They came out the day after I called for service. They showed up 30 minutes early to do the chimney sweep. The entire process took about 25 minutes from start to finish. Our chimney had never been cleaned in the 17 years of living in our house. The cost was $110 as advertised. I will be using them more often. Great company to deal with.

My entire flue and chimney had separated. Spoke with Dale and he had somebody come out two days later for a free inspection. The guys were very professional and thorough. After the inspection we got a very reasonable quote to fix the issues. Dale had the guys out two days after the inspection and we were enjoying a fire only a week after finding the issues. I would recommend this business for any residential fireplace or chimney needs. Great group of people

David and Benny from Bay Area Chimney inspected, cleaned, and made some minor repairs to our well used fireplace. They were professional and left no trace of soot/dust. I would recommend them to anyone needing chimney maintenance.

Within 3 days of speaking with Dale at Bay Area Chimney Sweep & Repairs, two service reps were in my living room servicing the fireplace for the first time in the 12 years I've lived here. Kilroy and Benny had even called to ask if they could come early for the appointment. (Who manages their time so well these days that they can actually arrive early?!)

Within about an hour and a half these two guys had looked at the rooftop chimney cap, removed everything from the firebox (gas logs and grating), vacuumed the logs and the chimney stack, painted the inside of the firebox with black heat-resistant paint, plumbed in a secondary block valve on the gas line to the firebox, replaced the original aluminum gas supply line gas line with a braided stainless line, renewed the old log pan, and added sand and ember material (to make the fire logs look like they're sitting on the ground in a pile of embers). Then, when the work was complete, they re-installed the gas logs and showed me how to properly control the fire with the new secondary gas valve.

They also didn't replace what wasn't broken: I had thought there was something wrong with the chimney damper since it is always either wide open or totally closed. (I figured there were intermediate stops that must have gotten abraded off over time.) Kilroy educated me that dampers are supposed to operate wide open or closed and that you don't "throttle" with the damper because it can cause the fire to burn incompletely and emit carbon monoxide. He made sure I understood that before they left.

Actually, these 20-years-veterans of fireplace repair prioritize "safety first" in their work: they use compression fittings so there are no gas leaks to worry about when everything is re-connected (meaning there's no messy soap-the-line leak test required); and the new sand material they put into the firebox chemically inhibits carbon monoxide creation.

As for their work standards: they were as clean as any little old lady (like me) would want them to be"!! They laid down a heavy protective tarp in front of the hearth, protected the tile around the outside from paint overspray, and vacuumed up every spec of dust they removed from the chimney and firebox.

I couldn't be happier with the total inspection, cleaning, and repair work they did. The $260 price was "just right" for the amount of work they did.

Kudos, Bay Area Chimney Sweep & Repairs! I highly recommend your services and will definitely call on you in the future.

These guys know what they're doing! We had an old rusty sheet metal cap that was compromised after nearly 40 years and attempts to seal with tar. We had water spots in our kitchen ceiling adjacent to the chimney flue. They came, took measurements, fabricated a made-to-order replacement. A week later they came and installed it in 15 minutes! Slick!

If you are looking for chimney repairs reach out to Bay Area Chimney Sweep-Repairs they did an amazing job. Showed up on time, friendly & professional.
We decided to move forward with them after having another company come out and quote us a ridiculous price without ceramic logs, not the friendliest and just not who I would give my business to.
The gentleman who repaired, painted and installed the gas logs was awesome! Even showed me how to properly turn off & on. (We’ve been here for over 5 years and we have NEVER used our fireplace)
So as you can imagine I’m super excited!
The gentleman who repaired the crow wash was kind to send my husband pictures once the job was completed.
I’m very pleased and highly recommend them!
Will continue business with them for our yearly service.

These guys do excellent work. They showed up on time and had their equipment ready to work. They cleaned out the chimney in my condo which had not been used in more than 10 years. They kept everything clean. The price was what they quoted me. I am using the fireplace while writing this review and it is Awesome!!!! Have already recommended them to a neighbor

I called Bay Area Chimney after having a bad experience with another company and I wanted to set up an appointment for them to come out and inspect and clean my chimney. While speaking with the owner of the company he said he had some men close by on another job and he would have them come by and check things out. The guys came over and cleaned and inspected our chimney and made everything go smoothly. These were some of the most honest and caring people I had the honor of meeting. I will continue to use them for cleaning my chimney from now on. Thank you to all the guys and your boss for being so helpful and caring.
