Plumbing reviews in Houston, Texas

I called them to come out to my commercial project to install a single hand washing sink (which I provided) into existing system with pex quick connects 2 feet away and a floor drain 5 feet away. I needed this sink fast in order to pass health inspection and instead of giving me a quote for the job, they told me the plumbers rate ($110/hr) which I agreed to because I needed it done. When I got the bill they billed me 4 hours (!) of the plumbers time plus 4 hours of a helper (at $60/hr) plus every single piece of hardware at extreme mark up along with charges for using standard plumbing tools. For example, they charged me $61.70 for 10 ft of 1.5" pvc pipe and $50 for use of a pex expander tool!
The bill added up to $1100, which is about 3 times what I expected it to be. I called to protest and they basically told me, "you told us you needed it done fast and we got it done so we charged you extra since we didn't give you a quote for the job". I told them this is not how I do business and asked them to tell me straight up that they thought $1100 was a reasonable amount of money for the work they did. They wouldn't answer my question because they know they took advantage of the situation and instead explained to me that they had to charge for every little thing because of the warranty they provided (I told them I didn't want a warranty and I would waive my right to it if they would make the bill more reasonable and they refused). In the end I got them to knock off a couple hundred dollars because they said it was a 1 person job but they would not budge on any of the other absurd charges.
NEVER GOING TO GIVE THESE PEOPLE MY BUSINESS AGAIN. TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. -
Would not recommend. Very overpriced, got better service for half the price elsewhere. Tried to charge over $1000 for simple toilet replacement. Sent two plumbers to drain water heater and tried to charge $600 to drain sediment. Got it done for $150 at a competitor. DO NOT USE OR TRUST CHARLIES PLUMBING. You will most likely be ripped off.

I am updating my rating. After giving them extensive business for the past 18 months, we needed help during the freeze. They sent a technician who refused to do anything!! They just sent him to collect $75 trip visit. Very disappointed. Then we were told, we will hear from them in 3 to 5 weeks. The cause of the leaks were bathtub gaskets which they could have fixed right away. We plan to take our business elsewhere

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CHARLIES PLUMBING! I recently had one of their technicians out to fix a clogged drain. The technician spent 15 minutes doing his work and then left after seeing the water go down the drain normally. Less than 24 hours later, the same problem re-appeared, except this time it was worse. Now the initial drain was clogged again and it was causing another drain to back up as well. I quickly called Charlie's Plumbing to see if they could send someone out to fix the same problem, but they were adamant that now the technician would charge overtime rates...DOUBLE what I paid before for the same problem that they made worse. Completely unprofessional.
I had to get another company out that knew what they were doing, charged less, and fixed the problem completely. When speaking to the manager, Doug, at Charlie's Plumbing to explain the situation, he proceeded to argue with me the entire time about how they are right and I am wrong and try to "teach me a lesson about plumbing" (which again was unprofessional). IF YOU WANT TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR PLUMBING NEEDS! GO ELSEWHERE! -
It pains me to give a 1 star review, but I don't want anyone to deal with the same headache. Don't use this company unless you are okay with being overbilled and dealing with an unorganized, uncommunicative office.
Charlie's Plumbing has overbilled me both times I was forced to use them because they're an HOA approved vendor. The first time, a helpful employee named Richard promptly investigated and rectified the situation. Unfortunately he is no longer with the company, and the owner John doesn't own up to his company's mistakes.
Charlie's Plumbing was called to my unit to check the main line, and I took the day off to allow the plumber access in the event that it was an isolated issue to avoid being double-billed. I communicated this to Charlie's, and I wasn't notified when they were en route. I let Catera know I was 5 minutes away and would grant the plumber access if necessary, and she said she would call me if so.
I called back an hour later to inquire on the status, and was told that the plumber would in fact need access to my unit and would return in an hour. I asked Catera if I would be charged for two visits because she failed to communicate they needed access to my unit as we'd previously discussed, and she didn't offer a straight answer.
The plumber, Cory, was wonderful. He spent an hour at my unit. I called and emailed the office to follow up and wasn't told whether I'd be charged twice. A month later, I received a bill for THREE hours. I've spent 3.5 months working to resolve this, but the company won't budge. -
This company is fantastic. The employee came in and diagnosed the problem with my toilet. Then he said the inner workings were not working correctly so he replaced them. It now works perfectly. He fixed it really fast too. Now my toilet works great.

Called and spoke to the office. Within 1 hr had tech Kevin at my door. Was straight forward about the work and billing after assessment of job. Also after job was complete I was shown what was done. Would definitely recommend Charlies to anyone. Honest and curtious. Thanks.

