I just purchased two new split systems. Scott Heating and Cooling was the best priced and offered me an unmatched 10 year warranty on labor as well. The field supervisor, Joseph Gonzalez and his assistant Andre were total professionals and worked their tails off to get the units installed quickly. Their quality of work is unmatched and would recommend this company to anybody in El Paso who is looking for honest, top quality work. Thank you Scott and crew!!!!

My air conditioner was not cooling and it was on a Sunday. I called and Lola was super attentive a courteous. She was able to get a technician out here on a Sunday within two hours from my phone call, Hector, the technician was extremely friendly and mindful of my budget. I called other places and they were charging me up to $500 just to come out here, I understand, it’s a weekend; however Scott heating was extremely affordable. I highly recommend them and will definitely call them again when I have any issues with my air conditioner.

I just want to say how thankful I am for the service from Chris. My heater was not working properly and Chris came to my home to fix the problem. Not only did he fix the problem but also showed why it was occurring and how to prevent it. I have had other HVAC companies fix my utilities and have never gotten such a explanation like I did from Mr Chris. Absolutely would recommend to anyone looking for HVAC services! Thank you Chris for being great. Scott heating and cooling will be my go to from now on!

I would give ZERO stars if it were possible. I am genuinely concerned about the lack of action and accountability on behalf of your staff members. I had a technician come to my home on Monday; I was told that my unit was frozen. We were advised to call back in 24 hours, if we were unable to get our unit to work. I called on Wednesday and was told a technician would be out at my house on Thursday. The technician never showed up on Thursday at my appointment time of 3-6 pm. I called back and was advised that a technician would come to my home on today, Friday, August 9th from 3-6pm. No technician ever showed up. I called yet again and spoke to a rude after hour service representative who stated, "All I can do is take a message and send it to the technician." I was hoping to receive better service from your company given the fact that I've used your services in the past. Maybe this is a one-off situation of multiple instances of "dropping the ball;" however, I find it completely unacceptable. As a business, if you are unable to fulfill an appointment (service order), just say that. Be transparent, so the consumer can make the best decision for themselves. I hope you take this feedback into consideration, and I would like to talk to a manager from the company as soon as possible.

We have used Scott Heating and Cooling several years, purchased service contracts yearly for our maintenance had no problems. Until now, our AC went out on Saturday, I went on to their website to check their hours, and found that they offered 24 hour emergency service. So I called multiple times, the machine would pick up and state someone would be with us shortly, no one ever picked up. So when I saw on the website, a tab to request an appointment, filled out my name, phone number etc, and a brief description, the fan was working but no cooling, I requested first available appointment they would have. I assumed they would call me Monday, and I would be able to set up an appointment. Monday came no call, so I called them, explained our situation that I had gone on line and left our info thinking we would be in line for an appointment. The girl I spoke with was extremely rude, said they were completely booked till after the holiday weekend. I told her we had them service our unit in March and it was fine, I figured since we were customers that would help, it didn’t. I also explained that I had filled out a request for appointment on there website. Her response was “what website?we don’t do that”. I stated it was the same website that I used to call them. She basically argued with me that they don’t do appointments like that. I stated I knew that it was just a request for an appointment. I was willing to pay for after hours as we had company coming for the holiday weekend. But she didn’t even offer, so I told her that I would just find someone else. So needless to say, I didn’t appreciate she was implying I was lying about the website. I called another company, explained the situation, was told they were completely booked. They did however, offer me after hours service, stated it was more expensive but they could come out that day. I set up the appointment and the tech came a little after 5:00 pm, found our compressor had gone out. He discussed our options and we decided to purchase a new system, and since he was unable to repair our unit that day, he charged for just a regular call, which was very appreciated. He also had the salesman call us, gave us an estimate and did everything that Monday as well as setting up the installation. It’s very unfortunate, I had never had a bad experience with Scott Heating and Cooling, but when we really needed them, they offered no help and we were treated very poorly. We had purchased a service contract with them for this year, and have one visit left on it. But after this experience we are willing to eat the cost, as we won’t be using them in the future. So not only have they lost a customer, they lost a sale of a new system. All because of a rude office girl, who implied I didn’t know what I was talking about regarding their website, and had no intention of offering any service to us.
I would suggest she is in need of some customer service training, and some training regarding what is being offered on their websites.

PURCHASED THREE UNITS FROM THIS COMPANY AS WELL AS A TEN YEAR WARRANTY. EVERY SUMMER OUR A/C UNITS MALFUNCTION. GUESS WHAT, ONE OF MY UNITS WENT OUT AGAIN...BIG SURPRISE, RIGHT? UNFORTUNATELY, I DID NOT HAVE AN OPTION TO CALL ANOTHER COMPANY DUE TO THE WARRANTY.

I WAS ABLE TO SET UP A DIAGNOSTICS APPOINTMENT; MINUTES LATER, THE OFFICE CALLED STATING THEY ARE NO LONGER WORKING ON CERTAIN UNITS DESPITE CUSTOMER WARRANTIES.

