A door to door salesman, Caleb S., said he worked for Lux. He had a Lux shirt. No permit, no business cards because "we are green." He had no way to prove who he said he was, aside from a driver's license. He pressured us to decide today because he was "so" busy. So either (1) he was impersonating Lux or (2) Lux is a scam company planning to skip town with your money. Either way, consumers should know about this.

Edit: scrolling down, their only positive reviews are from google users with 1 review, likely fake profiles. The positive reviews also likely aincludereviews from employees (Taheem, a reviewer, is the same name as another review's salesman)

I was approached by Bradyn regarding solar panels. It was in the evening, but solar is something I have considered for a while. He was friendly, easy to speak with and explained how easy the process is. He gave realistic expectations when it came to timeframes and how the process works. They were there throughout the entire process checking in to see if I had questions and to keep me updated. Could not recommend this group more. The hardest part on my end was signing documents. Everything else was taken care of.

I HAVE A NO SOLICITORS SIGN AND A DO NOT KNOCK SIGN. The salesman ignored both, knocked. My dogs barking woke my kids, I open the door to tell him the signs say we aren’t aren’t interested: he says he doesn’t care what signs say. My kids were screaming and I asked to please go as now I have to get everyone settled. ZERO REMOURSE!
What kind of sales tactic is disturbing peoples peace in their own home?

So far it has been great. Lux has taken care of all of the paperwork with CPS and my HOA. The roof inspections was done quickly and be a sub contracting company that has the same high level of customer service and commitment to quality.

As others have stated do not insult our intelligence with this attempt at a sale under the pretense of “information from the government regarding CPS energy”. Stop trespassing if your product stood on its own you would not need to resort to such cheap tactics in my opinion. Stay away from my property. Additionally your feed back to other reviews shows the lack of respect this company has. I recommend obeying the law, being respectful, and stop disturbing the peace.

Super nice people to talk with. They answered all our questions and were thorough in their presentation. Give them an hour of your time, it'll be worth it. Taheem is very knowledgeable, as is Tristan, unfortunately, I can't remember the other guy's name. Looking forward to install.

From the very first conversation with Taheem, he was reliable and upfront with any questions asked. Even during this COVID, pandemic, the entire process was reasonably fast. We were told it may take longer since the pandemic but actually our install happened earlier than expected. My wife and I are happy so far with the process. Thank you!

AVOID THIS COMPANY! I have spoken with the management of this company and they refuse to honor their promises. When I pressed the issue they avoid me.

I need to speak with someone from Lux Solar Energy. None of the things you said when selling me the panels have happened. CPS & Advanced Solar are working together to find out the issue. Now you have lied to on multiple occasions.

Do not be unprofessional and avoid a serious issues as this.

Just spoke withTaheem, and I am very impressed. I'm excited to have solar panels installed. Will update with more info as this progresses. Installing new roof and panels, all financed together and bundled with incentives to boost my energy efficiency.

Contract signed and install dates scheduled - all is still going great. Taheem has been available to answer all of my many, many, many questions and has truly assisted every step of the way so far. More updates to come...

Great experience working with Taheem and the Lux Energy team! Got my solar panels with extreme ease, and when I had an issue with the loan company a year later Taheem took care of it within a day. Amazing customer service! I highly recommend reaching out to Lux Energy if you are in the solar panel market!!

l This company needs to stop the door to door sales tactics.
This is the second time in a month someone has tried to come by and “not sell me something”. I said multiple times that I wasn’t interested in solar and it was a bad time. The salesman continued to pressure me into setting up a consultation. When POLITELY declined, multiple times, I was told that they “were just trying to do their jobs” and that “i have kids to feed.” He wouldn’t leave my porch until I shut my front door.
It is 100% UNACCEPTABLE to try and pressure someone like that. If I ever consider solar again, you can be damned sure I’m not calling Lux Energy.

