Reviews of local pros in Pasadena, Texas

Our Samsung refrigerator ice maker stopped making ice. I called our local Mr. Appliance and scheduled a repair tech to come out the next day. The tech called to advise that he could arrive early. After testing the unit, he advised that an internal part was broken and that the unit would have to be replaced. Two days later, he returned with the new unit and installed and tested it in a matter of minutes. Thanks Mr. Appliance for timely repair at a reasonable price.

The repair man Charles came out the first day after I called. He was very professional and nice and did a perfect job. I was very impressed with Mr. appliance in always.

Our service tech, Travis, was on time and professional.
Diagnosed the problem and gave his option on how to proceed. The circuit board on our oven had gone bad. He removed the faulty board and attempted to find a replacement, but could not find one for our 18 yr old oven, so suggested we repair our existing board. That process took 2 weeks, but they kept me informed on the process as we waited. Board installed and so far all has been good. -
Travis, and the whole team at Mr Appliance Deer Park are great. We’ve used them twice and both times they have gone above and beyond to address the issues we had with separate appliances (a stove and then a dryer). The dryer issue could have caused significant damage to our home, and they presented three options for repair and maintenance to ensure that no matter which option we chose, the primary problem was corrected. 10/10 would recommend and will be using them for any future needs.

The technicians and staff were great but the pricing set by the owner seems excessive to me. Javier, Charles and Travis came out to check my dryer and fixed the problem after the second try. Taylor in the office was professional, friendly and easy to talk to.

Technician arrived on time. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. He had our problem identified in less than an hour and repairs complete 30minutes later! Outstanding work and cleaned up the job site too!

Incredible experience from the very start! The technician was also very knowledgeable and helpful and was able to fix my fridge same day. Also, they saved me $100 compared to what Samsung quoted me to fix the same issue. Very happy with my experience!

Satisfied first time customer. Freezer was collecting ice & small leak on floor. Problem was quickly diagnosed & repaired. Removed the frozen ice, cleared out all the clogs/gunk & fixed all the problems. Very pleasant & answered all my questions. Price was extremely reasonable and so glad chose to repair over replace. Highly recommend!

This is the second time I have used Mr. Appliance. I have been very pleased both times. My tech Javier was very friendly and professional and above all honest in his assessment of what must be done. I had a washing machine barely 3 years old that had quit on me. Javier came out and looked at it. After a he had run some tests and looked it over, he told me that he could fix it but it would probably cost less to buy a new one. And he was right.
Today, he did routine cleaning and maintenance to my dryer. I am very pleased with this company and would certainly recommend to friends and definitely use again. -
Service individual (Travis) was very knowledgeable. He was on time, quickly diagnosed the problems, gave an accurate estimate and followed up to make sure my expectations were met. Very, very pleased with quality all the way around. No surprises.

EDITED WITH UPDATE: In response to the comment from Mr. Appliance below - Yes, your technician is coming out today to finish the job that was paid for. This review was written after I had verbally expressed my frustrations with your staff but prior to your company reaching back out to me to resolve the issue. I stand by my original review from the perspective that I felt misled about the services that I was paying for and am confident that had I not expressed my dissatisfaction, nothing further would have been done. That’s what I mean about bad business practice and lack of transparency. If that makes me a bad customer, then so be it. I just encourage you to increase transparency going forward and be upfront about what services are being paid for. Every customer deserves that.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: The staff were very friendly and scheduling was easy.
We had someone come out to run diagnostics on our dryer. He informed us that the dryer passed all of the tests and appeared to be working as it should. He suggested that our dryer vent/ducts needed to be cleaned out, so we scheduled them to come back out to do that. A couple of days later, someone came out to clean our dryer vent/ducts. After he was finished, he told me that I needed to have someone else remove the screen on the roof and clean it out. I paid Mr. Appliance over $300 and still have to pay someone else to come clean the roof screen. Had I known that Mr. Appliance couldn’t finish the job, I would’ve just hired someone else to handle all of it. I felt that I was misled by this company in the offer to perform the dryer vent/duct cleaning. Mr. Appliance should be transparent about what they can and can’t do. I’m out more money because of this bad business practice and lack of transparency on the part of this company. I suggest that they ensure transparency going forward to get repeat customers. I will not use Mr. Appliance again. -
Booking the appointment online for my washer repair was very straightforward and easy. The technician who came to our house was efficient, providing an initial evaluation and returning a few days later to complete the repair once the necessary part was ordered. If we require any future repairs, we will definitely be using this company again.

Have you ever sprained your ankle, went to the doctor, for them to tell you that you sprained your ankle and then hand you a bill for $125 dollars? That was my experience with with Mr.Appliance
Called them out to look at my dryer, they came and made their assessment and was confidently told I had a bad thermostat to which would be an easy and quick repair that would cost me $450 dollars. Then he asked if I would like him to clean the unit for a fee of $100 which then knocked down to $50 so now my $450 had turned to $500+tax but the confidence of the technician made me okay to green light the expense. He began his work and I, from another room heard him testing the unit after installing the part and heard it kept failing. Then he proceeded to call his boss, a man by the name of Travis. To which he explained his process and then was guided to come and tell me that it was now a motherboard issue (so a technician that isn’t even working at my house is the one who called the shot on the problem?) and I would be charged $640 to repair (which is close to the cost of a new dryer) or pay the $125 fee of having the technician, a man named Shelby come and work on the unit. When I had told Shelby that I would need to think it over for a couple of minutes he told me that he would like to start putting my unit back together because he was now very behind in his day. So now I felt rushed in a decision to spend a good bit of money. When asking Shelby what would happen if the motherboard wouldn’t fix it I was told I would eat the cost and that I could keep the part in hopes to sell to get my money back.
With that information I came to the conclusion if a company takes your money and can’t fix a problem and still charges then it’s not a company I want to do business with.
The end of the experience was me waking up early for my schedule, being told the dryer would be fixed, the dryer not being fixed, being told I could gamble on a part that if it didn’t work I would have to pawn off in hopes to recoup my loses, and then being charged $125. A awful experience, business model, lack of communication from a company who I thought to seem have it right. What a let down.
And side bar for my loyal readers, the company seems to reply to every review and will most likely say how “they offered me other services to put the 125 to good use” or that in some way the dryer being broke was my fault. Should they do this the key take away is and I can’t stress this enough, they wanted to charge me a new dryers worth and then have me sell the parts after it didn't work. I’m not a salesman nor a fool and I don’t play at being either.
And with that I bid you all a sleepy, lighter wallet, and wrinkled hang dried tee shirt so long and fair well. -