DANNY, THE OFFICE MANAGER, SAID THEY ARE NO LONGER HONORING THEIR CUSTOMERS WARRANTIES AND TO "CALL SOMEONE ELSE" AND "TO SUE THE MANUFACTURER". WHAT? SO RIDICULOUS.

DANNY HAS THE UPMOST POOREST CUSTOMER SKILLS I HAVE EVER WITNESSED. HE HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN A POSITION OF MANAGEMENT. HE IS NON-SENSICAL. I GUESS THAT'S WHY HE ONLY AMOUNTED TO A HEATING AND COOLING MANAGER.

On March 26, 2025, Scott Heating and Coolng came to my house to inspect one of my A/C units. I called them because I had previously used them to do maintenance on my A/C units so I was hoping to be a returning customer. Both times that Scott Heating and Cooling has come to my house, the technicians have been very polite but I can’t say they have all been professional or ethical.

On the latter visit (3/26/25), Service Manager Christian Perez, who was the service technician who inspected my A/C unit. Mr. Perez informed me that I needed a new coil because of a (Freon) leak and the cost would be about $3200 to replace it (this was a verbal quote, however on the written quote Mr. Perez provided a quote of $2500). As Mr. Perez continued to conduct his inspection he then informed me the compressor would also need to be replaced and that would be an additional cost of approximately $4000. Mr. Perez explained the compressor was not engaging so it needed to be replaced. He further stated that he put a booster on the compressor and it turned on, but could not guarantee for how long it would work.

Soon afterwards, Mr. Perez stated that I would need to replace the whole A/C unit and quoted me a price of $12,100. I informed him that I would need to get other quotes. Mr. Perez asked what my hesitation was. I told him the price. Mr. Perez stated he wasn’t a sales man and didn’t receive any commissions for selling new units, but he could call his office and ask if they would discount the price by 8%, which would be a discount of approximately $1000. I again informed him that need to get other quotes. Mr. Perez then stated he could install a new A/C for $9500. I advised him I would have to think about it and specifically informed him that I would be calling other HVAC companies for quotes.

In short, I contacted two other companies and both companies stated the problem was a leak in the coil, which is what Mr. Perez initially stated to me. The quotes the other two companies gave me was $2500. All three companies mentioned / offered the 10-year warranty on the coil replacement.

The other two companies explained that by design A/C compressors will not turn when an A/C unit is low on Freon, hence why my compressor was not turning on. Once the coil was replaced and the A/C was recharged with Freon everything is working as it should.

The reason for the 1 star is because of how Scott Heating and Cooling, specifically Mr. Perez, lack of professionalism and unethical practices. The unethical tactics that Mr. Perez, the Service Manager (not a rookie), are disgraceful, disrespectful, dishonest, and disgusting.

Very satisfied with the customer service and the AC repair. Chad was the technician that came out on a Saturday. My 3 amp fuse kept popping on the AC circuit board. He found a part that connects to the main disconnect that had failed.

Professional, polite and was a wealth of information. Will definitely hire them for future service.

I highly recommend Scott Heating and Cooling! Christian communicated well, was on time, and only charged me $150 to come out and diagnose my AC on a Sunday morning! After having the misfortune of calling Ampire first, being told by the person answering the phone that they would "call me right back", and never receiving a call on a Saturday evening, I called Scott. I quickly received a call back back from Christian, who came out the next morning (Sunday) bright and early at 8:00 a.m, and only charged me $150. I will only be calling Scott Heating and Cooling going forward.

I want to thank Antwan and Sepy for their quick and efficient diagnosis and repair on my HVAC unit. We have had no air for a few days and are so happy to have all in working order again. Thank you to the two techs and Scotts for their great service

Wow As a military retiree now working for NASA. Scott heating &cooling is all about professionalism and you'll receive very detailed quality work. I'm so happy to say, Scott Heating and cooling met and exceeded my Expectations 100%. Like anyone would be I was nervous about the whole project of installing a mini split in my home theater that required cutting into the home. My home was built with 2 stand alone A/C- heating units. the theater room is huge and only has one vent(built 2012)REALLY? Well we had to do something to make a Room designed for comfort more enjoyable for what would be the point of having home theater room. Making the decision on who I would hire to do the install for a mini split would be very difficult being I only got one shot with whom ever I chose to get it right. Well I must say, after seeing scott doing some Charity work for a local housing projects here in El Paso I was truly overwhelmed and I didn't even need but one quote which was scott heating & cooling for my project. I most say, boy did I get it right going with scott. The Estimates are honest and their techs delivered top quality, professionalism and truly leaving your home very clean once the project is complete. They'll explain how everything will be done before they even start also informing you, your home will meet or exceed the code compliance within the city Also they'll inform you that you're getting a permit which also included a city inspector to sign off with a pass or failure inspection. Well everything passed without fail, Scott heating & cooling even give me a military discount. Now how respectful is that!! Now for how well scott heating & cooling is established, how many businesses well tell you no payment is required until you are completely satisfied with the work that was conducted within your home.. Thx Sam the A/C advisor and Bryant and your co-working just a overall outstanding incredible company.. even my outside exhaust was custom installed to Compliment our home. As being military Retired a company like scott heating & cooling made me proud to have served our wonderful nation and they always tell you thanks for serving and not only do they say it but they show it with the quality and their wonderful military discount. I was never pressured to overspend on things I didn't need. Infact the price was so nice that I chose to go with a Trane mini split and my must have was to be able to use the unit by way of wifi. To my surprise scott heating & cooling Comminated my request. Bottom line if you want it done right with a seal of approval from the city scott heating & cooling is a must have company for your projects. No need to try and get them to lower their price for they well already quote you a wonderful price that you'll love. Thx guys

