Long story short, if you are a tall, tattooed, and handicapped male don't go here. The staff was helpful for the most part. Except for one guy. Tall, but not as tall as me, probably in his 50s, with a mustache I believe. He may own the place, maybe a worker. But me just looking at snapdragons evidently pushed this guy over the edge. I got the third degree on why I was there with my wife and to not step on the hose I barely had my crippled foot on in an extremely rude manner. I was polite, moved my foot and we went to check out our items and get out of there. I don't know what about me made him so hostile, because he was very polite to the more traditional looking people. No tattoos and not a legal giant. But I'm staying far away from this toxic man and therefore the business as a whole. And to you sir, I hope you have a great day. And don't let your smaller stature get you down. Nobody is perfect.

This company had terrible service. We paid them $250 to come look at our yard. It took weeks to get someone out here and he was 2 hrs late. We had a lot of freeze damage to our landscaping and asked for a plan and a price quote . I was very specific with Angelo who came out as to what we wanted to do. He said give him a few days and he would get something to us. We called them after one month when we had not heard from them again. We finally called Mr Walton. He said he would have Angelo contact us and said he had not been able to because he didn’t have our email address. I’m pretty sure he did but he for sure had my phone number as he called me several times to verify that I would be here when he came out to look at the yard. A week or so later we received a drawing with none of the plantings identified as to what they were suggesting be planted and was nothing like what we had discussed we wanted when he was out here. No costs given for anything. My husband called them twice more but we never heard from them again. We hired another landscaping company who were prompt, listened and provided a plan of exactly what we wanted at a very reasonable cost, thousands of dollars less than what Angelo told me at the beginning it would probably take to do what we wanted. They did the work promptly, did an excellent job and everything is healthy, growing well and we are very happy with what they did. My advice is skip Waltons if you are looking for a landscaping company.
5/30/2023 They did refund the $250 initial payment after we posted this review. -
Not the best option in east Dallas, but okay. Skip their houseplants--- everything looked dead and needing a good prune and water. The succulents had several trays of straight up dead and crispy plants... you gotta neglect succulents for a while for that to happen? But there were probably 50+ pots with dead succulents. They were a little higher priced than others. The dottie I got here looked pretty rough, and it never really bounced back. Had to cut it back and hope it regrows.

Yesterday I was looking for summer bedding plants to refresh some planters, and Walton's had some absolutely pristine, juicy magenta pentas that have been covered in bees and acting as a beacon for my hummingbirds ever since they came home with us. Really beautiful plants in a soothing setting. I always find exactly what I want at Walton's.

My wife and I moved to Dallas 5 years ago and contracted with Walton's Garden Center to do our lawn care and we could not be more pleased. Walton's is a family-owned business, and they go the "extra mile" to provide outstanding service. If you are looking for regular lawn maintenance or are looking for shrubs, flowers or trees, I highly recommend Walton's. They are the best!

I had a positive experience here. I've come in periodically for small things (as I do at several shops nearby) but this time came in to buy plants, perennial and annual, to splash color all over a large yard to help sell a house. The employees were helpful in terms of tech plant info and took time to help me without overselling and considered the future buyers too.

I found the plants I was looking for and the cedar chips prices are a little bit more than I expected but they do have a selection of things I can't find at my local nursery

I love this place ! My husband wonders around the outside and I go into the gift shop! Customer service is amazing! And I love to come see the cats 🐈

Stopped in today for Turks Cap - A few other local lawn and garden centers were out, but Walton’s had a nice selection! The sales associate was also very kind and helpful.

Bought tiny passion vines two years ago and they grew like crazy. Unfortunately they didn't survive the "big freeze" in February. Just went and bought new ones. Hope they'll grow as well as the other ones I had.

