the people they sent seemed awsome. However it was installed in October and still isn't on in Feb. The application for FPL was not approved and they ignored it. I called every few days for 2 months was promised it was escalated and I would be contacted in 24 or 48 hours repeatedly and never was called back. Finally someone reapplied, it was approved and changed out the meter. It still isnt working because we can't get anyone to call us back about turning the system on. Nobody answers the phone and nobody calls back. It appears there is nobody there who supports customers.

I had solar installed at my residence along with a Tesla PW3. Freedom solar installed the equipment in one day. Brad Dette spent a few weeks looking at the trade offs of the system to ensure the most efficient products were utilized. As promised the installers were kept conduit off the roof and the PW3 was connected in the garage!

Had a great experience from start to finish from the initial bid to completion it was about 2 months with the main delays due to city/utility inspection. They always showed up on time when they said they would, great communication and installed so I hardly notice them. I highly recommend them, a family member used them as well for a solar add on after a bad experience with another vendor and had an excellent experience too. Also worth mentioning they did a lot of the city of Austin solar projects so they’re a big company and know what the city requires for approval. Passed all Inspections first time and have a great portal that keeps you updated on timing and what each visit entails which was very helpful. It’s rare to have a great customer service experience nowadays especially with many different people involved in the process. Don’t waste your time with other vendors their pricing was just as competitive as others we got about 5 bids.

I have used this company to complete four Solar and storage battery projects. My first project completed almost 7 years ago and my last project was completed December 2025 their customer service and engineering talent and their focus on details is excellent. Highly recommended.

They were very timely and responsive for purchase, contracting, permitting and installation (2021).

Now, in 2025/6...
Repeated delays in getting service, on-site assessments and action. Promised one timeframe, always longer. Slow to follow up with actual information, just repeated "we'll get back with you."

My opinion is low resourcing based on financial issues. If I were to begin business with them, I'd look more deeply into their financials. Because i'm a current customer I'm captive by warranty.

UPDATE 10 FEB 2026
Was able to follow up with helpful Resolution Specialist. The specific assessment and work took place on the day scheduled (was still a 4 week+ timeframe from my reporting the issue to a technician opening for home visit).

The Resolution Specialist was able to assemble and send all technician notes, documentation, and provided a summary, easily understandable for this home's new buyer. Resolution specialist was diligent, courteous, and followed through on necessary actions. Assessment and work were covered under warranty.

Raising rating to 4 stars, based on service provided since initial review. One star short because of the time between reporting issue and technician availability.

STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS! Cancelled our install after 2 months of back and forth for reasons that should have been picked up from the VERY beginning before the contract was signed. The location of the meter and electrical panel are in a challenging spot on our house that ultimately would require the meter to be moved, and I had asked on our very first day during the consultation BEFORE we signed anything if it would be a problem and their engineers and regional manager James confirmed it would meet code and wouldn’t be an issue before we signed the contract. Two months later, and a new HVAC and roof later, we're told that they are canceling our project because they aren't willing to take on moving the meter and don't want to deal with the project anymore. I asked about us covering the cost to move the meter with a separate electrical company first, and they said that they would not work with us even if we did that. I cannot believe a company of this size could not have foreseen this issue or resolved it issue, especially since I pointed it out on day one.

All in all, there was poor communication throughout their team from day one and they completely wasted our time. They have no empathy and are not willing to work through any hiccups along the way. So if you do decide to waste your money with Freedom Solar, be prepared with an absolutely perfect, up to date for the current year, electrical system or they will back out after months of dragging their feet. They were happy to cancel the contract and there is absolutely no recourse for them backing out. They wasted our time and cost us thousands in other upgrades at their recommendation and a hit to our credit for the loan that ultimately will go unused. I implore you, look elsewhere if you're trying to install solar and you'll be much happier. Don't give this company a cent of your money or a second of your time and you'll be much happier.

