HVAC reviews in DeSoto, Texas

Michael was absolutely fantastic! When my air conditioner suddenly stopped working, he came out as quickly as he could and wasted no time figuring out what was wrong. He was professional, knowledgeable, and very thorough in explaining what the issue was and how he was going to fix it.
What really stood out was how fast and efficient he was without ever making me feel rushed. He made sure I understood the problem and gave me peace of mind that it was being taken care of properly. It’s not easy being without air conditioning, but Michael’s quick response and dedication made all the difference.
I highly recommend Michael if you want someone who truly cares about getting the job done right and fast. He turned what could’ve been a miserable experience into one that left me feeling taken care of and confident in the repair. -
MICHAEL J. IS THE GOAT!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for driving all the way to Forney, Tx the day after Christmas and saving us from the weird Texas weather! You are amazing. This company is amazing!!!!! If you are looking for someone to help you with your AC you should TOTALLY book them.

Too bad I can’t leave a 0 star rating. At the beginning of the summer one of my A/C units was not cooling. Called my home warranty company and they sent out On Point. Everything was great at first. The guys that came out to evaluate the problem were great. Turns out I needed a new air handler because the old one had multiple Freon leaks. For some reason home warranty did not approve replacement so I got stuck with the bill. $6500 to replace. Like I said, everything was great, until the installers showed up. They got the air handler installed but in the process managed to wire it wrong. My previous system had 4 wires instead of 5 and these guys didn’t know what to do so they winged it and wired the compressor to the system power so that it just ran continuously. After I discovered this a day later, I contacted On Point and they told me that it must be some other issue and there would be additional charges if it was something else. It was not something else and the tech that came out corrected the wiring issue, or so I thought, more on that later. Fast forward to August. My other A/C unit stops cooling so I call home warranty and they send out On Point again. This time the outside unit is fried. Home warranty covers this replacement but I have to purchase and pay for installation of the air handler since my existing air handler would not work with the new outside unit. Once again, everything was great until the installers showed up. It was like a repeat of the install earlier in the summer. The lead installer told my wife that our old unit only had 4 wires and he needed 5 so he was going to wire heat to the emergency heat strips instead of the heat pump. She had no idea what he was talking about and I was unavailable to take a call. So I reach out to On Point to try to get an explanation of what the installer was saying. Never got a reply even after multiple attempts. About the same time, the A/C that was installed earlier in the summer begins to not cool as well as it had been. So now my confidence is really low with these guys so instead of calling my home warranty company and having On Point out again I get one of my wife’s friends husband who is an HVAC tech to come over and take a look. What he found was incredible. Both units were wired wrong. One unit was wired for heat to emergency heat only and the other unit was wired only for A/C and no heat at all. The unit that was not cooling as well as before, found that when the installers were putting it in they did not bother to remove a fill valve cap or the Schrader valve when they soldered the connections and melted both leading to a slow freon leak that was the cause of the unit not cooling well. The system had lost just over 3 pounds of freon. About the only thing the installers got right was saying that my old system had 4 wires and they needed 5. Why they did not explain the situation and provide a quote to remedy I have no clue. Instead they chose to do a shoddy job. Ended up that my wife’s friends husband and I replaced the melted Schrader valve and recharged the under performing system and pulled new wires for both systems and wired them up correctly. Way I figure it On Point owes me the $500 I had to spend to fix their errors.
Update 11/09/25: See the reply below? I contacted them, was told to leave my number by someone in the office and they would get back to me. Guess what? Never heard back from anyone ... go figure -

It wouldn’t let me add a new review, so I had to edit my previous review: Michael was the same technician who came before. Although unfortunately I had been without A/C since 10/4, Michael Jensen did come at 0800 instead of having me wait until 11:00-15:00. I appreciated his promptness.

Michael has a heart as big as Texas and will work with anyone. I cannot express how thankful we are for Michael and his company. He helped us beyond measure. His technicians are very helpful and professional. I will definitely use his company again.

Mike is amazing! He drove several hours away to honor a home warranty claim. I have small kids and without him we would have been in a huge bind. I cannot say enough good things about him. You won’t regret using him.

Originally scheduled for a Monday appointment, Michael was here on Saturday to check out the issue we have with our A/C unit. He did the necessary unit check and furnished his evaluation for repair/replacement determination. Issue not currently resolved, however, this review addresses the response by On Point as well Michaels’ professional work. Very good service!

The professionalism from beginning of Installation
To the end of our new A/C unit and Furnace was indeed worth the highest praise our Family could give. Thank you Rayford! -

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED! Unprofessional unethical and affiliated with C G servicec....per credit card receipt and transaction. No INVOICE for service provided. Owner collected money but not at all concerned with services provided and made no effort to rectify mess created by excon felon workers trying to undermine company and work on side demanding cash payments. Owner refused to evaluate services rendered by his CROOKED employees. LAWSUIT FILED

I called them the day before services were needed for a/c and electrical work at our home. They were available early the next day to come out. Reasonable pricing, but the sheetrock subcontractor used wasn't too friendly.
-
Most jobs will have issues that come up, so I suppose mine was typical... The thing is, Carl did not leave me stranded, he made everything "right" that's why I am so impressed with Rayford A/C; When I called with concerns, they stepped up and took care of my concerns. I recommend them highly. MR

Beware: $75 house call fee. I did call and say the air was blowing, but room wasn't cooling. Service guy found NOTHING wrong with air ducts or unit said I should try different curtains. It's just nice to KNOW up front you charge a fee.
