Thank You Hill Horticulture for the achieving exactly what I asked for in my landscaping imagination. 🤩 The whole process from inception to conception was a delight to say the least. I had approximately 14 plants/trees removed and replaced with new drought resistant sun thriving plants. Along with the spreading of 6 cu yds of river rock in this Tx heat. Thank you for coming to our home for the reasonable estimate Marc! Armando and Efram did an amazing job in listening to detail of request. And lastly, Rudy the Supervisor followed up a few days later to make certain I was completely happy with the job. I will most certainly hire HH for future landscaping needs. I have also recommended them to my La Vernia friends.

Landscape looked nice at time it was installed. However, about a year and a half later and the area is infested with weeds and grass overtaking the rocks and shrubbery and trees. Looks as though a barrier was never installed although HH says it was. My yard person regularly maintains the yard, but seems to be pulling weeds and grass from within the plant bed, “too often”, to use his words.

I am more than delighted by the wonderful hardscaping job done by Hill Horticulture team at my house! Edwin is an excellent representative, responsive and professional. The flower bed that Hill Horticulture have build on my front yard exceeded all my expectations! Stones are stunning and perfectly match my limestone siding and the KO roses planted are lovely and already blossoming. I already got a lot of compliments from my neighbors and strongly recommended Hill Horticulture for all their hardscaping/landscaping work. Thanks so very much Hill Horticulture!

If there was an option for zero stars, that is the rating we would select for our experience with Hill Horticulture.

We chose this company due to positive on line reviews (however, please note any positive reviews are over a year old). This is not a professional landscape company as presented. We had artificial turf installed in our back yard since it’s a very small area to maintain. Within 48 hours of the installation, the turf burned due to the sun reflecting from our backyard kitchen windows. (Not their fault) We paid $1K for window tint to solve the problem (which we had to research to fix the problem) & we were completely fine with that. (again, not their fault)
Hill Horticulture agreed to fix the area that had burned. Their fix was a noticeable replacement patch. They felt “washing” the patched area would help make the patch less noticeable, however it did not make much of a difference. The response is that’s all we can do.

In regards to the professional plant installation, we had a budget in our contract for plants for the back & front yard. We were asked to meet them at their wholesale nursery to select plants. When we got there our sales person asked what did we want & how many. We were extremely disappointed with the guidance and lack of plant knowledge. Basically, we selected the plants & chose where they would be installed. The trip to the wholesale nursery was three times higher than a local nursery (Millbergers). Millbergers had the same plants, delivered & installed would have been approximately 1/3 of the cost. Millbergers plants were also in better condition. When asked that Hill Horticulture cancel the plant portion of the agreement, we were told it’s in your contract & you’ll pay the amount budgeted for the job whether you have the plants installed or not. With our hands tied, we agreed and paid a costly price for the service received.

There were several other issues they tried to correct, however it is still not satisfactory. Instead of asking to fix anything else, we decided to be done with Hill Horticulture.

Our friends & family have also witnessed the poor customer service & installation experience. They highly recommended we take the time to post this review to help other consumers make a better buying decision than ours.

Hill did a complete overhaul of our front and back yard and they did a terrific job. From the planning all the way through the very end of the project, they were professional and incredibly responsive. They repurposed our existing irrigation, installed lighting throughout the front and back, built a flagstone patio extension and pathway as well as added plants, turf and trees throughout the front and back yard. I would highly recommend Hill Horticulture to anyone looking to change or add to their existing landscape.

Have used Hill Horticulture on a landscaping project in 2018 and was very impressed with the sales person and all the staff that did the work on our project. Truly impressed with the level of detail that this company did and the installers who did the work. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave a mess. So naturally when it came time to have some top dressing put down they were the only ones we called. You stay with those companies that do right by you.

Extremely pleased with the outcome of our project. From the beginning, Karen was great in providing us a walk-through and even came up with a great idea to utilize an existing deck. I knew the task would not be easy given the unusual shape of our backyard but the team was punctual and showed up each day-not very common if you have ever had labor intensive work done at your home.

I have found my one company that I will use for all future lawn related projects going forward.

Hill Horticulture Inc. just completed installation of Easy Turf on our front lawn and a small area in the back. My husband and I are extremely happy and impressed with the outcome of this project. We dealt with several employees of Hill Horticulture during this project and we are very impressed with each one of them. Our initial contact was with Karen Mitchell; she is extremely knowable, efficient, helpful and has been involved from day one through completion. The foreman of our job was on top of every issue he made certain every detail was done right and to our satisfaction. There were several hard working men installing our Easy Turn, each one of these gentlemen were professional, respectful, hard working, on time and the clean up was done daily leaving everything in great shape. My husband and I highly recommend Hill Horticulture for any and all lawn projects you are planning.

