Black Diamond landscaped our yard—both front and back to conserve water and simplify maintenance. They are professional, truthful, helpful, and efficient. Their work is excellent and detail oriented. Would recommend them to anyone. Both Glover Nursery and Jordan Water Conservation people recommend them as “excellent”.

We had such a great experience working with Black Diamond Landscape and Lighting! From the very beginning of calling into the office to our project getting finished, was a stress free process. Steve was able to get us a rebate through the water savers program for doing a more xeriscape landscape.
We also worked with their construction company, Crown Point Construction, for the renovation of the interior of our home.

Extremely easy to work with. They were great communicators, friendly, informative, and I honest! Very happy with the work they did.

Steve and his crew were very professional, took the time to answer all of our questions, and did a great job overall with our pet safe turf, patio, siding, and chat rock!

I love my new yard! We did a major landscaping job replacing much of our lawn with nice looking rocks, chet, a cement pad, a second set of deck stairs leading to the hot tub, a hot tub and a small flagstone lower deck next to cement one where hot tub is.

I initiated the project with Steve at Black Diamond and worked very closely with him and Jake through entire project. Steve and Jake are the owners and take great pride in doing things right. I appreciated that they knew I was in charge not my husband!

Jeff Hansen who works with Glover Nursery and Black Diamond created the final design. I had no idea what I wanted and let him do his thing and I am thrilled with the result.

Julio lead the work crew and he has many years of experience in landscaping, is meticulous, gave us great ideas and followed through to the end.

My spouse and I were very impressed at how well the work crew worked together as well as their excellent work ethic. They were all pleasant to work with as well, always a pleasant "Good Morning." A nice touch.

I will suggest that if you get landscaping done in March or April while weather is still too cool for new grass seed to germinate properly plan on needing to have them come back and seed.

Heavy equipment and replacement of sprinkler system will tear up the grass in places. They seeded twice and we either didn't water enough or it got too hot too fast as much didn't come up. A tiny problem considering how pleased we are with job as a whole.

I highly recommend this company.

Jake was awesome to work with! He was very responsive and easy to work with. He walked into a bit of a disaster with our pool deck and coping being messed up by a different company. He came up with great ideas on how to repair and pricing was very reasonable. When there was a snag in the plans due to an issue left over from original contractor, he explained it and we agreed on a new project cost. He was very thoughtful and reasonable about the new cost and tried to stay within our budget. He and his team do quality work and they showed up early in the morning everyday until project was done.

Over the past 6 months as we renovated our pool deck we’ve had many issues with previous contractors due to poor quality work, ghosting us, not finishing the job, or charging too much, etc... This made it hard to hire someone to fix the issues and trust another contractor. However, Jake has left us with a great experience and we now have a contractor we can trust and who we know has our best interests in mind. He was honest and fair and very trustworthy. We did not have any concerns about Jake and his crew.

Our pool coping went from a disaster to something we are now proud to show-off! We will definitely use Black Diamond in the future and I highly recommend this company.

If my review could 0 stars I would !!! This company service was terrible left a hole in my backyard and a complete mess in the front. Dont! Waste your money nor time. I invested soooooo much money for my house to look stunning but after this company gave there "service " my house value went to shit!

We loved working with these guys. Jake, Julio and the rest of the crew worked their tails off to build a beautiful backyard for us. Any issues that came up were handled super quick and professionally. We can't recommend them enough, and everyone who comes over always asks for their info.

Every aspect of working with Black Diamond Landscaping was fantastic. Stephen, Julio, and the entire team were top of the line. Stephen was extremely communicative through every step of the process. He shows that he cares about your project just as much if not more than you do. He would make sure we were happy with the plants, their locations, the rock options, everything and took the time to walk us through it whenever we needed. Julio was on top of every little detail of our project and made sure to communicate to us any issues or even his own advice based on his years of experience. Most businesses you work with you either get a job done quickly with poor craftsmanship or done slowly with great craftsmanship. This is one of the only contractors and team we have worked with where we got both efficient and high quality work. It was amazing how much they would get done every day. You should expect to extend your budget because once you realize how easy it is to work with them you will just want to add more and more! Steve listened to what we desired and made several suggestions how our landscaping could be enhanced with small changes. Steve seemed to be in our heads and suggested improvements as the job progressed that coincided with items I envisioned as well. Julio was very good to work with and showed me some things we could do that would make the yard pop. Julio also spoke with us regarding maintaining the trees, shrubs, bushes, and plants. Antonio was a perfectionist and didn't complete an area until it was done completely and cleaned up. The whole team was very polite and worked hard to get the job completed. They were artists and performed their work as if they were sculpting a masterpiece. Looking forward to them coming in the spring to plant and lay the sod with the irrigation needed.

We utilized Black Diamond Landscaping for a major backyard renovation (large material removal, grading, drainage, turf tear out, in ground trampoline, landscape rock, irrigation work, and electrical work). We interviewed 5 landscapers and Black Diamond stood out for their personable attention to detail. And they actually had a detailed all encompassing bid. They stood by their quote and didn't have any add ons or incidentals.

Steve/Jake brought up things in their consultation that we did not hear from other landscapers which made me feel more confident in contracting with them for a major investment/overhaul to our house. Both Steve and Jake have a tremendous amount of experience in landscaping and electrical and you can be assured that they will do an excellent job. They have a very experienced crew and are extremely thorough where other landscapers are just looking for the next job.

They did a tremendous job and truly revitalized my backyard. Our kids absolutely love the yard and we feel like our house got quite a bit bigger since the project was finished. The pavers they did look incredible and there is a reason for that, they took their time. A lot of work went into prep and finishing. We really feel Black Diamond gave us an incredible value for the money we invested with them.

