I think Grassworks Lawn care did a fabulous installation in my backyard. Price was incredibly fair and the installation took less than 2 hours to do. I will say my only gripe with this company is the lack of communication and follow up is poor. You can NEVER reach someone on the phone for a question or clarification- only through email. So if you prefer to have more of a communicative business- pick otherwise I guess! They also installed the wrong type of grass… I wanted zoysia but got St. Augustine. But nonetheless- looks great. Just would’ve preferred the right grass since I’ve already had St. Augustine in the backyard installed before and the sod didn’t do so great. It’s a water guzzler for sure!

Grass works was great in helping us with our massive yard cleanup and tree trim. The staff was extremely responsive every step of the way! The price was extremely reasonable, and we were scheduled very quickly.

The team that did the work was excellent. They tackled the job very quickly, and they confirmed with us how we wanted a few of the more challenging trees trimmed. They took extra care around our furniture, kids toys, and other ‘stuff’ and they were extremely courteous the entire time. Before they left, we did a walk through and confirmed that everything looked beyond perfect!

Overall, the job surpassed my expectations, and we will definitely use Grass works again!

I contracted with this company in February 2024 for routine lawn maintenance + lawn care and was upsold to their “TLC program” and here’s what my yard currently looks like 9 months later. This also includes a $3000 landscape project. They have ignored my calls to discuss the situation (seems to be a theme if you read the other reviews) but have emailed me to advise they are discontinuing “service” for my address. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for incomplete work. Absolutely zero customer service or accountability from the management of this business. My advice would be to save yourself some time/headaches and look elsewhere for your yard and landscape needs.

I have used a lot of different companies over the years, but Grass Works BY FAR exceeded my expectations. The crew was outstanding, hard working and very neat. My family is very, happy with the results. A++++ Work!

They do such an amazing job and have such a wonderful eye for detail. They double check their work before leaving as if they were leaving it like their own homes. I couldn't ask for a better job!!!

Our experience all around with Grass Works was great. April 20, 2024 we had a crew come out to do a seasonal cleanup. The team was on time, and they really met our expectations! We absolutely will use them in the future. Thank you Grass Works! Because of the job they did, we have hired them to maintain our lawn. Thank You !

I want to say that Grass Works is great, but I can’t!

We had been using their TLC services for last 18 months while living in Rough Hollow… the services were to end on 3/31… and even though we paid for the whole month (in winter they come out twice/every two weeks) of March… did they did not come out on 3/27 to do the yards… so they only did the yard once on 3/13.

We concluded services because we moved to a much larger property in Sunset Valley; we already own a ride on mower and all the yard equipment, and my husband wanted to do the yard work… but the planters were in need of a good de-weeding & turning… so we got 3 quotes/estimates for a General Clean-up… all were submitted at a fix price… and each company came out and walked the property AND took pictures of the scope of work involved.

Grass Works was not the cheapest NOR the most expensive… but since we knew what we could expect from their crew… we went with them.

They showed up in 3/21 at 5:05 PM… we had been under severe storm warning for the past 36 hours and it rained pretty heavily up to 1:45PM… we checked in with them no less then 3 times that confirming if they were coming out or needed to reschedule due to the bad weather… and we were told that they were coming and if there were any issues with the work, once performed, they would take care of it.

At 7:00PM their crew still wasn’t done, and lightning and thunder had begun, as new storm was rolling in… and then the crew started packing up, and the guy in charge said he was sorry they hadn’t finished and to call the office.

And then 2 hours later we got an email asking for an additional $300.00 to complete the project. Understand this was fixed cost quote/estimate. Their documentation states that if they don’t finish the project they will send a crew back out the next day… this didn’t happen

There documentation also states that they stand behind their work… but we live on a large lot, these guys got here late in the day, the grass was wet and the entire job was rushed and done bad to begin with… the mow job, left row marks and every other row was nothing more then where the tires had flatted the wet grass, and you could rake your had across it and the 10” of grass would lift back up.

And then they charged us $649.00 for the complete project… even though they didn’t come back and complete it or fix the mess they left behind for us to clean up!!!

