We hired Colony Builders to do a Siding and Paint Job to our house. Sam was our project manager. He and the crew did a great job to our house. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

Colony Builders exceeded my expectation. The whole team did an awesome job. I really wanted to give them 10 stars. They did my outdoor bathroom patio, and sunroom. We love it all. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.

The job went well, despite the delay with all of the rain that we had. The crew from the concrete pour to the framers were all very professional and hard workers, that know their trades and it showed up very well. I am very happy that I chose Colony Builders for this project and would definitely use them again anytime.

Colony has roofed my house, tiled my floors, installed custom bookcases, added a sunroom & more. All the work has been top notch, and at a reasonable price. This is the only review I’ve ever done for anyone or any service, but I can’t say enough good things about them.

I wanted to write everything that went wrong on my project, but there is a limit to the length of a review.

I do not feel as though my project was given the care and dedication experienced by others. I did not appreciate any of the efforts made by Ali to correct the issues. He came across as dismissive of my concerns and the problems that came up. He also had an excuse for everything so that it was not his fault.

The best part of the project was when they finally left my house for good.

The worst part of the project is what I have to look at everyday. I keep finding little things that were not done correctly a year later.

I would not recommend Colony Builders to anyone, ever.

Just had a kitchen remodel done by Colony Builders. They did excellnt work and i could not be more pleased. They built out a new pantry, painted my cabinets, and installed a new quartzite counter. They are vaery professional and do excellent work.

Had a covered patio built in 2018.

Negatives:

Very disappointed that material shortcuts were initially taken. Bricks were thrown into my foundation piers to save concrete, which was explained to me when I asked the crew chief, ran out of radiant barrier sheathing so regular OSB was used, roof vent installed backwards, 1/2" anchor bolts were going to be used instead of the manufacturers base recommendations of 5/8" (not constructions fault as the dwgs showed 1/2"). After finding bricks in my pier holes, I took off alot of work to supervise construction daily, very frustrating to make sure it was being built correctly. Luckily, I caught this, and issues were resolved on the spot. If going with Colony, I would suggest supervising them daily, and make sure they don't throw bricks in your foundation hole. Quickrete concrete had 6inches of standing water on top in my pier pour, I thought a sprinkler line broke.
Fortunately, when the pier was redone because of the bricks, I had each bag mixed separately to the correct water/cement ratio per Quickrete instructions in my wheel barrow, then poured. Electrician was going to wire my light switches outside, but luckily I was there to instruct them to be installed inside. I've never seen light switches installed outside before in residential construction. Electrician was very friendly and accommodated everything, and put the switches inside no questions asked.

Positives:
Larry in sales was very knowledgeable and made sure changes were executed. Architect who made the dwgs picked up all my comments. Colony was very receptive in making changes/updates to the contract, unlike new home builders. Carpentry framing was on point, hurricane strapping installed per windstorm requirements, and stain finishing came out really nice. Seamless gutters came out excellent, and the electrician was very nice, paint matches home perfectly. In the end, I had to miss alot of work to supervise, but luckily all issues were resolved after catching the issues, and now I have a well built patio that I will enjoy forever.

Please add me to the list of dissatisfied customers. Colony Builders built a room addition. The rod in the closet fell. I had to beg him to repair the rod. Needless to say, the job is half done because the wall did not get painted. The bathroom needs to be finished off. Good builders take pride in their work. They normally want to do a good job because they know that their best form of advertisement is from a satisfied customer. I cannot recommend this company because they do not do a job to the finished product. However, there was not a problem asking for payment. I did not know at that time I should have kept at least $1000-2000 until everything was completed as should be.

Don't Trust and Stay Away from Colony Builders.

Their poor quality work has caused serious damages to our property. And, they never came back to fix what they said they were going to fix.
My new roof started to leak weeks after they were replaced by Colony Builders, the put Tarp but did not come back to removed the Tarp. Roof vents were not installed correctly causing damages to ceiling. They removed a large piece form the breezeway leaving a large hole causing all sort of creatures to come in to our attic.

I don't know how to write this review since they were not even ready to provide a quote unless they meet with me and my wife together. I have never had any service provider denying to even visit because they cannot meet both the couples together.