I paid Charlie’s Plumbing over $400 for one visit to locate and a plumbing leak that caused water to leak from my downstairs ceiling. The guy cut three additional holes in my ceiling and did nothing but wait downstairs in the area of the leak while having me go upstairs and run the water in all the plumbing fixtures. He never looked at any of the fixtures himself. After seeing no active leaks in our test he pronounced the problem not a plumbing issue and left me with the holes in my ceiling, no answers, and $400 poorer.
The next day I had a general inspector come in to try to locate the source of the problem. He looked in the upstairs bathroom, examined the bathtub fixtures and noted the absence of grout around the tub spout at the tiled wall. The fix was a $5 tube of silicone caulk and five minutes of my time. I fixed it myself. Now I have to pay a drywaller to repair and paint four holes in my ceiling.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. -
They sent me 4 texts the day before appointment to confirm. I called when I got home to find out will they still be arriving at 4pm. At 420 they returned my call and stated all appointments have been canceled. It will be 3 to 4 weeks before we will schedule any appointments. You must find someone else to find and fix the leak if you cannot wait.
Charlie's plumbing has a contract to do any repair work where I live. You must pay them to cut off the water.
They knew I had the appointment, they add should have called me that morning when they knew they were cancelling my appointment. This is unprofessional.
They are adamant that you need to be at your home on time or you will be charged for being late. Common courtesy would have been you also tell BEFORE the appointment you have canceled it because of some other major issues somewhere else.
I would have preferred to give them no stars but at least the person who took my call was at least pleasant. -
This company was amazing Jose call me right away after I left a message to set up an appointment. He also kept me updated for arrival time 50 minutes later I had Philip at my door he was thorough he was kind he did what he needed to do for the time being to stop the leak. It took a while to find where the leaking was coming from. Philip never gave up until he finally found it. I’m so thankful. My original call was around 1 in the morning is now almost 3 in the morning, and due to their help my kitchen cabinets are safe 🙏🙏

Charlie's is a great plumbing company that provides top quality service. These guys are real pros. They are technically excellent. They stick with a problem until fixed correctly. Almost every time they diagnose problems the first time. We have used them for years, their bids are competitive. They might be less expensive, but none better for quality and variety of issues. We are impressed with Charlie's and their highly capable staff. They can handle large and small jobs.

I would not recommend. They said the problem & fix was totally different then what they did which was simply snake the drain. They stated a whole process of cutting pipes in my attic then reattaching which there are not pipes in my attic. Then they said this price would be $30 more than the $300 quoted but they would wave extra fee. Snaking a drain folks. Routine fix. When are plumbing companies going to stop this nonsense. Would never call here again.

I have to give them the lowest possible rating, I emailed them for a project that I'm working on and they are in need of plumbing services. The job is pretty extensive and I'm sure would be a great fit for a company that claims to be one of the best, but they never even responded to the service request. We have since now found a reliable plumber to complete the job, but I can't say that for Charlie's Plumbing and don't recommend a company that can't even return a service call.

Had some issues with our toilets in our commercial bathroom. Charlies did a fantastic job troubleshooting and communicating with us on why it was an issue and solving the problem. I highly recommend them if you have any plumbing problems. Thanks Charlies!

If his driving skills have any indication of his plumbing skills do not use. He pulled out into traffic talking on his phone, causing my car to engage automatic braking feature to avoid head on accident. As a sat there I took a picture of his van and him still on the phone. When I reached him by phone and told him what he had done his only response was have a nice day ma’am. No apology offered.

Irresponsible contractor. We paid money upfront for a fix that included him putting a camera through the pipes. But he never delivered upon it. We gave him a benefit of doubt and used his services to fix kitchen sink leak and faucet replacement. And this time he again agreed to get the camera work done. But not only he didn't do it but even the kitchen faucet work he did spring a leak thag ruined our cabinets. And now he has stopped responding. Will not recommend him to anyone. Engage at your own risk. I still cannot believe that this is the service I received after paying over two thousand dollars and giving them another chance.

COMPLETELY and utterly disgusted by the service by man named: Ayel Binjamen. DO NOT use AB Plumbing, you will be SO sorry. My husband is out of town and he ended up charging us $900 to fix a measly PVC pipe leaking from behind our wall. Long story, but he weasled his way into it. After calling around about the price, it should have only cost us $300.....We were so screwed it is unbelievable. Not to mention he is RUDE and makes you feel belittled. I will be turning his service in the the Better Business Burea.
