I had an excellent experience with VHS Landscaping from start to finish. It is with great pleasure that I write this outstanding review and strong recommendation. I collected 6 bids on erosion issues surrounding a home in the Leon Valley area of San Antonio. After notifying VHS of my interest via email, Sean got back to me the same day. After Sean walked the prospective landscaping project and talked with me, I was provided a detailed written bid of his recommendations that included labor and materials, and was easy to assess and compare. Although VHS was one of the higher bids, after talking with Sean about his plan, I was convinced he was the most experienced, professional and conscientious for the job, which included correcting erosion issues. Sean was able to accommodate my schedule even though San Antonio had many rain days that slowed their pending projects. Sean and his team installed my landscaping project as if it was their own property. Their skill and experience were reflected both in their work ethic on display while on the job and in the finished project. A special shout-out to Felix and Angel for their professional contribution. Overall, I had an excellent experience and I am extremely pleased with the work - the yard and landscaping look great! I highly recommend VHS Landscaping and specifically Sean and his team!

We had a great experience with VHS Landscaping. They provided quality work and were responsive throughout the project. I've seen other companies take shortcuts when they're doing stonework. VHS did it exactly how it should be done. We're very happy with the craftsmanship of the finished product.

I recently used VHS for a complete redesign, demo, and installation of a 1/2 acre of landscaping and irrigation around my house. I can't fully express what a great experience it was. They delivered on everything they promised on and more. They pivoted as needed and always listened to our thoughts or ideas. With a job this size you would expect some major issues but we had zero. VHS went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the final product and that the budget was respected. We are also using them for a project involving more construction at my mothers house that has turned out amazing. As much as I'd like to say I'm done with home projects I know I will have more and I will ONLY be using this company. Thank you G and Byron!

We hired VHS Landscaping to add additional square footage to our concrete backyard patio, landscaping and planting, and brick and mortar work in the front yard. The entire team was great to work with and very responsive and professional. The crews were very considerate and did a great job of cleaning up at the end of every day so our neighbors were not irritated with us! They finished the project quickly and with high quality. We could not be more pleased. The planning process was easy too, and G did a great job on the layout, plants and materials. We shopped several companies in San Antonio and VHS was competitive with their prices. We will definitely be requesting their help with any future projects.

I had a really good experience with VHS Landscaping. My primary contact was G. He was very courteous, responsive and kept me updated. When they started the project it was amazing as all the members knew exactly what needed to be done and they were very professional and respectful of the property. Some of the grass did not take, but G has already assured me it would be taken care of and I have complete faith that it will be addressed when the time is right. I do plan on using VHS Landscaping again as G made the entire process easy. I would highly recommend this company and I would specifically request G as the main contact.

We were very happy with Chris/VHS and the communication throughout. We loved the detailed landscape design and felt Chris was very knowledgeable and wanted a high quality result!
When the project started, the crew was on time, cleaned up and very professional which made the experience very postive!

VHS is world class. They show up and do the work when and as promised. They are flexible with their advice and timeline. Their estimates are detailed and professional. They are communicative. They do beautiful and good work. And most importantly, when unforeseen problems pop up, they take ownership, validate a path forward, and adjust as needed. They are not your fly by night operation. I found their pricing more than reasonable when compared to similar service providers.I will gladly hire them again for the next phases of my project.

Highly recommend VHS Landscaping. Friendly, professional, highly experienced staff. They listened to a general description of what I wanted and staying within my budget, came up with an amazing design that looks amazing! They were careful to limit the impact of the project on the rest of my lawn and the clean up was so good, my lawn had fewer rocks than before they started.

What a pleasure it was to work with VHS Landscaping. We all have had experiences with bad contractors and often at the end of the engagement you hope you never have to interact with them ever again. Not the case with VHS Landscaping in fact I am already thinking about the next project.

Our backyard had some significant issues that were overwhelming to handle by myself. Our yard like most other suburban properties in San Antonio has topographical features that made proper drainage difficult. Also, our yard has 18 oak trees that prevented grass from growing which actually accelerated the erosion of topsoil. I was so embarrassed by my backyard that I avoided it, but I was also frustrated because I was missing out on extra living space.

After my 1st meeting with Chris I was confident in his expertise and provided some high level element details I was looking for and he and his team did the rest. The result is a beautiful yard for our family and friends to relax and get away from stress, a true sanctuary. Even my neighbor, a landscape expert loves to come over and hang out in the backyard.

