I discussed the other company’s quote with him, and he explained that not all the repairs they suggested were actually needed. For example, my chimney cap had blown off in a storm, and the other company wanted to charge a lot to replace it, but Marvin said the old one could just be reinstalled and there was nothing wrong with it. They also wanted to repoint the back wall of my firebox, but Marvin explained that it really needed some bricks replaced and repointed the right way, so the issue wouldn’t just come back. I’m really happy with the chimney sweep and repair work. I feel confident everything was done right and at a fair price. I’ll definitely call them again for future chimney cleanings and repairs, and I’m glad to know they can help with gutters too.