If you are looking for different alternative for energy Lux Energy is the right place to get your solar system! Their employee Alex got me so interested in getting more info that we set up an appointment with Taheem Perez. His knowledge and expertise got us to switch to solar energy! We are very happy and excited! These guys deserve a raise for all there hard work! My family and I will definitely recommend Lux Energy to all our family and friends 😀

I set up a meeting after a representative from Lux energy stopped by my home. I was in a hurry but set it up to learn a little more information. I definitely was not purchasing anything but it doesn’t hurt to listen. As an Electrical Engineer I work many hours, but they were able to set up a meeting at 8pm on a weekday.since I didn’t want to spend my time on the weekend in another meeting. Taheem Solar, the area manager came by and started talking to me. To his defense my first questions were in regards to the equipment, how it worked, how was it connected, the Nema rating for the inverter enclosure the hardware was furnished with, etc. Taheem might have known all the answers but called the owner and other executives to see if they could answer my questions. He went above and beyond to make sure that he could answer all my questions. He might be a little bit of a salesperson but was respectful and not pushy on asking me to purchase solar. After a while and doing my own research beforehand, we purchased solar panels for our home. We are excited and looking forward to the process. Taheem met me at different hours of the week to help set up my loan papers, assist me in answering additional questions while I signed paperwork, he filed the warranty with the installer and filed the paperwork with my HOA. Not many companies would do all this for a client. So far the process has been seamless. The surveyor came to my home in less than a week after signing. If you want to purchase solar, we would highly recommend calling Lux Energy.

Will continue to update our review as we progress in this endeavor.

The whole process has been so easy from the time Taheem explained everything to me, to the office working with my HOA and CPS to get my design approved to the installation. I have been very happy and can't wait to see the savings on my bill. Thank you for being a great company to work with.

Our initial appointment was on 15 August 2019. It is now the 23rd of January and the process is not complete so I’m paying CPS and for the solar panels. The company is blaming CPS but my contract was signed with Lux. I truly want to be excited about my solar panels but it’s difficult when the process has been dragged on for months and instead of saving, I’m losing money. And of course there’s nothing anyone can/will do about it. I’m glad that other had better experiences but I, in good conscious, can’t recommend this company to my friends and family.

Several minutes ago, I spoke with a representative from Lux Energy. I had just returned from a Starbucks run, and the rep was already there in his white sports car. When I got out the car, he approached me, and I told him that I had already cancelled the meeting via email earlier in the week. I also told him that I had sent another email to someone at Lux explaining that I was no longer interested. (It turns out the person I email was the manager over the particular area I live. That manager didn't relay that info to the rep).

Of course, the rep asks, 'Why are you no longer interested?' To which, I respond that I've dealt with a solar company before, and I don't see how Lux is any different. Still, he persists with his sales pitch of how much I can save. I told him I'm not interested. When I ask him how much are the solar panels, he says, "Well how much is your normal bill?" I ask him how is that relevant. He explains that how much electricity I use determines how many panels should go up.

That made sense. However, he proceeds to say (and I'm paraphrasing), "Take me, for instance, I travel a lot, so I don't use a lot of electricity. You don't look like you travel a lot so it may be more." Maybe he didn't mean to insult me (which is a big MAYBE), but his smug demeanor sure came off that way. (And keep in mind, I've told him multiple times that I'm not interested, by this point).

Eventually, I ask him how much is ONE solar panel. I don't remember the exact number he gave, but it was enough to make me reiterate for the fifth or sixth time that I wasn't interested. I told him, I'm comfortable with what I'm currently playing right now. Sure, Dominion Energy here in South Carolina practically has a monopoly, but at least I can pay my bills without feeling like any money I save with solar is going right back into paying off panels for 'X' amount of years! I'd rather pay for the panels up front, then to be on the hook with yet another company for indefinite duration of time.

My wife and I have eliminated two credit cards, are in the process of getting rid of a third by next year, and we're tackling our student loan debts. At this rate, I'll be debt free by the time I'm 40, maybe even 35! The LAST thing on my mind is owing somebody else unless I can pay it outright. And I'm definitely not going to be on the hook for panels should I move within the next 5 to 10 years.