We will absolutely go back to them in the future and have been recommending them to friends/family in the area. Great company and people, can't go wrong with them.

Black Diamond was absolutely incredible and I'm recommending them to all my friends and family! Before and after photos show their amazing work but they're so much more than what you see.

I had met with two other landscape companies before someone recommended Black Diamond to me. The first company asked what my budget was before anything regarding the project. When I gave him a broad range he wanted me to tell him exactly how much I was willing to pay. When I wouldn't be specific, he disengaged mentally and acted completely uninterested while I talked about the project. (I'm a woman and am certain misogyny was the issue.) The second company was certainly better but I didn't leave our meeting excited about the project or ready to jump in. I was wary to meet yet another landscaper but since they were recommended, I did. Steve came out to my house and it was a completely different experience from the others. He listened intently to my ideas, saw my vision, and had great suggestions when I asked for advice. He answered all my questions and explained the process clearly. It was amazing to finally have someone that seemed just as excited about my project as me. I was thrilled to sign a contract with Black Diamond and get started.

My second meeting was with Jake, who would manage my project from start to finish. I had the same great experience with him as we talked through specifics and nailed down the details. Then the fun began. Jake and his team are absolutely amazing! They worked non-stop, day in and day out, and were so incredibly respectful and nice. I couldn't believe how they cleaned everything up, sweeping and tidying, every single night before they left. I was also blown away while they were laying the rock in the back yard, I noticed them placing each outline rock meticulously, then walking away a distance to look at it, then go back and move it an inch or two. I actually teared up knowing they were paying as much attention to detail as I would. Throughout the build, I was indecisive on a few things and changed my mind on several things. Jake was as an absolute saint and so patient while helping me make decisions and gracefully making changes I requested to work they had done exactly according to plan.

Beyond planting trees/bushes and laying rock, my project included replacement of the entire previously useless irrigation system all the way from the city pipes, creating a patio with wrap around steps, and moving and extending a fence. Black Diamond's technical skill with construction was invaluable.

I could go on forever with so mny incredible details I know wouldn't have happened with any other company. I absolutely cannot say enough about Black Diamond, Jake, and their entire team. I have them on speed dial to build my patio cover/pergola next, then light up my place. I recommend them 100%.

Not knowing any local landscapers, I did a lot of research before finding Black Diamond Landscaping. I saw their finished projects photos and realized how skilled and detail oriented they were. I started out with a basic budget, but soon after I kept changing adding features that we wanted. So expect to have your budget increase as you make major add-ons. Well worth it! Stephen and Jake are highly talented in creating just exactly what you want. Their skills and landscaping knowledge are amazing! Their whole crew were just as dedicated to make you happy and do the job right. I never heard their crew complaining or yelling. Often they were actually singing. They all treated us like their own family. Now this crew is working for You! Make sure to treat them with respect and treat them right. Offer them drinks and the use of your restroom. They are transforming your yard into your Paradise! On a Friday, I bought good pizza and hot wings for everyone, including the office. Treat everyone like you want to be treated. It goes a long ways. When they clean up, you have no idea that they were there. If they by chance damage something, which is bound to happen, they make sure to fix it and make it right. I would give Black Diamond Landscaping 10 Stars if I could. Thank you Steve, Jake and crew for such an incredible yard for us to enjoy.

We hired Black Diamond Landscaping & Lighting to put pavers, planter boxes and steps on our walkway and front courtyard. It was not a large project but it was a challenging one. Stephen, Julio and the whole crew did a remarkable job with prompt communication all through it, from the initial design to the completion of the project. The result was stunning and true to what we had envisioned. A special shoutout to Antonio, Jose and Esteban for their punctuality and hard work, and for being kind and patient despite my occasional hovering around.

Black diamond was awesome to work with! We got 3 bids and they were the most competitive for our pavers, fire pit, and in ground trampoline. They asked all the right questions along the way to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted. They started work when they said they would and exceeded our expectations in quality of work. I would definitely recommend!

Did not complete the work and the work that was done was poor. Topsoil was not installed under the lawn, the drainage, which was called out, was never installed. Combined with the damage done to the home during their backfilling process led to leaking inside the home and pooling in the lawn. Never finished the front of the home, never installed the required and line itemized bluetooth controller. Boulder wall failing after one winter. To top it off, they filed a frivolous lawsuit against me.

Despite unexpected setbacks, like a fence supply company sending the wrong fence and a hardscape supplier delivering the wrong block, they went above and beyond to ensure we received a stunning fence and a beautiful retaining wall.

Update for 2024 Project:

We brought Black Diamond back this year to complete the rest of our landscaping, and once again they delivered outstanding results. They built a stunning custom pergola and a fire pit area that quickly became our go-to hangout spot. The patio hardscaping is flawless, clean, durable, and beautifully laid out.

They also tackled a unique stormwater drainage request by diverting roof runoff into a front yard rain garden. It was a niche feature, but they handled it seamlessly, creating a system that not only manages water effectively but will also add a natural, attractive focal point to the front yard.

Another highlight was the play area for our kids. They installed 700 pounds of clean play sand in the sandbox and surrounded it with 12 depth inches depth of commercial-grade play mulch. The whole area meets commercial playground safety specs, giving us peace of mind and our kids a fantastic place to play.

From irrigation and chat path installation to the finishing landscaping details, every part of this project was completed with care, quality, and craftsmanship. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Black Diamond for any outdoor project.
