James just left my house after installing a new water heater. He was professional and super nice. It took him less than 2 hours to get it done. My washer was in the way, he moved it out of the way and noticed it needed new hose. He ran to Lowe’s and got a new set and replaced it at no cost, just for the materials. After he was done, he explained everything he did and what we needed to look out for. I will only use Half Price from here on out and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to replace their water heater. He was the third person I called for a quote and he had no hidden fees from the beginning. Other companies were literally charging double or triple what James charged us. Thank you again!

I’m very impressed with James for several reasons. He returned my call within 15 minutes and was able to come out the very next morning to help us. He quoted me the exact figure it would be which really is half the price of the big companies. He came 15 minutes early. He diagnosed the problem with my water heater and explained things to me well. Our house is nearly 100 years old and so has been retrofitted to squeeze our hot water heater and furnace into a very tight space. It turns out that our furnace’s gas and electrical lines were installed over and in front of the water heater making it impossible to extract and replace it without dismantling the furnace. James explained this and referred us to Cody from Heavenly heating and air who he said is very trustworthy and fair priced as well and could reconfigure the gas and electrical lines and duct work. I asked him how much we owed him for his service and he said nothing since he couldn’t fix it. He is so honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend James from Half Price hot water heaters!

My water heater started leaking, and I found James online. He was very responsive to all of my texts and questions. I had one other plumber that quoted me for a slightly lesser price and James matched it while providing superior service. He was very transparent and knowledgeable. He changed our configuration to be more efficient and fixed a few things that he discovered free of charge. I would definitely recommend him for future plumbing needs.

Half Price Water Heaters delivered! My water heater had been cracked and leaking for a while before we realized there was an issue. I had been shopping different companies for several days, but always felt that the quotes I was being given seemed to be far too high. I found this company through a Google search and reached out. James got back to me within an hour and was able to give me a quote that same day. The price I was given lived up to the company name.

The day of my install, James arrived on time, worked efficiently, and was completed in the 2 hour window he had estimated. He even went above an beyond in fixing an issue with my HVAC exhaust pipe at no additional cost. I will be keeping the info for this company for future reference. we had a 15 year old water heater. James installed a new unit for us for a fair price and did a great job. I asked if he would also give us a quote for a water softener. He said yes, and that he'd be happy to install one if we'd like but that we should test the water first. He tested the water, and told me our water wasn't hard enough for him to recommend a softener. I was so impressed by his honest. He did a fantastic job installing the water heater as well. Could not recommend more!

I am very glad I did a Google Search for water heater replacements in Salt Lake and read all of the other great reviews from other clients that have use Half Price Water Heaters. James and Half Price Water Heaters were fantastic and I will definitely use him again in the future! Before finding James, another company came out and said the water heater was completely broken and the whole thing needed to be replaced for $2500. After contacting James and describing the situation, he was confident that the water heater didn't need to be replaced and only needed a small repair. James was prompt, professional, and kept great communication (I live in Ohio so I couldn't meet him in person but he was great with communicating what was going on with me as the house owner as well as with my tenants). At the end of the day, contacting Half Price Water Heaters saved me $2400!

James was so great to work with! I called him 6 months ago and he helped me diagnose a bad gas valve, I opted to do the work myself and he did not even charge me for the help diagnosing! Turns out after 8 years I did indeed need a new water heater, so I gave James another call. He was quick to give me a call back and had me on the schedule for a replacement the next day! He was nice to chat with and had the old water heater out and new one installed in less than two hours. I was very impressed by his thorough efficient work and am happy that I now "know a guy" for all things water heater. I will be recommending James to all my friends.

Had a great experience working with James. He was super responsive when I reached out to him and was more up-front and transparent then the majority of other installers I talked to. He wasn't trying to sell me on other stuff like many others. The price was unbeatable, and the quality of work was top-notch. I'm always a little bit hesitant when going with the lowest price as often "you get what you pay for", but my experience with James was great and I feel like I got an amazing deal on high-quality work.

James is amazing to work with! He responded so quickly when i called about a leak i had. Amazing customer service and easily the best pricing you’ll find in Salt Lake. My water heater was able to hold on for a bit longer but when it decides to go out on us, we will be calling James to replace the unit.

I was somewhat skeptical but when Google reviews and KSL and talking with James I realized this guy is as billed. I had another company compromise two water heaters in a rental from a home warranty company and wouldnt fix them. Fortunatly I found James. Other main brands, Whipple and Black Diamond were over twice as much, They are great companies but James stands by his work, .Thank you again!

Lynn does an amazing job, he is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He was honest with me and very prompt to respond, I would recommend him to anyone!

The person on the phone was nice and waived the $59 dollar before 6pm service call fee. After 6pm its $99. They asked me to write this review. I just needed someone to hook up my new condensor fan motor for my ground level outdoor central air. Just a simple wire job. I had given up after some bad instructions and not being sure about the wires I was tracing for the new motor. I really didnt want to burn anything up trying, so I called All Hours. They were able to get a tech out same day.

He quoted $280 to wire my fan and compressor to the switch and capacitor. I denied service, but he did me a favor and said he would help me get started by putting wires in the right place. Long story SHORT he "plugged" my compressor onto the condensor coil and then plugged my fan into the capacitor like an extension cord into itself! Granted, he was using reference photos and notes to help me out, however, when he plugged the breaker back in, he used the sound of my compressor shorting out to try selling me a new AC system. I agreed to buy a new AC system knowing something wasnt right. Another guy was called to help me out.

The sales/supervisor as the first guy called him, saw that I had figured it out before he got to my house to set me up with a new $5000 to $10000 dollar AC system. When he got there, I told him what the last tech had done and that I was able to get everything running. This second tech was cool. He cleaned up the unused wires from the old fan and checked on a few things. He said my system still had life in it and that he didnt want me to think poorly of the company. I didnt pay anything in the end for their services.

AC systems are modular. There is no need to replace an entire system if you can change a few cheap parts. You dont need special tools unless you sprang a refrigerant leak or ACTUALLY need a new compressor. YouTube is a great way to learn how to fix things. Just use your brain like I should have. If you need professional help, always get second opinions.

Helped us with a water main replacement. Great work and it was done on time. They did a good job cleaning up after so our yard was not a mess. We had our water line repaired before by another company. Lynn investigated and found that replacing the line would solve the problem. He was the only company we talked to that recommended backfilling around the new pipe with sand. That made sense to us - not sure why no one else thought of it.

Would recommend these guys to anyone. Fast and courteous.

Lynn is a super nice guy, and proud father of a Disabled Vet, and offers a veteran discount. He quoted me the most honest price for the backflow valve I had to replace, due to my negligence in prepping for winter freeze. He called me personally to give me all options, and to let me know he was on his way etc. He even got the job done a day early thanks to the part coming sooner than expected. This is a great local small business, and now the only plumber I want helping me. If you are a veteran, or want to support the local folks, this is the place!!
