RUN! Not worth the headache!

Pool resurface project started in August. Project finally got done in Dec. Pool maintenance / cleaning is SUB-PAR.

Poolside was very rapid on responding and fixing my problems. The tech that came out was knowledgeable and very quick with the repairs. I will definitely recommend Poolside to anyone that needs pool repairs.

3 stars because I have had mixed results with them. When I have gone into the store, the service department has helped me with a couple of problems that I as a "do-it-yourself" person could fix. On the other hand, when I needed them to fix a problem that I couldn't and have called, I always get the answering machine and when I've left a message, they have not returned the call. Good for them they are that busy...

Today I had to break my relationship with Poolside (the service side). I have had on and off issues with both the management office, and the cleaning service itself. The cleanings were more often sub-par, with continually dirty pool floors (especially the spa) an hour after a cleaning (soot/dirt), skimmer contents emptied right next to the skimmer itself (see image), and even broken off drain covers after cleanings. And when notifying the office, many things are ignored that we might ask for service on, such as the previously mentioned cover, or even more important, cracked pipes next to the pump.

This company changed ownership a couple months ago (after last positive review). I started receiving sub-par service and when i brought this to the attention of the owner, he was indifferent and seemed irritated he was bothered. Poolside missed service appointments and took my pool equipment without returning all of it. After giving Poolside an opportunity rectify the situation, ownership was not attentive and has yet to return all my equipment. You are certain to have less problems with another service provider.

Poolside Services & PoolZoom are true professionals! They’re responsiveness to service and/or upgrade requests are second to none! Had Mike and Charles install LED lighting (replacing old halogen lighting), a new IntelliFlow Pentair pump, a new control panel, and I couldn’t be any happier! Prices were very reasonable, more than fair, and most importantly the work and results were outstanding! I give them my highest recommendation and you’re welcome to contact me at any time for more info!

Mike and his crew have always taken a personal interest in our project, from start to finish—from driving around town with us to show us previous projects before we hired him to do ours, to coming out personally several years after completion of our pool to check on a light that was out.
We chose Artisan Pools initially because of the value of what Mike offered us at a lower price point than other pool companies in town. Undoubtedly, had we chosen a different company, we wouldn’t have gotten the same level of personal attention and commitment to quality during—and especially after—construction.
Our pool is the centerpiece of our backyard, the envy of all the neighbors, and we credit Mike and his crew for bringing our ideas to life!

The staff at Poolside Services are quick to answer my questions or concerns and professional in handling them.
For years, I had trouble every spring with algae and milky colored water when I handled my own chemicals. I finally gave up and made the call to Poolside Services. My pool has sparkled ever since!

Poolside Services replastered my pool in 2021. Now in 2024 I have rebar coming through again. Looks terrible. Low quality work. Definitely DON’T recommend them.

We have not been able to use our pool in months. Issues with replacement parts, low staffing, and poor communication plagued us through 4 different pool service companies.We called Poolside on the recommendation of a neighbor. They fixed the problems THAT VERY DAY! They are responsive, professional, communicative, and we will never use another pool service company again. Thank you for giving us our pool back!

Awesome service! Had a stuck skimmer basket, service tech, Jacob showed up on time and removed basket, cleaned filter, vacuumed pool and added chemicals in about an hour. Glad I called them.

Totally agree with Esra—Not worth the headache! They did a complete pool remodel & said it would be done by November. In March of the following year, we were still waiting with the pool empty all winter. They finally finished by end of March & did the plaster on a rainy drizzling day leaving blemishes in the plaster. A little over a year later, cracks started appearing from the top of the stairs where they installed a tanning deck & the cracks ran all the way down to bottom of pool. Started leaking 1/2 to 3/4 inches per day, so now I’m back to square one. Very disappointing! Don’t expect quality repairs from this company nor satisfactory communication during the very long process nor any kind of warranty after 12 mos. on all the gunnite they shoot that ends up leaking. Substandard workmanship...

I left 1 star so I could leave a review. Avoid this “company” ‼️ They promise and NEVER deliver. Here are multiple reasons:
1: NEVER answer their calls.
2: Chris their pool tech doesn’t want to put the work in. Drain the pool is his answer to EVERY problem.
3: They ghost you for months at a time, while your pool goes green.
4: If they had done the job, We would be able to get in our pool. Instead they disappear , while your pool gets greener.
5: I am reporting them to the BBB and going on YELP!