In my case my spouse is not interested in meeting anyone for initial discussion (or any discussion) with the kids being around. Hence I wanted to do it on a weekday but only I will be available. But the lady on the phone kept insisting that her boss wants to meet us both together for the discussion which is only weekends. So it was scheduled for a Saturday and again it is difficult to do any discussion on weekends as it gets very busy and we cannot discuss anything peacefully with the kids around us at home. When they called to confirm I informed then it cannot happen if we both have to be present. Since she insisted again I told that I will see if I can talk to my wife to find a weekday but I got a cold response of "OKAY DO THAT" and she cut the phone. I was excited looking at the review but never expected this kind of experience that they were not able to accommodate our situation on the very first step :(

Guy answered on the phone when I call them today, and was transfer to Lydia. I was planning on doing a house project and started the first item on my list. She said the job is too light and should asked for an handyman. So, I then call another company which was also given a good review, and I have make an offer to do the job for $25,000. I don't know why Colony builders thinks that the job is too small for them? I didn't even finish telling them what need to be done.

My home and life were devastated when hurricane Harvey hit. We thought our home was a total loss and did not have insurance. We had used Colony Builders for a patio cover before so we have them a call to see if they could help. Our home is even better than before and they did it all at a reasonable price! We got one other estimate and colonies price was by far cheaper and we even added granite countertops, custom showers, and this really nice tile wood flooring. We are more than happy with the work and will be calling them for all of our future home improvement needs. Thanks!

We had been wanting a Texas porch for the longest. We found Colony Builders through our neighbor recommendation and now we have a beautiful 16x16 cedar Texas patio porch. From the start to finish the whole experience with CB was first class. We now have a great contact for future work. Thank you to all the crews that was part of this project.

I had a pleasure experience with Colony Builders. All crew members were friendly and professional. There are some points that can be improved regarding the house keeping , but I understand that some mess is expected during constructions. All the small issues I had during the process I was able to solve talking to Mr. Ali. I will definitely use and recommend this service again !

Ali and Colony Builders did an amazing job on my patio. You cannot tell the old from the new. Ali communicated promptly throughout the entire project. I had a tight deadline and Ali delivered. I could not be happier with the end result.

This company is an absolute delight to work with. The sales team was knowledgeable, efficient and very above board helping my wife and I find the perfect solution. The crew was fast and very respectful to my wife who handled the project as I work most of the time. The finished product came out even better than expected and we could not be happier. After waiting for years I was finally able to get siding done along with some exterior mods. They were very friendly every time we spoke. They answered my calls promptly, resolved issues with confidence, were on time every day, used good quality materials, and basically offered more for my money than anyone else. They certainly deserve 5 stars and I won't hesitate to refer them to anyone. Thanks Colony Builders and Mahdi for making my large job seem bearable.

We spent $24,000 on an improvement to our backyard: outdoor fireplace, new concrete patio and sidewalk, gas fire pit and spa. Beware that once Ali has your money, he will no longer continue correspondence and therefore your warranty is void. I had held back about $2,000 at the end of the job because we still did not have steps to enter the spa, and the backyard was a mess with splattered concrete on the fence, garbage and nails strewn around the backyard, etc. Ali quickly got nasty with me about his final payment, saying he was doing me a favor by putting me in contact with various companies to complete my backyard and boy, he would never do that again! I was shocked!
One month after completion the glaze on the concrete started peeling and looks horrible. When I spoke to Ali he was very nice and apologetic, but it is now 5 months later and he still has not repaired the glaze. Ali installed a spa but we couldn't get into it because there were no steps. After having to pay additional money for the steps with Ali promising to drop them off, we still do not have steps to get into the spa. Colony Builder's quote may be a little less than others, but know that he does not back his work so it is a risk you will have to take.
Update: Since writing the review, Ali has resurfaced the patio so that it looks nice again. The steps to the spa have been delivered and we are content with the work.

This is the 2nd time we’ve used Colony Builders. Ali was FANTASTIC!! He listened to our ideas and suggested things that made our build on perfect. I couldn’t recommend him more.