The worst thing a family wants during a heat wave is for the HVAC unit to go out. Last Saturday we woke to a hot house and the air was not blowing cool at all. My sister in law recommended Scott and I immediately called and made an appointment for Monday morning between 0800 and 1100. Steven, the technician called me at approximately 0930 and told me he was twenty minutes away. Twenty minutes later Steven was knocking at my door. After some troubleshooting and quick diagnosis, Steven gave me the bad news and the good news. Long story short. Steven showed up by himself on Wednesday to install some large and intricate parts for my HVAC which were covered by warranty, thank God. As always when it comes to large repairs, on Monday I did some research and checked out the competitors and I am glad that I trusted Scott with these repairs. By noon on Wednesday the Air was blowing "cold" once again. I will definitely recommend Scott to friends and Family for future HVAC and plumbing needs.
p.s. Scott Management Team: Steven is a true asset to your company and if all of your employees are this well trained and knowledgeable your success is certain.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !
They came out did a diagnosis stating that a part needed to be replaced wanted to charge 1,000. I had a second opinion from another HVAC company they gave me a diagnosis report there was nothing wrong with the system just a dirty filter. I would not have them service your HVAC equipment ! They have multiple complaints of taking advantage of customers.

I'm retired on a limited income and I have mobility issues. I called with an issue, after there first visit they said no problems found but if you have any more issues call us so I did. After there second visit they said they were unable to find an issue so I had to wait for the AC to have issues when they visit. I lost all confidence in them and called a different AC company. The other guys fixed the issue u. 15 minutes. My opinion is either Incompatance or there business ethic is very bad and u don't recommend them

A little back story going into this review.
I had been looking into converting from evaporative to refrigerated cooling for close to 2 years. I had received quotes from many different companies, but never felt confident with them based on a plethora of different reasons. I stumbled upon Scott's and decided to contact them after thoroughly reading reviews and checking their website. Scott came out and his knowledge and experience was immediately evident. He thoroughly explained his recommendations based out our home's layout and provided 2 quotes later that day.
The decision was made and the crew was ready to work 2 days later. The install was smooth and completed in a day. This included removal of the previous heater and evap cooler, fully cleaning the duct system, replcaing every register, and fully relocating the down vent for better air flow as well as sealing the old location. Once the installation was complete, the crew adjusted every register to make sure that the airflow was evenly distributed around the entire home. A little clean up and the job was complete. Since the install, they have called a few times to see how everything is and to let them know if something comes up. This is a company that takes pride in it's work and will go above and beyond to make sure everything is done right and to the customer's satisfaction. If you're on the fence like I was, give Scott's a try. I think you'll be happy with the results.

This company installed my unit in 2017, they take care of it since, winter and summer. I have nothing but praise for the work they do, their courtesy and promptness. Yesterday I had the winter upkeep done by Chris who has taken care of the unit before and he is as knowledgeable as he is pleasant and courteous. I have some work that needs to be done in the summer with the pipeline on the roof but Chris assured me it can wait till then but will need to be done. I trust the company with my unit and trust their professional expertise and honesty. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

Over 2½ years ago, we purchased a top-of-the-line HVAC system from Scott’s Heating and Cooling. Since installation, one room in our house has never heated or cooled properly.

We have had this company out many times. Multiple technicians openly admitted they had never worked on this unit before and had to call others in. Every technician including a lead tech consistently said the same thing: “The airflow isn’t reaching that room.”

Ductwork was adjusted at one point, which helped slightly, but the issue was never resolved. At no time during these years did anyone blame insulation or mention an attic tent.

After years of frustration, we requested the owner come out. Within minutes of scanning the attic, he suddenly claimed the problem was our house and insulation, directly contradicting what his own technicians had been saying for years. When we asked why this diagnosis took 2½ years, the conversation became confrontational. We were laughed at, told we weren’t “getting into his wallet,” and the visit ended abruptly.

We never asked for free work. We asked for:
    • A system that works as sold in all rooms, or
    • Fair compensation for the square footage that does not benefit from the system

Since that visit, we have repeatedly requested copies of our invoices and service records. Despite being told we would receive them, the office has refused to provide documentation and continues to delay with promises that are never fulfilled.

If the company has been consistent and transparent, providing records should not be an issue.

This experience has been incredibly disappointing, especially given the amount of money spent and the time invested trying to resolve a problem that still exists. Proceed with caution.
