A technician came out the same day as requested to fix a broken air conditioner in the hot summer. He was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I call them for all of my HVAC needs and have for the whole time I've lived in my home.

I have been a customer of Calvin’s Climate for more than 6 years. I became a customer after talking to an acquaintance who bragged about having the best service provider of air conditioning systems this side of the Mississippi (and the other side as well). Calvin’s team helped address problems with our 2 A/C units when they weren’t working as expected. Both Gary & Reese were thorough in diagnosing the various issues we had and were dedicated to making sure everything was working at optimum performance. The need for service on either unit was unexpected after having one fully replaced and the other partially rebuilt just a year prior by another company, though Gary & Reese were sensitive to that and provided recommendations that would be the most cost effective in the long term. I was so impressed with this company! When my AC unit stopped cooling down, I called them, and they were at my house the very same day. They quickly figured out what was wrong and returned the next day to get it fixed. What truly went above and beyond was that they even installed a temporary AC unit in our bedroom so we could sleep comfortably that night. I wholeheartedly recommend their prompt, efficient, and truly caring service!

Reese arrived well within the promised time window. He listened to my concerns about our 19yo system and tested everything important. He explained what he was doing and what he observed. We're hopeful to get one more summer out of the current unit, but he politely offered to get a quote to us for a new one. Very thoughtful and impressive from initial call through service call. Will definitely call again!

Initial Experience
My experience with Calvin’s Climate began almost ten years ago when they came to repair an air conditioning system that had stopped cooling. From the outset, there was clear pressure to replace rather than repair the existing unit, even though it was less than ten years old. Since my wife and I intended to stay in our home long-term, the promise of a lengthy warranty, better efficiency, and modern architecture convinced us to invest in a replacement system.
Within two years, we also had our furnace replaced by Calvin’s Climate. Over the years, they performed various minor repairs and maintenance under a service plan. While a part replacement was covered under warranty, labor, trip charges, and additional fees were invoiced to us.

2024 Maintenance Visit and Overflow
During our summer maintenance visit in 2024, the technician emerged from my attic after completing the work and told me the condensate drain was slow but draining “fast enough.” Less than a month later, the AC overflowed, staining the sheetrock ceiling and wall.
I called Calvin’s Climate, and they promptly sent a technician. He blew out the drain line, charged us for the service call, and expressed surprise that the float switch hadn’t shut the system down to prevent the overflow.

Recap of Installation and Maintenance

3. Result: water-damaged sheetrock ceiling and an unexpected repair charge.

Post-Mortem and Response
I contacted Calvin’s Climate to understand why two components they installed and maintained had failed and who would cover the ceiling repair. Angela arranged for their best technician to investigate. He discovered that the float switch had been installed in a way that prevented it from floating and shutting the system down. He corrected the float-switch installation and replumbed the drain line to improve performance.
A few days later, I spoke with Calvin. He refused to accept responsibility—since he hadn’t personally inspected the issue—and offered only one of two remedies: refund the service charge or repair my ceiling. I chose the ceiling repair and decided never to use Calvin’s Climate again.

Final Resolution
1. Technician corrected installation issues with the float switch and drain line.
2. Calvin refused to own the mistake, offering a partial solution rather than full remediation.
In the end, Calvin’s Climate pocketed about $250 instead of taking full responsibility. While they’ve been responsive over the years, their unwillingness to rectify a problem I feel they caused left me disappointed. I hope this is an exception rather than the rule, but I advise caution before hiring their services.

We used the professional services of Calvin's Climate for replacing our both HVAC systems (outdoor unit and furnace). Calvin and his entire team did a thorough job. They first came up with calculation on what capacity units were needed for both upstairs and downstairs, any additional vents that were required and once the plan was approved, they went ahead and installed everything as previously discussed and in the time they had estimated. We have also signed up for their annual maintenance that covers 2 services (late fall and late spring) plus discount on parts. Very happy with their service and highly recommend.