In late October I purchased a rare plant, specifically a Pink Princess Philodendron. About 2 days after I brought it home, it started declining. The leaves were droopy and the pink leaf start browning significantly. I brought the plant back up to Walton's and was told the plant was in "shock" and that it should perk back up and adjust to it's surroundings in a few days. I asked for a partial refund and was denied because apparently they cannot guarantee their plants.
My plant did not come around after a few days. It got worse. The leaves fell off, so I decided to take a look at the roots. They were rotted and fell apart. In my 2 years of collecting plants I have never dealt with root rot, so I do not believe this was my doing. When I brought the plant home, the soil was soaked, so I made sure to change it out with fresh, dry, chunky soil. In the end, I had to cut off the rotted roots and try and propagate in water. So far, no luck.
Ultimately, I did not pay $300 for a rehab plant and I'm extremely disappointed. Walton's should be able to stand by the quality of their plants especially if they are rare and expensive plants. Customers should expect healthy and acclimated plants for $200-300. Shortly after purchasing this plant, I heard of another customer buy a Hoya Sunrise and find it also had root rot. I will not be purchasing from Walton's in the future and would not recommend anyone purchase rare plants from here. -
Our experience at this business was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, we were met with hostility rather than a warm welcome. The owner greeted us—not with a simple “hello” or “welcome”—but with suspicion, asking, “Where are you going?” Meanwhile, a white woman entering at the same time was greeted with a polite “Good morning, ma’am.” From that moment, it was clear that we were unwelcome, likely due to being an interracial couple.
Over the course of three hours, we visited the store twice and made purchases each time. Despite being paying customers and even leaving our receipt visible on our dashboard, we were later confronted in an aggressive and threatening manner. As we were leaving with multiple plants in hand, the owners physically blocked our car from exiting. An older couple working there got in our faces, yelling and behaving aggressively. The owner became so enraged that his own son had to physically hold him back from attacking me, all while he cursed at me.
The moment I started recording, he suddenly went silent—but just seconds earlier, he had been hurling insults and trying to lunge at me while his son held him back. The shift in behavior speaks volumes.
Despite their hostility, we remained calm, even apologizing—though we had done nothing wrong—just to de-escalate the situation. We explained that our intention was never to harm their business, quite the opposite, as we were considering placing a large order for a house and hotel our family is building. In an effort to resolve things peacefully, we even asked what compensation they expected, to which they made an outrageous demand for $5,000. When they threatened to call the police, we welcomed it—only for them to suddenly back down and remove the blockade, proving they knew they were in the wrong.
It’s disheartening that in 2025, we still encounter such blatant discrimination. No customer should be subjected to threats, aggression, and hostility based on the color of their skin. While the store clerk was pleasant and the plant selection was decent, we will never support this business again. We are also actively warning others in our community to do the same.
We will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau and other relevant authorities, as no one should have to endure such treatment. I truly feel for the employees who work under such unhinged ownership, but no amount of product quality can make up for an experience like this. -
When we first arrived and parked in front of the business, the owner greeted us—not with a “hello” or “welcome,” but with a suspicious “where are you going?” Meanwhile, a white woman who entered at the same time was warmly greeted with “Good morning, ma’am.” From the start, we felt unwelcome and received dirty looks from the owner, likely because we are an interracial couple.
Over the next three hours, we visited the store twice, making purchases each time. The first time, we even left our receipt on the dashboard to show we were paying customers. However, after our second visit—while we left with our hands full with plants and flowers—the owners blocked our car from leaving.
An older couple working there aggressively got in our faces and began yelling at us. The owner became so agitated and red-faced that his own son had to physically hold him back from attacking my fiancé, all while he cursed us out. While my fiancé was being threatened, I was trying to de-escalate the situation, feeling deeply concerned for his safety.
Despite their aggression, we remained calm and even apologized, explaining that we never intended to harm their business—quite the opposite, as we had shopped there twice in just a few hours. Wanting to resolve the situation peacefully, we even asked how much they would like to be compensated. Their response? A ridiculous demand for $5,000.
The woman insisted they wouldn’t remove the blockade until the store closed. (Which makes no sense—if they truly lost that much money, why keep us from leaving?) Only the younger employee, after failing to calm his father, eventually apologized to us. Meanwhile, the owners threatened to call the police, and when we agreed, they suddenly backed down and removed the blockade—proving they knew they were in the wrong.
As for the store itself, the clerk was nice, and the plant selection is good. But I would never shop here again after experiencing such hostility and racism. No customer should be subjected to threats, aggression, and blatant discrimination.
We will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau and other relevant authorities. I truly feel bad for the employees who work under these unhinged owners. Maybe they were suffering from heat stroke on top of their racism, but either way, their behavior was completely unacceptable. -
Walton’s Garden Center consistently offers the best plant selection and highest quality in the area. I always have fun when I’m here! The staff is always willing to help and offer growing advice. Their prices are also reasonable considering their plants outperform similar items from other suppliers in my garden.

I had a wonderful experience at Walton’s Garden Center! Even though they didn’t have the specific items I originally came in for, the customer service more than made up for it. The young lady at the front office was incredibly helpful, she took the time to check their system and let me know they wouldn’t be receiving the products anytime soon, which I really appreciated.
While I didn’t find what I was initially looking for, I still ended up leaving with a bunch of great items thanks to their fantastic selection. A gentleman in the garden area (wearing a sky-blue shirt and a baseball cap) was especially kind, knowledgeable, and eager to help.
They also have plenty of parking, a great variety of gifts, water fountains, and beautiful pots in all sizes. Overall, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the store itself has a lot to offer. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Walton’s Garden Center! -
Did a great job on a difficult job (around tree roots and drain). Worked continuously for over two hours. This is second time we used them. Highly recommend

Chuck and everyone at CGreen Landscaping is wonderful. They are a pleasure to work with and they know exactly what to do. I will use them for all my landscaping, drainage and irrigation needs going forward.
-
CGreen did a good job and I have already recommended them to my neighbors. They solved my drainage problem quickly and efficiently and left my yard looking clean and neat.

After working for Chuck many years ago and knowing the quality and professionalism he demands I knew CGreen was who I wanted to make repairs to the irrigation system and install drainage to help resolve foundation issues on my home.
Thanks Chuck and our entire team
