Matt my technician was wonderful. He was courteous, knowledgeable and great at communicating. Much appreciated! And the owner, Jason was extremely flexible and understanding when I needed it. I would most definitely request them again. Thanks !

I am writing this review based on how WaterTex operates as the only Choice Home Warranty service provider in my part of North Texas. John from WaterTex called on 5/14/2024, threatening “next level” action if I don’t remove my “slanderous” Google review. Nothing I’m writing is untrue. How many reviewers do you think caved to John’s threats and harassment?
My experience during a pool heater claim is that Watertex does not operate in the homeowner's interest to resolve an issue. Instead, WaterTex submitted a field report to Choice Home Warranty that lacked investigative substance (<10 mins of work), and made assumptions leading to a claim denial. Choice Warranty does not cover abuse, neglect or physical damage. Choice Warranty only covers wear and tear. These terms, on the surface, seem crystal clear.
However, what isn’t written in the Home Warranty is that Choice uses the WaterTex report as the standard to determine whether the equipment is maintained correctly. When WaterTex writes that it is a maintenance issue, the immediate and only result is a claim denial. WaterTex knows this. Choice stated they do not permit amending a field report.
Choice Warranty covers “wear and tear” under their contract. One way to avoid that is to have their dispatched service partners, like WaterTex, avoid root cause investigations where wear and tear could be identified. My device maintained to manufacture standards is cited as “failure to maintain” by WaterTex and then denied coverage. The process becomes so difficult do they count on policyholders to simply give up and just take it?
My heater is serviced annually per Hayward product guidelines. WaterTex used pictures and a report of superficial symptoms to base their report rather than thorough root cause investigation. The Claim manager, based on WaterTek’s field report stated: “as devices get older, you should be doing more frequent maintenance.” Since I follow the manufacturers guidelines, I asked what the right interval per their judgment – weekly? monthly? Quarterly? – neither Choice or WaterTex would answer this.
Two pool companies local to my area reviewed the heater situation and arrived at the same conclusion: they acknowledged a need to strip the unit down to know root cause. Since Coserv already confirmed gas supply to the unit is perfect, the failure is likely due to use and age (heater is 11 years old), which they agreed would be, “wear and tear.”
Putting the claim aside, my goal was to have my heater working. WaterTex, a pool service company, cited a maintenance issue, blocked the claim with Choice, yet never provided me with a path to get the heater working through maintenance - even if that had additional cost. The only option WaterTex provided, in the absence of detailed inspection, was my “out of pocket” heater replacement.
I would never operate a customer service business in this manner, nor would I treat customers in the combative way that WaterTex, and John, treated me. John threatened multiple times, “I’ve been in this business for more than 24-years. I don’t need to look further to know the problem was failure to maintain.”
But why wouldn’t you provide an action plan to get my heater back to operational if it was maintenance? And why would WaterTex direct so much energy into threats, rather than operate in a thorough and professional manner during the time of service? I find WaterTex business practices to be disgraceful.
You’ve been warned. -
The day of my repair appointment was cold and rainy. I was pleasantly surprised when Jason showed up within the scheduled time ready to work. He quickly diagnosed my issue and made the repair which stopped the leak in my pump system immediately. Very impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail. My pool is over 20 years old and have seen my share of pool repair people. Jason and WaterTex is now my go to for my pool repairs. Couldn't be happier.

I will definitely always call Jason and his team whenever I run into any pool problems or anything regarding pool. Jason contacted me the same day I had submitted my home warranty claim and was very responsive and informative from the start. I used him to first power wash my pool that was embarrassingly dirty and he got it looking brand new, absolutely excellent work. His pricing was second to none and I had called around to get many quotes on power washing. After it was all clean Jason used his unmatchable pool knowledge to fix my pump and spa. He is a very friendly individual and offers great pool information. I had no idea how to do some pool stuff but he had no problem schooling me even though he didn’t have to. I’m super glad my home warranty matched me with him because I feel like anyone else wouldn’t have delivered the service I received from him. My experience with watertex was an absolute breeze and I’ll refer them to everyone I know needing pool help. Great job!

Matt was great, very efficient and professional. Work was done promptly and thoroughly. I found a great company to do my pool service needs. Glad I found them!

The service and parts worked perfect. The new booster pump and timer will be more efficient for the future. Matt was very professional and helped us immensely in helping resolve the claim with the warranty. The price was competitive and they followed up to the service provided. I will recommend them whenever possible !

Payton, arrived on time, diagnosed the problem and repaired it in under an hour. I will use them in the future and recommend them to everyone.

We have used WaterTex Pools several times. Each time has been quality work and great communication. It's amazing to get such a reputable company available through my home warranty (Fidelity). Jason's detailed documentation for the issues and repairs are rare to find from service companies these days. I would use WaterTex with or without a home warranty plan. They are one of the rare honest repair companies you can depend on.

We have used WaterTex for repairs to our pool heater and have been very pleased with their service, workmanship, and knowledge. Jason was super friendly and he took his time to figure out exactly what the issues were and make sure they were fixed. We will definitely be using them again! It’s nice to know we have found a good pool repair company that we can rely on when issues arise!

You have to be really good for me to give a 5 Star review. And Jason and his team deserve every bit of it! Responsive, prompt, good communicator, excellent technical knowledge, and personable! Our pool heater has been problematic for a year, WaterTex called within hours of our warranty claim request, scheduled an appointment within days, and had us back up and running in less than 2 weeks (including the order and installation of the parts)! Not only that he was there when he said he would be, cheerfully dealt with the insurance company, he provided us with additional information on the care and maintenance of our pool, AND checked up the next day to see how the system was working. Great company to work with!

