Constraction reviews in Cypress, Texas

August 2019 - We just had our roof done by Cypress Custom Roofing. Excellent Job! Trustworthy Fire Captain - Greg Axelrod. His crew arrived early and on time, quiet workers, neat clean up, and quality work. Greg will listen to your needs and will pop in to check on the job. This work surpass the inspection of my commercial architect husband. Thank you Cypress Custom Roofing. The Comeaux Household

I had an old roof which I had considered getting replaced. Then a hail storm came through which made me realize at least a portion of the cost might be covered by my insurance.

Greg came out an reviewed my situation. He recommended setting up an appointment with the insurance company.

He came to the meeting and was able to show the insurance representative exactly why it should be covered.

The agent was able to approve the replacement of the ENTIRE roof.

The team was professional and on time as well as spent a significant amount of time cleaning up after the job. I've already referred one neighbor to them and I will do the same in the future. Thanks Greg.

Coastal Roofing provides excellent service. It's hard to find a roofing company with integrity and honesty. My roof needed total replacement, and it was completed the same day. If you need a new roof, do not settle for less; hire this company!

A summer wind storm knocked off the top of a tree in my yard, resulting in three hand-sized punctures in my roof. I got a verbal recommendation to try out Cypress Custom Roofing. I also contacted another well rated roofing company.

Cypress Custom was very responsive. We discussed the damage verbally over the phone and they were able to help me understand ballpark cost. Two days later, they were at my door ready to inspect and get to work. They had actually driven by my house the day before so they could arrive prepared with the correct color replacement shingles. Two hours later, my roof was fixed and for a very fair price. Looks great.

The other roofing company did get back to me too...it would 4-6 weeks before they could inspect and provide an estimate.

Overall great experience. Highly recommend.

We chose our LOE neighbor, Seth Gavin, who owns Coastal Construction Roofing & Restoration (CCRR), which has been in the business for decades and uses the same professional crew each and every time. He's done dozens of roofs in LOE and Seth offers a 10-yr labor warranty and uses Certainteed shingles, which are probably the best available.

Most other roofers will offer just a 1, 3 or 5-yr labor warranty on lesser products. Seth will also include more decking replacement, if necessary, than they do and will add a drip-edge that looks fantastic.

There are no professional licenses, such as plumbers or electricians must possess, required for roofs...which protect everything within the home for which other licenses are required. Thus, there are a lot of hacks in the business. So pay your deductible and go with a professional roofer with a professional crew and a solid labor warranty, rather than guys the crooks find at Home Depot in the morning.

I highly recommend you speak with Seth, who will consult with you, as he did for me when I was initially considering another roofer, and then choose wisely...with someone who's been in business for a long time (and will be in business for the duration of your labor warranty).

We've known Seth for nearly 20 years, and I vouch for him.

I strongly recommend Coastal Construction Roofing & Restoration (CCRR) for all of your roofing needs!!

Greg Axelrod and CCRR has outstanding reviews within our neighborhood, and we first worked with him last year after Hurricane Beryl to perform much-needed repairs to buy us time until we could get a full roof replacement.

Fast forward to 2025, we reached out to Greg/CCRR a second time and ultimately decided to hire them again. His bid was very competitive, using top tier shingles from a well-known manufacturer. We were impressed with Greg's knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness, and patience answering all our questions. They have also had the same crew for several years, which is a testament to how Greg and his company treats their employees. I was highly impressed with the quality of their work during the installation, and the care they showed to protect our property and clean up after the job was completed.

I waited a few weeks to write this, and we are still pleased to report there are no leaks with our new roof. If there is an issue down the road, we have full confidence knowing Greg/CCRR will stand behind their product and get us taken care of.

If you are looking for a fair, honest, and high-quality roofing company who will listen to your concerns without the high-pressure sales, contact Greg Axelrod and CCRR today! We will certainly be using his services again whenever that time comes and have no hesitation recommending them to our friends/family.

Very good people! Top notch facility, would highly recommend them for your commercial HVAC needs.

