I used there free service check. The tech arrived abd I showed him the ac unit. I should have shadowed him. He went out and check the unit abd came back in abd said I was 2 lbs low on freon. He said it would be $75 per lb of freon. I asked if he was sure. He went back out abd came back in unless than 5 minutes abd said he was done. I paid the 150. Reliant offered me a free check up and I asked the tech about the incident he said if you had a leak it would be that low and it would take 30-45 minutes to put in 2lbs of freon. Basically I feel ripped off. You should shadow the techs, that was my mistake. I

I feel I was ripped off by this company. My unit was freezing. Gilbert sent a tech out that said he charged 1.5 pounds of freon. I watched the tech. He had the bottle of freon connected for about 30 seconds. This is basically impossible and it should take about 10-15 minutes to add this much freon because it has to be added slowly while watching the pressures. I paid $200 cash because I just wanted the tech out and I knew they would fight me anyway. I feel this company scammed me. By the way they insist paying with cash and said credit card would be a 20-30% markup. LOL...I hope I'm not the only one that sees all the possible issues with this business practice.

I had another company come out the next day because the unit froze immediately after Gilbert's tech left the site. The other tech said there was too much freon in the unit, and he explained that the expansion valve was faulty and showed me how he knew from the pressure readings. I asked Gilbert for a refund after hearing this news from the other company. Gilbert won't respond...well I know he's lost at least 2 commercial customers from this fiasco...all for a measly $200.

United Rentals responded quicker than expected to rectify our AC issue. The rental AC units in place in less than 24 hours was remarkable.