Very easy to deal with. I had a very complex upgrade and they were able to install. Very good communication prior to appointment time. They also have experienced people working for them. Upfront pricing quote after i sent pictures of upgrade. Most competitors want $170 or so just to come evaluate.

I had a similar experience as the review just below mine-- RF H. This company came out under my Choice Home Warranty plan. My weekly pool service had reported my booster pump had failed and was receiving no power. My husband disconnected the pool cleaner and turned the flow to the booster pump off (as it was inoperable). This company came out and reported to Choice that the pump failure was due to my husband turning off the water supply to the booster pump (which was not the case.) The booster pump + cleaner were working just fine the week prior. Their report of inaccurate information resulted in a denied claim. I feel this was very unfair.

Exceptional Service!!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Water Tex Pools, and I cannot express enough how impressed I am with their service and workmanship. From start to finish, Payton, my service tech, was seamless and professional. From my initial call to the completion of the project, the team at Water Tex Pools demonstrated a high level of expertise and attention to detail.
The installation process was efficient and well-coordinated. Payton and his team arrived on time, worked diligently, and completed the project within the promised timeframe. Payton was responsive to any questions or concerns I had throughout the process, and their dedication to ensuring that I was completely satisfied with the end result was evident every step of the way.
I would highly recommend Water Tex Pools! -
Very rude tech. Did unauthorized work if you call tightening a nut work.

This people came to check my pool in May. After that, 2 more companies came to do repairs because “no one keeps a pool damage for 8 month”. I called my home warranty to have it check today. First time i called watertex back in may, i did it “on my own” as a private service. Today they DISCLOSED information to my home warranty about what they saw 7 month ago when I privately hired them to check my pool, that was later checked and repaired during those 7 month by two other companies ( I have the bills). My claimed was denied due to the information they DISCLOSED while doing a “PRIVATE” services that they check in 3 minutes back IN MAY. i didn’t hired them back then because I didn’t liked the service they provided when they came to check. Unfortunately, i didn’t realized my home warranty hired this same people as almost a year went by. DO NOT CALLED THEM AS THEY COULD GO AROUND DISSCLOSING information about your house, that they saw when while you hire them privately and without the knowledge of the services you have had during almost a year after they came. ONLY BECAUSE YOU CHOSE ANOTHER COMPANY TO DO THE SERVICE BACK THEN and not them. Consider PRIVACY of your house before hiring this people

My experience with this company was through my home warranty company Choice Home Warranty. I would recommend never choosing to work with either company!. I found Water Tex Pools to be unwilling to work with the customer in regards to time frame to inspect the problem you are having or the claim you filed all the while telling you that they are "trying to work with you". This became a complete waste of my time and I found this claim of "trying to work with me" to be condescending and rude. They never tried to work with me, they just kept assigning a time frame I repeatedly told them I could not make work. That is NOT working with the customer. Choose someone else!!

Matt came to our home, diagnosed the problem, changed out our pool pump and did a fantastic job. He had our new pump installed and working within 30 minutes. I'd like point-out that what we were charged by WaterTex Pools was very reasonable. Thank you for a job well done!

I recently had the pleasure of working with a fantastic pool controller equipment installation service, and I couldn't be more impressed. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and professional.
The tehnician arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable about all the equipment being installed. They took the time to explain each step of the process, ensuring that I understood the functionality of the equipment and how it would optimize the performance of my pool. Their expertise was evident, and they made sure everything was set up correctly, testing each component thoroughly.
Not only was the installation efficient, but the technician was also courteous and respectful of my property, taking great care to minimize disruption. They even cleaned up after themselves, leaving no mess behind.
What stood out most was their attention to detail. They ensured that every part of the installation was working perfectly before leaving and provided clear instructions for maintenance and future care.
Overall, the service was outstanding, and I am confident that my pool equipment will run smoothly for years to come. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of pool equipment installation—they truly exceed expectations! -
I have a Fidelity Home Warranty, and WaterTex Pools was one of their vendors, for when I recently had a pool heating and pump issue. Matt with WaterTex came out and was very respectful, flexible, and reasonable to deal with. They were very quick on coming out for the initial quote analysis, super quick on ordering parts, and even quicker on the install. Truly, I was shocked. With my warranty, I've had to use it for AC and electrical issues so far too; the experience has been horrible both of those times, bad enough that WaterTex & Matt truly stood out, providing a great experience, and I felt compelled to leave a glowing review. Deal with them in confidence!

WaterTex has responded to two home warranty claims. They are professional and repairs are completed quickly with no issues. Payton was a pleasure to work with.

Jason is a straight up guy. Very professional, friendly, and informative. He is not looking to keep you stupid. He has installed new equipment for me on two separate occasions. He took the time answering questions in a concise and understandable way. That is greatly appreciated. I am pleased with his work. Will contact them for future services.
Update- 8/8/23
Once again have to express my gratitude to WaterTex for another great job. I was having an issue the booster pump. Payton came out assessed the pump. Had to be replaced. He was friendly and professional. He arrived on time, we talked about the issues we were having and he got to it. All of this equipment I believe is 20+ years old and do not believe it was well maintained by previous owners. These guys are as honest as days is long. You may not like what they have to say but they shoot you straight. I appreciate that. Great job. Highly recommend.