OMG, Lacey is absolutely amazing 👏! I have dealt with my AC unit not working for almost a year, various techs coming out never getting the job done but one visit with Lacey and my home is cool, my room has cooled down for the first time! I guess I just needed a woman to do the job these men couldn't do!!! LACEY not only needs a raise but definitely a promotion!!!!

I’ve dealt with a few solar contractors over various installs. Freedom Solar is lightyears ahead of the competition in knowledge, project management and service.

Even if FS doesn’t provide the absolute lowest bid you receive, you’ll likely save yourself hours (if not days) of contractor/utility/permitting headaches if you opt for them. Their warranties also actually hold value as compared to more transitive installers that may disappear along with the end of federal tax credits.

Overall the process was good and I am very pleased with the work. However there were times I know the differing teams did not talk to each other which resulted in some delays. More than once I heard "oh that is not my area, you should call .....". Given the amount of money spent I would have liked to seen better coordination amoung the overall staff. Was told my "Project Manager" was more of a customer service rep than the overall Project Manager, that does not inspire confidence. But the project was completed and is producing energy. I have, and would again recommend Freedom Solar.

Fantastic group of people. Spencer and his whole team were great throughout the process, explaining the system, dealing with incentives, a challenging installation, permitting, and making sure I was squared away with everything as the system got turned on. Highly recommend them, and excited to be going solar.

Everything from the very beginning until post installation went very well. Spencer Sobolik guided us through and make himself available multiple times to clarify our doubts and concerns. The installation team and electrician were very professional, friendly, clean and careful with my garden...I just thought so nice of these guys. I highly recommend their services, and I will use again when it is time to buy my battery. I'm so happy with our solar panel and how much we are saving and at the same time supporting nature.

We have recently installed a solar power system from Freedom Solar on our home in Georgetown, TX. I had investigated three potential solar providers before settling on Freedom Solar. They weren't the least expensive, but they offered the most efficient system for the cost (based on panel and battery specifications).

Greg, the salesman, was effective in keeping us informed throughout the process.

Freedom Solar's installation efforts were outstanding: both the panel team and the electrician showed dedication to safety and efficiently. Brandon, the electrician, went out of his way to make sure the house electrical was left in better shape than when he arrived. At the end of the day for each effort, the garage and lawn areas were cleaned up and all evidence of the work (other than the final product) was removed.

We energized the system a day before high winds ripped through the area. The winds gave us an opportunity to see the backup capabilities in action as the local power utility suffered several short outages. The battery backup activated and kept the house powered, dealing with us using the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer (it was wash day). The apps on the phone showed the system was able to provide enough power to even resell excess.

We have quite a few panels and due to the orientation of our house you see them as you come up the hill right there in your line of sight... Through the whole process I have emphasized that it needs to be as visually acceptable as possible. It might seem trivial but Isaiah and team (Watt Warriors) made sure all the grid lines lines up as best as possible.

The team accomplished a great deal in the one day, respectful, cleaned up and listened to my request.

Our experience of installing solar panels with Freedom Solar from start to finish was excellent. We worked with Stephen Urias. He recommended some good quality solar panels, was patient and not pushy about going with the larger size system. The installation team did a great job with routing the power supply through the attic and overall the outcome was great. They even moved a panel or 2 around on the day of the installation to make it more effective in terms of getting more sun throughout the day. Also, the folks who work in the background getting permits were great with the reminders and following up with the HOA. They completed the promised work well on time. I would highly recommend Stephen Urias and Freedom Solar for solar installation.

Freedom Solar came to my house to installed the panels on Monday August 18, 2025. They showed up earlier than expected. I was a few minutes behind when they called me and once I got home they were already working on everything. Crew guys were super friendly and professional. The job looks well done and the following day the electrician got everything online and working! From the sales to installation phase everything has been super smooth. I totally recommend this company.

Freedom solar did an excellent job with my 6Kwh solar and tesla powerwall install in central Austin, they made everything easy and seamless and it ended up being a great deal for me too! Now I can run my AC more comfortably throughout the hot months and not worry as much about getting crushed by the electric bill. Highly recommend this company for their professionalism.