Great folks to work with on large projects. Kim and Tyler keep me updated on scheduling while Steve covers the field and keeps manpower and materials moving. School renovations can be challenging, but they are very good at working through issues quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

Employee Gera Perez is complete trash... shady... do not use this company

Workmanship is excellent and inspected by Thomas (owner) !

Thomas and crew did a great job on my roof. I appreciate all they did!

Kyle knocked on my door and convinced me to file an insurance claim for my roof. He said that he found damage from a storm that was a month earlier. Insurance denied it as it was only $300 in damage. He made me believe that it was the whole roof. It didn't cost him anything to take a hit for filing an insurance claim, but it did cost me. While I was discussing repair options with him he dropped off the face of the earth.....since he was not getting the payday that he was expecting. Very shady throughout the whole thing.

We have used Northstar Construction for remodeling, roofing, rebuilding a chimney, and many other projects. The work is always perfect. The attention to detail, the quality of the work, and the quality of the sub- contractors is excellent. The work areas are kept clean and neat, and the work is done with as little disruption of lives and routines as possible. Thomas Hammel, the owner, is wonderful to work with and is a perfectionist.

I all can say about Thomas and his crew is there are AWESOME. They install our back yard patio cove and kitchen, Thomas helped design the project to fit our want’s and budget. Me and my wife enjoy sitting out every evening after work to wind down after a long day at work nothing better than to spend time with my love and best friend. Thomas thank you so much you’re the best.

NorthStar Construction (Thomas Hammel) did a super job on my $15,000 reconstruction project to repair damage under an insurance claim. Thomas was one of 4 contractors considered for the project. Thomas was selected based on his professionalism and resourcefulness during the job walk. He really stood out as “a notch or two above” with regard to general knowledge and specific ideas related to this particular project. He then successfully negotiated price with the insurance company. The project consisted of repairs to a Primary Bedroom Closet and all new wood flooring (water-proof laminate) on the entire second floor and two stairways down to the first floor. The quality was impeccable on all the work. He handled all the furniture very carefully (no damage to furniture or floor) and returned it to its original position. I have never seen flooring done this well! He was an excellent communicator throughout the project, keeping me informed on a daily basis (except weekends). Schedule was never a problem – he completed the work in a timely manner along the lines of his original time commitments. Oh, and he also did an excellent job covering furnishings with plastic to prevent construction dust issues. NorthStar was a Top-Shelf residential contractor in every regard on my project! Thank you, Thomas!

Norsthstar Construction build our outdoor cover patio with kitchen, bar and restroom. Thomas always kept us informed on the progress was professional and on time. We are looking forward to the next project with Norsthstar Construction. Will definitely refer to all my friends and family.

Very good 👍

Thomas and his team are a wonderful group of professionals. I highly recommend Alpha Construction Solutions for all your construction needs.

Honesty and integrity are the words that come to mind when dealing with Thomas. As another client once said, he's honest to a fault 😊, meaning he will be upfront with you even if it's to his disadvantage. You can always count on him for a timely response.

My wife and I hired Thomas for various projects around our home and he hit every one out of the park! He takes his time to explain every bit of the process and made sure we understood everything before moving forward. He is very knowledgeable and accommodating to our schedule even though it was across town for him. He is our go to for any future projects!

I hired Thomas to build my outdoor kitchen after interviewing a handful of general contractors. Thomas is the most respectful, detail oriented, and knowledgeable GC I have met. That’s why I decided to give him the opportunity. Best decision I could have made! He was with my wife and I through every step of the process, from design to permitting to picking materials to construction. He ensured everything was done correctly so we would not have any delays or unexpected issues. He was at our house nearly every single day ensuring the job was done correctly and up to the highest standards. You do not find that quality in very man GCs! He built us the outdoor kitchen of our dreams and always put our interests first! Phones calls at anytime of the day or night. Extremely knowledgeable answering all questions we had!

If you are going to rely on someone you trust to undergo a project of any size, Thomas and Alpha Construction Solutions should be the only one. I highly recommend you give Thomas a call! He’ll be my only call!