After an extensive home remodel our backyard was an absolute mess. VHS has transformed the space into a place of beauty! Each of their tradesmen is skilled, experienced, and a pleasure to work with. They cleared the mess, built fresh perimeter fencing, installed a new irrigation system, constructed a lovely pergola, laid artificial turf, planted, spread river stone, and created a beautiful 18’ gate that opens smoothly and easily over the newly widened concrete and paver driveway.
During the project our adjustment requests were received kindly and with a “can do” attitude - Sean and Jose are great to work with.
They were on time, here when they said they would be, and clearly communicated additional costs for changes.

I cannot say enough good things about Jose and his team. Jose listened very carefully to what I wanted and delivered quickly and efficiently. He went above and beyond on things that he noticed to improve my landscaping and drainage even more. His team were friendly and took such pride in their work. We are very pleased with the landscaping done by VHS. Chris used his expertise to advise and plan the best and most cost effective solutions. When work started, the crew was always on time and worked very hard to make sure the work was done with high quality, including hours spent tamping down the rocks. Byron followed up to make sure we were satisfied. This is the second time we have used VHS Landscaping, but it will not be the last.

1000% love this team. My backyard was a disaster and had been since I bought the house 2 years ago. I had seeded multiple times and because of the slope it always washed away. Sean came out and walked the yard with me asking what my final vision of the yard was and talked through multiple options for how to achieve it. I'm pretty handy and DIY but I knew I couldn't handle the leveling and building of a safe retaining wall. Sean listened to me and gave me all my options for plans and material and never tried to upset or dismiss my ideas, concerns or needs. The team was able to start a week and a half after my consult while I was out of town so I would miss the bulk of the loud construction. Generous was the foreman for the project and when I returned from my trip he walked me through each step they had completed and explained the engineering and functionality of the design. He was quick to help me with a small change I needed to make and even offered ideas for future options to incorporate what they did with my vision for including my side yard. Bryce was the supervisor who came out multiple times to check in with me and make sure everything was going to plan and inspect the work when it was done. Hands down I want Sean and Genaro as my team for all my future projects.

Chris and his team were great to work with from the initial consultation to completing our projects. We have had VHS come to our home twice in the last two years to totally transform our property.

The first project was to extend our patio with pavers, install artificial turf in the backyard including river rock and mulch, install lighting in the front yard, and plant 123 plants overall with drip irrigation. The second project was to replace our sprinkler system in the front yard and lay new sod that was more adaptable for all of the shade.

Chris, Byron, and Sean were very professional and knowledgeable in working with us. The crews they had on our projects were very respectful and conscientious too. People in our neighborhood have told us how wonderful our yard looks and have especially been impressed with our backyard. We couldn’t have chosen a better company to work with than VHS Outdoor Living.

After spending the last few years fully renovating the inside of our house we felt like this was the year to finally address the outside. And since our knowledge of landscaping felt limited, we knew we wanted to team up with a full soup to nuts company to help guide us through the process. Upon coming across VHS Landscaping’s website, I felt like I might have found the right team. Their site is rich in content and really does a fantastic job explaining their services and how the entire process would work. And their portfolio of work was impressive to say the least.

I was slightly apprehensive about paying the consultation fee that was required to receive an estimate, but all those worries were put aside when Chris and Sean met with us to discuss our potential project. Both of them listened carefully to our ideas and took their time to understand our style and needs. And honestly even if we decided not to go with them the knowledge I gained from our consultation was worth the price alone. After spending a little over an hour with them they stayed around to measure our property and told us we would receive our estimate in a week and exactly one week later I was happy to see the estimate arrived as promised.

The estimate was very detailed and broke down all the proposed work and not a single thing we discussed during our consultation was missing from the list. At this point I knew we found our team and decided that we wanted to utilize their design service to make sure we all had a clear picture of the final design. And I must say paying for their design service was some of the best money we ever spent. The entire process consisted of three in person meetings and took about a month until we received the final designs in hand. These plans included a scope of our full design, our hardscape design, our landscape design and a full plant list. Sean took his time to make sure everything on the design was to our satisfaction and was available for any questions or revisions before the project started.

Our full project included an entire front and backyard makeover along with help from their construction team to add new fencing, lattice / projector screens and a fully screened in patio. Jose was our project manager for the project, and he was great at communicating with us daily and kept us updated with any changes or news that needed to be relayed. Their team arrived on time every day and left the place cleaner than they found it. They were all respectful of our space and our property. Any issues that came up during the project were always met with at least three solutions. And they were always accepting of any changes or corrections that were brough to their attention. I cannot thank Jose and the team he oversaw enough for their professionalism and level of skills that they brought with them every singe day.

This project transformed our house in a way that I could never have imagined. We finally have the usable outdoor space that we always dreamed of but never felt like we could achieve on our own. It now feels like we have added on to the full usable square footage of our house and it brings a smile to my face every time I look outside and see my family enjoying the outdoors.