We recently had a landscaping project completed by Grass Works and are extremely pleased with the outcome. They are easy to deal with, and their installation crew were courteous and professional. The price they quoted was reasonable and we would definitely use Grass Works again.

The right side of the front yard between the recent drought and too much shade reduced two re-soddings to dirt and weeds in a matter of months despite an inground sprinkler system. We decided to scrape it clean and add limestone rocks. Grassworks came quickly, gave us a fair estimate, and scheduled thevwork within the month. The work team was so contentious. They not only did the work we asked them to do efficiently and effectively, but even weeded and de-leafed the rest of the front yard. It looked terrific when they were done.

They build you up and hype everything up, I was here when the estimator came to the house but everything else was done/run by my wife. They give you a day of the week that you're to be ''scheduled'' but then come a day or 2 later when you've made plans or want to let the dogs out. I get that the pets best be indoors when they're gonna mow for security reasons but come work on the day YOU SAID the workers were gonna do the job, not after and then blame us for not ''abiding'' to your rules, at first I thought it was because we chose the basic mowing service but it seemed to be a regular thing. I would not have been upset if I didn't see my wife so upset because her plans were ruined several times because Grass works can't get organized. Be consistent or don't make any promises you can't keep.

Grass Works has been cutting and edging my lawn for years, and they keep it looking clean, crisp, and well-kept without any fuss. Sharp lines, neat finish, no mess left behind.

They show up, do great work, and make the yard look like I’ve got it all together

Grass Works is scam or is totally incompetent!
I'm a Real Estate Investor and Property Manager and I have several properties in my Austin Portfolio. I hired Grass Works in the beginning of 2023 to take care of a perfectly rectangular 50'x24' perfectly leveled new bermuda lawn, with the scope to make it fantastic in 24 months. I spent almost $5,000.00 and today I don't even have anymore a lawn. Here in attached you can see the pictures of how it was before and how it is now after 24 month of Grass Works care!
I was never able to speak with someone able to explain to me what they were going to do to improve the situation that was clearly getting worse month by month. I asked to see the records of their services, they said that they don't keep records of the services. I asked them to explain to me what is the problem with the lawn and they told me only that the lawn is in hibernation!!!!
I hate to say this, because I love natural grass, but I understand why so much people is going with artificial grass.
I hope that my review will save a lot of people from Grass Works!!!

I was a client of Grass Works Lawn Care for a while, using them for both my own home and a family member’s home who is unable to do lawn work themselves. I originally signed up for their higher tier service, which was supposed to include mowing and edging twice a month, periodic hedge and bush trimming, and quarterly fertilizer applications.

I eventually canceled service at my own home due to poor communication and questionable scheduling. While they technically came twice a month, the timing often felt manipulated. One December they showed up on the 1st and then again on the 31st with no advance notice. When I asked about it, they blamed the holidays. I would have been fine with that if it had been communicated ahead of time, but instead it felt like they were just playing the numbers. I also never saw fertilizer applied or bushes trimmed despite paying for those services.

I kept them for my family member’s house but downgraded to basic mowing. That ended after a visit where the crew was on the property for less than ten minutes, barely mowed part of the yard, missed large areas, and still billed for a full service. I should not have to monitor and verify that work is being done when I am paying a professional company.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Grass Works Lawn Care. After reading other reviews, it appears these problems are not uncommon, which is concerning.

I cancelled my lawn service subscription today because I was charged BEFORE any services were done TWICE without any prior notice. On the dates I was pre-charged there was no mention of what dates the pre-charged lawn services would be done.
When I called their office and asked about the latest invoice, my lawn had not been mowed yet, I was told it was because of the Labor Day Holiday.
After requesting cancellion of the service, there was no mention of when the final pre-charge would be refunded over the phone or by email.

Amancio is wonderful to work with, extremely professional, and has a deep knowledge of landscaping maintenance and design. He has provided us with landscaping and design services, irrigation installation and maintenance, tree planting and lawn care -- all of which have been exceptional. We are extremely pleased with the results. Amancio is very easy to work with, and we appreciate his hard work, attention to detail, and landscaping recommendations. He delivered what he said he would do with care and clear communication. He is terrific and I would highly recommend his services.
