Constraction reviews in Southlake, Texas

My overall experience with Bloomfield Homes has been wonderful. I’ve been in my home in Midlothian for just over a year. I made a running list of things in my home that needed repairs and submitted all at once prior to the expiration of my warranty. David Franco, reached out to me within a day or two, did a walkthrough, contacted all necessary contractors for repairs, and followed up with me regarding each repair until all jobs were completed. A process that I assumed would be a headache and take weeks turned out to be smooth and fast. He followed up with me along the way ensuring things were scheduled and getting done. I appreciate the attention David gives to his job, making it a lot easier for me, as a new homeowner, to enjoy my new home.

Would not recommend Bloomfield for a home. We have had watering leaking in when it rains through the window and was just told to put fans on the wet spots to get it to dry and pop off some covers so it drains faster. We also have standing water and mud pits when it rains because of poor design and was told it was because of the neighbors dog. Not sure how the dog affects my side of the yard. The customer service to get things fixed has been awful. We had cracks “fixed” prior to our one year warranty ending only for them to paint over with a different shade and cracks to reappear. And after talking to neighbors we are lucky these are our only issues. I highly recommend using a different builder.
You can tell they don’t care by who they choose to reply to as well. -
I purchased a brand-new Bloomfield home in June 2024, and the experience after closing has been extremely disappointing.
Since moving in, the home has had ongoing electrical issues, including flickering lights, repeated light bulb failures (30+ bulbs), and damage to personal electronics. This is not normal for a new construction home.
Bloomfield and their electrician have been out more than a dozen times, yet the issue has never been permanently fixed. Each visit ends with the same explanations—usually blaming LED bulbs—with no lasting resolution.
What’s especially concerning is that this is not just my home. Multiple homeowners across different Bloomfield communities are dealing with similar electrical issues, which points to a larger problem that corporate leadership has failed to address.
The most frustrating part has been dealing with Bloomfield’s corporate warranty staff, specifically David Franco. Communication has been poor and repetitive—duplicate emails, apologies for delays, and promises of follow-up that never happen. Formal written notices and meetings have been ignored, and after months of waiting, there is still no inspection scheduled, no repair plan, and no ownership of the problem.
The sales process was smooth, but once issues surfaced, accountability disappeared. If you are considering Bloomfield Homes, pay close attention to how problems are handled after closing, because my experience with corporate warranty support has been unacceptable. -
We are homeowners in a Bloomfield Homes community (Homestead at Daniel Farms). Our issues began shortly after move-in in 2023 and have progressively worsened.
Since 2023, we have documented ongoing flickering lights and inconsistent power throughout the home. This included repeated light bulb burnouts, multiple GFCI failures, and a serious electrical panel/main breaker event that resulted in the breaker burning out. We were displaced from the home until the main breaker was replaced (photo documentation available). We were also without access to our garage for approximately two weeks due to a GFCI failure.
In 2024, the response from the third-party electrical contractor who originally installed the electrical system consisted primarily of changing light bulbs and replacing fixtures. However, bulb failures have continued.
As of 2026, we are still replacing light bulbs monthly due to repeated failures.
2025, we were required to replace two of the three HVAC motors, our sprinkler system motor, and multiple household electronics, including computers and televisions. All of these items were less than, or approximately, two years old at the time of replacement.
Oncor was contacted multiple times and advised us that the issue did not appear to be on the utility side.
In addition to the electrical issues, we have documented several roof openings that allowed active rainwater intrusion, along with poor insulation and other construction concerns. As we continued researching, we learned that similar issues have occurred in other homes and communities.
One of the photos included in this review is from another homeowner’s public review at a different Bloomfield Homes community (Mockingbird Heights). We have also spoken with other homeowners and HOA members who expressed concern upon learning we are not the only ones experiencing these problems.
We are nearly two years into ownership and are currently going through the RCLA process. We were informed early on that our issues were allegedly caused by everyday household equipment (such as an 1800-watt blow dryer or a vacuum), with suggested limitations on where such items could be used. We own the builder’s flagship model home.
Based on the scope and progression of failures we have experienced, a blower dryer they asked for to test the voltage caused this a blower dryer that was purchased a year after we moved in with receipt on hand caused the electrical problem and dead motors from HVAC, and other equipment failures that have occurred over time. We continue to seek proper resolution of these warranty issues.
After we declined the repurchase option and continued pursuing warranty repairs, Bloomfield Homes initiated legal proceedings seeking recovery of fees. That matter is ongoing. We remain focused on resolving the documented construction and warranty issues rather than relinquishing the home.
I urged anyone who purchased or purchases a home from Bloomfield documentation will be your only support email everything if you want a fighting chance against this builder.
Bloomfield Commuinties Thank you for speaking to me and I look forward to meeting you all.

Andy White is a trusted friend and he is extremely honest. Integrity is especially hard to find in this industry but this company has it in spades.

Honest, friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
Expert assessment of hail damages that needed repair. They did roof replacement, painting and repaired my badly damaged ramp.
Great service from beginning to end. Will definitely use them again. -
We used this company after our home was struck by lightning and caused a fire. As soon as I contacted them they jumped into action covering our roof to prevent more water damage. James Lozano was in contact with me every day to set things up and sometimes just to see how we were doing. All work was done in a very timely manner and done well. I would definitely recommend them!

South Lake Group replaced my roof after a large damaging hail storm. James and his crew were great to work with on this project. The crew were here early went straight to work and worked hard all day. The job was completed on time and was of great workmanship. They cleaned up everything beyond what most companies do. I have not found one nail or anything that would show they were here, but a great roof and quality of work. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs
their services. Honest hard working people!!!
Than you

Southlake Group replaced our roof. I had never dealt with a roof replacement. They were very responsive, explained everything to me and worked with the insurance company. In less than two weeks the roof was replaced. You would never had known they were there. They were very professional and kept me informed every step of the way. I would strongly recommend them!

Steve and the SLK group were great to work with in creating our backyard oasis and we couldn't be happier with the end result. They did a tremendous job, were very responsive, and delivered an amazing, quality product. They did the patio, stamped/stained concrete, sprinklers, fence, electrical, and hung fans with lighting as well. Thanks, SLK Group!

We hired Southlake Group to do an addition onto our original classroom building. They handled the project from start to finish (including engineering and drawings). As with any major project, we encountered some challenges along the way, but the good folks at SLG handled them quickly and professionally. We're extremely pleased with the work that was done, but also found everyone at SLG to be incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. We would certainly recommend them to anyone considering a construction project in the near future.

Chris,Eduardo and his brother of Carpet One did an excellent job of replacing and finishing our hardwood floors in our dining room after we had a slab leak. They were all very professional and thorough in their work. I highly recommend Carpet One for the great work they do.

We used this company to replace our floors when we had a pipe burst under our house that ruined our hardwood floors. They were fast and courteous, they coordinated with our insurance company and made everything as easy as possible. The flooring selections were excellent and the flooring that we chose is wonderful. We have several dogs and we’re able to find a flooring that helped keep the pet damage to a minimum while still looking stylish and elegant. Chris and his team were excellent! Would highly recommend them for your flooring needs.