Maybe I'll be interested in solar when I eliminate even more debt. But one thing is for sure, if the quality of representatives was like the man who showed up in my yard this morning, I'm not doing business with Lux. I've spoken with another solar company before, and when I said I wasn't interested, they cared enough about my business to say, "Hey, if you change your mind, give us a call."

This rep, however, was pushy, and when I pushed back, he made it seem like I was being the irrational one. He even asked me a question, but then push-started his loud sports car as I'm answering him! After the last time I told him I wasn't interested, he went to his car, gave me the obligatory, but feigned, "Have a nice day!" and then added a "By the way, I'm going to mark this down, and you're rates are going to go up!"

I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Heck, I'd probably be mad too if I drove somewhere only to find out that my manager hadn't told me that the meeting was cancelled earlier in the week. Still, the way the rep pushed and pushed was out of pocket, which only made me angrier as the time went by. I'm not a fan of pushy salespeople, especially because I was vulnerable to those tactics in the past which led me to the situation I'm currently climbing out of.

If I HAVE to get solar eventually, I'd rather deal with any other company than Lux! I'd give 0 stars if I had the chance.

P.S.: I haven't even discussed HOW the meeting got set up in the first place. The salespeople who scheduled the meeting were pushy, as well, but they seemed WAY more professional than this guy.

I get you have door to door salesman, however I have an issue when they ignore my do not disturb signs, and no soliciting signs. As you said in other comments, we can choose to accept or decline, however, my property is marked to decline any door to door sales/contacts. Further to add my frustrations, the two men refused to leave my property, trying to get information on my meters and the homeowner, lecturing me they're not solicitors. I repeatedly demanded they leave at once and they began to raise their voice and attempted with their sales pitch. It may be there job, but it is my job to protect my home from strangers. In times like these, we cannot trust anyone. Next time I see y'all on my property, I will be contacting police and pressing charges for criminal trespassing as outlined in Texas penal code 30.05. Don't ignore my signs, and if you happen to not see it, once a homeowner or representative of the property asks to vacate, you must comply as outlined in law. I only accept scheduled visits, for security. Your employees may work hard, but they lack integrity and compassion.

Insanely rude customer service. Wish i would’ve known the door to door salesman’s name. He had facial hair and purple hair.
Anyways, my wife spoke to him through our ring camera, and he mentioned there was an issue with our meter that he was looking to discuss. I go out to verify and he starts his spill. I thank him for his information but we aren’t interested. Immediately continues to discuss the opportunities we would be missing out on (no worries, that’s his job). But after the 3rd time telling him that we are not interested, he starts raising his voice and telling me “well have fun with your debt!” Mind you, we aren’t even in debt $1, but again, that’s his pitch i guess? Either way, extremely unprofessional and rude. Would gladly go to a rival company over this one.

Pay is behind smoke and mirrors. It is very inconsistent, I often got tricked with my pay. And after big sales, I had to call management constantly to "remind" them to pay me. When they finally did pay, after hours of reminding them, the pay was wayyyyyy lower than what was agreed upon. Still haven't received some payments I'm owed from this company, very sad and exhausting experience. Many false promises, they are extremely helpful in the beginning but as time goes on, the help disappears. And the blame game starts. Started off full time, but eventually had to take a second job, which made them angry. In short, I wouldn't recommend this place to upstart salesmen, Entrepreneurs, or to people whose family depends on consistent payment.

They are really thoughtful and ultimately helped me when I had an issue not only with my energy bill that would jump up from time to time, just over random appliances being left on by my kids while working or away from the house for extended periods of time, but also with my roof after this hail devastated my family. They had all of the information I had questions about, and what I felt was most Important to me was that they made sure that my best interests were a priority for them as well!
Loved them! Can’t wait for panels!!

These folks..Liza and Robert...were absolutely fantastic. The entire project went smoothly, and I was very happy with the process. As promised, they handled all the legalities and permits. I got fast answers to my questions, and the install team was professional and polite. Panels look amazing..sleek and stylish. Thank you guys, I appreciate the fantastic service. Bring it on, Texas 🌞....we're putting you to work!