We have used Calvin for a condo we own and rent and have been extremely happy with the unit he installed as well as his technicians that come for seasonal checkups. They are informative and really take the time to check everything thoroughly.
Recently, we used Calvin to give his opinion on our home system which needed replacing. Calvin gave us a couple of options. He went out of his way to explain the reasons for his recommendations. We have a hall closet unit which has been loud. The new unit is much quieter. We also chose to have new ductwork installed to increase airflow where it should be. The technicians were hard working and answered any questions I had. I could not be any happier with the new system. Calvin’s Climate is one of the most honest businesses I have ever worked with and will recommend them to anyone I know!

We have been customers of Calvin’s Climate for years now (on our second house with them servicing our ac units)! Can’t say enough good things about them! Calvin is always fair and reliable! He will repair when it can be repaired and give you options for replacement when it is needed. They do great service work as well! I had minimal air circulation in one of my bedrooms. Calvin Climate diagnosed the problem and installed dampers to provided increased air flow to the room.

I highly recommend Calvin's Climate. Our entire A/C system was so old and running on old refrigerant. No repairs could be done. No A/C for 4 days and internal house temps were 96 degrees. Until a decision was made on installation of a new indoor and outdoor system, they gave us portable A/C units which saved us from heat exhaustion. From the tear out of old system and installation of the new, the experience was top notch. When I say I delt with and spoke to just about every member of the team, that is no exaggeration. The kindness and customer service was amazing. When finalizing the installation there was a ever so small issue with getting the system to fire up, which ended up being as simple as a faulty fuse. Something happened that I haven't seen in a long time in doing business with any company, Calvin himself showed up. Yes The owner of this fantastic company got in and worked with his guys to resolve it. His words not mine " I just couldn't have you guys go one more day without A/C". No pressure sales or upgrade into something I didn't need. Not to mention under the outdoor system, they brought along with them and laid down a concrete square slab to place it on and leveled it. Try and find any company in their field of expertise that operates like this, in my opinion, goog luck. I've delt with the big names in the industry about our system, the up sales and fees and cost was $ 18,000, I about choked. Calvin's was literally half. In my opinion, no other company in their industry can compare to the quality of service, kindness and price. Thank you to the entire team at Calvin's Climate. John did a thorough job cleaning the unit. My husband was impressed with his work. The only oversight (and it happens to all of us) is that he forgot to turn the breaker back on and close the panel box. When the unit came on the fan was the only thing running. Hence the temp in the house was warm. After a call to Calvin’s they immediately arranged for John to come back out even though it was late in the day. My husband decided to check the breaker and sure enough that was the issue. I write this long review not to offer criticism but to point out how quick Calvin’s AC wanted to address the issue at hand. Yes, I recommend them!

Tom from Calvin’s Climate did a great job troubleshooting my AC issue and resolving it with just the necessary repairs. He even found an issue I didn’t know I had and resolved that too. I’m an engineer and I know that the work he did was the right work and nothing unneeded. Tom was respectful of me, my time, and my house. Great job Tom and Calvin’s! I’ll be back

UPDATE 5/24/2025
Back again! My son needed help with his townhome AC not working just as he’s sold it and ready to close. Calvin’s doesn’t usually service his area but they had a tech willing to swing by on his way home from work. Calvin’s coordinated his arrival with us to save time on both our parts. Reese was really great! He found the problem quickly, fixed it no fuss, and explained what had happened. I’m very thankful of Reese and Calvin’s accommodating us and doing just the minimum needed. Thanks again and I’ll be back with more friends!

Amazing service all around from Calvin's Climate. They had installed a system for a former owner of the home and I called to have it serviced. Maggie in the office was super-helpful, providing info on how to transfer both the manufacturer and Calvin's warranties, and info on the filter size and various purchase options. I got an email appt reminder the day prior and a text when technician Gary was on the way. He was professional, competent, courteous and extremely thorough. I was so pleased with the whole experience and would heartily recommend Calvin's Climate.
