They wanted to charge me almost $500 to change my thermostat, which was the only issue going on with my air conditioner. I said no of course, but ended up losing the $100 inspection fee. Never trusting this company with my business again.

Our AC went out during the worst possible time - in the middle of August with our first newborn. I called Polar Air and they made a trip out the same day. Marvin, our technician, was very courteous and knowledgeable. The broken part had to be ordered and it was repaired the next day. We had a great experience!

Ben (the owner) is smart, knowledgeable, and does excellent work. But his best quality is that he is honest.

When we had air conditioning trouble we got estimates from several companies. One of them that advertises on the radio constantly about how honest they were told us we would have to replace our entire system and it would cost between $10K - $12K. Another company wanted $4K.

But Ben was able to easily diagnose and fix our leak without us having to spend thousands of dollars that we didn't have.

Get what you pay for! Polar Air Services are the best I have ever seen. I trust them implicitly. If they say I need this work done - that work gets done! They take very good care of me and my family.

My mother has used Polar Air many times in the last several years and has been very happy with them so we began using them as well recently for our 10 year old AC unit. They're honest, reliable, and extremely responsive. Our tech, Oscar, is very knowledgeable, extremely nice and professional. I highly recommend this company.

Been a long time customer. They have kept me properly Hot and Cold throughout the years. I am posting because they recently took care of a good friend of mine in a dire situation...and when a company takes care of others, the same way they take of you, it speaks volumes to their integrity. So I can highly recommend them for your A/C and Heating needs...and I now have solid proof to back up my 100% confidence in them...if you're too hot or too cold...Polar Air is your solution!!!

Their technician put their foot through my ceiling. They failed inspection twice. They recommended disabling code required safety features. Following building code appears to be a "surprise" to them. My AC continues to fail to cool, twice, after their inspections. To be fair, they did correct the issues they caused, mostly, which gets them a 2 star. However, My AC unit is less than 2 years old and continues to fail. My friends say they don't have anyone to recommend for HVAC, they only have a list of those to avoid. I have a similar list, and this company is now on it.

EDIT: the disabling of code required safety features was defeating the switch that prevents operation of the unit with the cover removed, not the secondary inline float switch. The switch was defeated shortly after the initial installation. The ziptie used on the switch was noted on the invoice. The ziptie has since been removed and the alignment corrected by a different company.

Mine is more a 4.5 than a 5.0, but still a very positive review.
I had to replace both my HVAC systems. Their price range is very reasonable, still they use top quality equipment. I browsed several contractors before picking Polar Air and ended up with them because they were offering me the best price without dropping equipment quality.
They performed the job in a day and half (also very reasonable for the mole of job required). The minus half a point is for the following: technicians were not exactly careful while working inside the house (ended up with a wall messed up, sticky rubber on the floor and a broken door handler). To be fully honest though, I asked if they could fix it and indeed they thoroughly cleaned the floor, bit less thoroughly took care of the wall (will need bit of work on my end, but all manageable), and they are now willing to provide me with a tech that will fix the door handler.
