If you own a home, then you know what I am talking about. You are walking through your house and something just doesn't feel right. Then you look at your thermostat and realize that your AC unit is not cooling. For a lot of people this is cause for panic. I called Alief Heating and Air /Ultra Mechanical. I didn't call them because they are the cheapest. I called them because I trust them. They have never tried to sell me something I don't need. And they always explain the repairs in a way that I normally have an idea of what is wrong before they get here. Today Jeremy came out and spent a few moments showing me what needed to be fixed by testing some parts with his voltage meter. He has the issue fixed in no time and had time to give my system a health check before going to his next appointment. Excellent service and a reasonable price and they fit me into the schedule the same day I called.

Starting with Mike who came out and inspected my systems and ending with Sam, Aaron, and Greg, I highly recommend this company. Sam Aaron and Greg did an outstanding job or installing my new unit. They were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I have used Alief Heating and A/C to replace another AC unit as well as a furnace. They come with my highest recommendation.

Having needed a/c repair quite a few years ago, we were referred to Alief A/C, and they have always done a wonderful job for both on our furnace and our a/c.  They are always responsive - submitted a request for a/c service Sunday night and we got a call Monday morning saying it would be taken care of same day.  Our unit is over 12-years old, so we cross our fingers each summer that it will keep on going. John just finished - he has been here before & he found a wire had burned, which overloaded the system (which is why there was a horrible clanking noise).  He replaced the wire, checked the Freon and said we were good to go.  Their prices are very fair, but their service and response time is why we will continue to always call upon them for any a/c or heater issues.  We have referred neighbors to them and will keep doing so.

We had planned on getting both an A/C unit and furnace, because both systems were way past their normal lifespans. Our A/C had begun to struggle, and was losing coolant, which had been recently topped off in the hope we could get another year or two out of it. We called Alief, and Mike came out and gave us a much-welcomed tutorial regarding SEER, brands of A/Cs, types of refrigerants, noise abatement, financing, and more. He left us with several options. Well, we had already done our homework and so we were pretty sure of what we wanted. Mike's numbers and info added up to just about what we had figured, only he was just a bit less expensive. Thus, we were able to select our system, arrange for financing, and set a date for the job, all within a very short time.
At the appointed time and date, sure enough, here came the crew. They took great care not to make any mess, they seemed to work well with each other, they were attentive to our questions, and the job was completely done by 5 pm. We asked for a bit of time after the crew was done so we could see if we needed the air to be balanced, and requested they call or come the next day. They said they would, and came right back the next day and gave the air flow a very careful titer, so that each room got the right amount of air flow.
So that's our story. And this is why we have been using their company for the last 15 years. One last thing: two unexpected bonuses: first one was that the unit is very, very much quieter than our former one. That has caused our neighbors to invite us over for drinks and kudos. The second one was that they set the A/C unit atop the 2 plinths already there, and added a third plinth for good measure. Now there's less worry if we get another Harvey.
We didn't get paid for this review. Helen raised Mike right, and would give him what-for if he didn't run a decent and honest business.

These folks gave us great service at a very reasonable price. Our AC had stopped working and two other companies looked at it and wanted to sell us on a total replacement for 5,000 to 6,000 dollars without finding (or at least telling us) what the problem was. It took Mike about 20 minutes to find a leak in our outside coil and we had it replaced for $1,650. We are retirees on Social Security and couldn't afford a total system replacement. The whole experience with the owner, Mike, the office manager, Anne, and the technicians, Ron and Sam, was positive and I recommend Alief Heating & Air Conditioning without reservation.

They set up a service time for the very next day, the service man (Tony) was punctual, polite, and willing to go the extra mile to help! Alief Ultra did a fantastic job in a compressed time frame replacing our old damaged HVAC ducts and mixing box with a brand new up to code duct system. Professional and friendly, they were able to explain each step as they progressed through the removal and installation process. They cleaned the return air box and resealed it as a final touch to protect the intake system. Terrific job. I will be contacting them again when we begin investigating installation of a new system.

Every house we have ever owned in the Houston area, we have had Alief/Ultra maintain and service our heating and air conditioning. We have been a loyal customer for over 15 years and John has been so easy to work with. He is very knowledgeable and has saved us a few times when we had urgent issues. Also, I would highly recommend the service plan program as it has been a great value to us and has assured that our heating and AC systems are always tuned and ready.

WE would never consider using another A/C company. We found Mike about 18 years ago when we needed and inexpensive fix to keep an old unit running. Our funds were low and we desperately needed a working a/c system. Mike was able to make repairs at a very fair price. He really saved us!

As we moved up financially and were able to by a larger home we continued to call on Mike to take care of our a/c issues. We did not hesitate to call him again when we were ready to purchase two new complete units.

Best company ever! We have done business with Ultra Mechanical / Alief Air for years. Always a job well done. Recently, the company Owner (Heath) went out of his way to find a circuit breaker to repair our furnace during the freezing weather. He personally repaired our furnace. All accomplished at quitting time. This is service at its best.

Overpriced crooks. They charge you a $90 “diagnostic fee” that does NOT go towards your service. Charged me $350 to purge the gas line to my furnace which was him just pressing a button. Was there for less than 45 mins. Didn’t tell me what he was doing or how much it would cost. Just went ahead and then said I had to pay him. When I asked questions he got irritated and just said that was the price. Ridiculous! Do NOT trust them!

We have been using Alief Ultra Mechanical for many years. In our experience, they have always been responsive, professional and caring.

We had a new upstairs A/C unit installed last year and the new system has worked great. We did have an issue with mice chewing up the wiring for the temperature sensors outside in the condenser. Our primary tech, Jeremy, knew how to solve this for us.

Hours after completing that repair, we experienced a sudden loss of A/C with the downstairs unit, just as the temps outside were getting up to 100ºF. Ultra Mechanical got Jeremy out the same day. He diagonosed the issue, and it wasn't the A/C. Turned out that the Generac SMM module had failed. So we had to get our electrician out to replace that unit. Jeremy stayed in touch with us throughout to be sure we got our A/C back on line before the weekend.

Observing Jeremy service our units, he strives to make his repairs and adjustments the right way, not taking short cuts that could lead to future issues. Jeremy also gives clear explanations on what he's doing and solid advice on the care of our system

Had company come crawl attic for estimate for new ductwork. 2.5 days later woke up to wet carpet. I being 66 years old had to crawl in attic to find Leake. Called owner Heath said he wasn't going to fix. Anyone using his company beware take your business elsewhere

Jeremy came out to service both of my units and I don't believe you could find a more competent and pleasant service tech. He explained everything of what he was doing and why and what I should be on the lookout for. I highly recommend Jeremy for any of your air conditioning service needs. This is the second or third time he's serviced our units.

Called on Sunday afternoon when AC quit cooling and they were here within a couple hours. Leo quickly diagnosed the issue after checking all 3 systems. Extremely professional and he explained the issues in easy to understand terms. Could not have been more pleased with the level of service and professionalism.