Needed my pool pump replaced. They did it in 30 minutes very professional and efficient. I couldn't ask for anything more. Since my pool pump was Energy Star Efficient. It qualified for CPS rebate - Poolside filled out all the paper work and I just mailed it in. Thanks Poolside Will definitely be calling you again for my pool concerns AWESOME AWESOME

I do not recommend this company to anyone. They have been “cleaning” our pool for a year or so. Two months ago they told us we needed a new filter. We agreed, didn’t question the price but the filter was never ordered and to this day not shown up. The last three weeks the service has gotten progressively worse. They decided to raise their monthly rate to $220 which they justified by the increased pricing on chemicals. We agreed, however since the day they raised the rate the pool guy claimed to be adding chemicals each week. Our pool is completely green. We were told the owner Mike would come today to install the filter and fix the situation. Mike came today but spent exactly 3 minutes in the backyard and did absolutely nothing. He said that he is the owner and comes to look so he can guide his guys and that he doesn’t do the work. Mike has forgotten about how to take care of his customer! I gave this one star because there isn’t an ability to give negative stars.

I do not recommend Poolside Services to anyone. Mike was pleasant enough when he came out and took a look at my spa leak. He was given a leak detection report on the spa and said he could do the repair. He gave me a quote, which I agreed to and asked for half deposit down to do the repair. (seemed reasonable to me). After a lot of back and forth, Mike finally sent somebody to do the repair. His technician dug a hole and repaired a 90 degree joint on the plumbing at the back of one of my spa jets. Even though the leak detection report found the leak inside the spa jet wall with pictures showing the leak. His technician was there about an hour. I have a camera in my backyard so I know exactly how long he was there. The next day the spa was still leaking. I asked Mike to come back and take a look and see what he could find. After a couple days back and forth again, he said he came by and looked and that everything looked okay, which was a blatant lie. I have video footage of Mike walking to the front of my house and then for some reason turned around and never going into the backyard. I asked him about it and he said oh yeah I didn't check it because I couldn't get in. Another lie the gate was unlocked the entire time. Mike then continued to not return my calls or texts nor my requests for a corrected invoice for a fair amount of the work done. I would have been happy to pay for the hour worth of labor and the part that was replaced. Nothing. No response. I still have not been refunded anything from the company. I am guessing the job turned into something bigger that Mike did not want to take on, which is fine. Just be honest with your customer.
This is an unprofessional group; completely unresponsive, and lies to their customers.

Update 6/20/25: Poolside acknowledged not calling and is working diligently to earn our business. So far they have been professional discussing the issue.
Original: Had an appointment for 8:30-9:00am. 9:30am rolled around and no one had shown up so i called and was told Mike would be there sometime in the morning, but definitely before noon. Noon rolled around, no Mike. 5pm rolled around, no Mike. No one called to check in, apologize, or reschedule. That's a bad way to start. I would have understood if someone called with an update, but there was no communication.

Hi, I have been with Poolside Services for a very long time. They have some real good service. The Lady who runs the Office show, Danielle, she keep all of us customer her concern and give all of U the great personal service, whether it is billing or making sure we get the Best of Service in our Pool cleaning, she is on Top of all of this Service, that is the biggest incentive that I do business with Poolside service, although I have never met Danielle in Person, but I have many times talk to her on the phone and always got the best service ever. As long as Danielle is runing that show, I will always be a good customer and prefer this Service to all the people i know that have Pools.

If you want green pool hire them!
Obviously would not recommend this to anybody. We have been using this company for over a year and it kept on getting worse and worse. They don’t clean or service the pool properly.

***update*** It is not false review. The pool was just like this when your technician left. We fired you because your technician didn’t do her job properly. She did not have a vacuum nor a wire brush. Every week she used our vacuum adapter to halfway vacuum the pool. We did not have a single complaint about 2 months ago when the pool was done properly and its chemicals were balanced. Now, all chemicals are unbalanced, pool is green, we have black green yellow algae, 280 CYA, 5.9 PH, and 10 FC, and you have records of it. Check with your assistant and you see we brought this condition to your attention the same day after cleaning, 09/13. We are not posting anything false, just the reality and you know it!