I've been a loyal customer for years and have spent a great deal of money with Hill Horticulture. The work they did was always great. However, their pricing has become so outrageously inflated that it pushed away my middle class family. The one-time clean up price was just barely higher than the bi-weekly price they quoted me. Instant red flag.

In my emails back and forth regarding lawn maintenance pricing, it was clear to me that the relationship we developed was one sided. They were more than happy to see me go. I'm disappointed. If you have the money, they'll be a great fit for you. If they perceive your job as a small one, be prepared to be quoted pricing that - honestly - feels offensive.

Karen Mitchell is the saving grace of this company. She is incredible.

Very rude and unprofessional! I asked for service he came out gave me an estimate yet said he couldn't do the work for 2 weeks. I had to have it done within that week and he was told that before coming out. Went with another company and he emails me over a month and a half later asking if I still needed the work done. I told him I did not yet did need to know what would be a permanent solution to my problem and he emails me back and says we'll good luck with that you can maybe put a piece of wood there tell whoever did the last work to do it. We are talking about someone removing mud and putting down new rocks. I was surprised and taken back from his reply. You emailed me looking for work a month and a half later.

I had Hill Horticulture design and install a fairly large landscape around a pool. I have nothing but compliments on the sales, project management, and general customer service oriented process. I had small scope increases that were handled quickly and thoroughly, and at a reasonable cost. The minor hiccups related to the availability of certain trees and plants, entirely out of their control, was an annoyance, however HH has already earmarked a week to finalize the project. Honestly, I'm getting compliments already by my neighbors as they walk past my fencing (when they see me), which will be temporary as the privacy hedges completely eliminate their view! The artificial turf is the way to go and just in time for stage 2 watering restrictions from SAWS!

Outstanding company!! From first inquiry to completed job, Karen and Hugo were always the consummate professionals. Sales process, project management and customer service were superb. I had seen their great work in our neighborhood and knew they were the company I wanted to install Easy Turf in our yard and rework our irrigation system. Crews promptly showed up at 8:30 AM to start and always cleaned up the yard work areas before leaving at 4:30 PM. Very efficient and dependable. A really hard working crew proficient in Easy Turf preparation and installation, landscaping ,and irrigation. One stop company for all of our landscaping needs!

Hill Horticulture removed our DIY xeriscaping attempt and replaced it with decomposed granite and a few islands of native plants. The open areas where the white pipes are will be filled with raised bed planter boxes that are being built now.

From the start, Hill was helpful and patient. I originally wanted to install artificial grass in a few areas but realized it was not in the budget. Nathan re-worked the project and whittled it down to what we could afford. There was a lot of back and forth conversations along the way and Nathan always followed up in a timely manner.

The job started and finished on time despite the weather’s attempts to derail things. Every employee Hill sent onsite was courteous and helpful.

Due to a scheduling conflict we couldn’t compete the last phase of filling the planter beds because they’re still being built. I did have to pay a small fee for canceling, but regardless everything was professionally handled, including a final visit by Nathan and Hugo to review the work and ensure I was satisfied.

I would recommend Hill for landscape projects and will use them again in the future. They are booked several months out right now, as are other contractors, so plan ahead if possible.

I am writing this honest review of the landscaping project that was performed by Hill Horticulture in August 2018. I don't immediately post reviews like some and if I give a 5-star rating it is with good reason. The entire crew at Hill Horticulture was outstanding and the project manager, Michael Muhl, was very professional and outstanding to work with. The customer service was excellent and responded quickly and effectively to any and all issues. They go that extra mile to take care of you. A special thanks goes out to Marc Moreno. We had easy turf installed in some of our backyard and it really turned out great and it is very pet friendly. We also had various plants and rock placed throughout the landscape and it looks great! I have posted a few photos of the landscape. We highly recommend this landscaping company to anyone!

Dennis’ crew helped clear out our very overgrown and weedy rock paths. They were quick, efficient, and professional. I highly recommend them for anyone’s landscaping project!

A great experience, my first time to hire landscapers and I will only use Dennis and his crew did everything I asked of them and with smiles!
Dennis, did the following with exceptional talent: installed pavers stone, installed gate for dog run, we have 3 new palm trees, 25 big and beautiful shrubs, and lots and lots of sod.
All this wouldn’t work without Dennis’s knowledge of irrigation systems. You got a problem or if you are spending too much on your water talk to Dennis, he can replace your old sprinkler heads with a new and more efficient head.

Lawn D.R. did a great job re-sloping my yard to help with drainage, trimming trees, and adding decorative rocks. Their work was high quality and efficient. Dennis was also great for communication. He texted reminders of when the project would be and gave notice when he was en route. Highly recommend!
