Utility Contractor reviews across the US
-
This company is built upon "YES." We needed a general contractor for a complicated fast pass project that could and would do all the scope not performed by our specialty subs, and they did. Work nights and weekends? YES, take the hard and ugly undefined scope items? YES, find crazy innovated solutions? YES! I have worked all over the world, and never have I met a better, more accomidating contractor, Russ, Rob, and their employees are the best. We would not have turned this project over on time without them.

I couldn’t believe how badly the butcher my neighbors beautiful Ginkgo tree. There was no rhyme or reason why they chopped the tree like they did and not to mention how they dropped a big branch on her mailbox on just picked it up and set it back on and left it like that and then walked all over in her flower beds like they didn’t care. When I asked them why they were cutting the tree in the manor they were a guy on the crew told me to mind my business. Absolute butcher and not arborists.

Negative stars!!! I parked my work truck next to a bunch of theirs and the whole area WREAKED of pee from them using the trucks to block them so they can pee right in the parking lot of a very nice housing area that faces a main road. My guy, get your workers a damn porta toilet!!! This behavior is just gross.
Also overheard more than once ICE joke being thrown around 👀 so gross. -
complete butchers clearing the lines for nyseg. leave rubble and mess all over. 2 chip trucks and they still leave majority of trees and limbs piled up along the sides

Cut a tree down in my yard, left half of it behind. When I called they refused to admit it was even their company contracted to do the work. Horrible company, horrible customer service. Sent 20 guys to do a 2 man job, set up cones for an hour, worked for 2 minutes, and left without finishing. Absolute garbage.

Property owners beware! This company (clearing the power lines for NYSEG) butchered a field on my property, cutting well outside of the right of way. Then, they drove their very large tracked vehicle with a bucket lift through a trout stream twice. They don't care about private property. Get ready for chaos and destruction if they are on your property.

This company accessed my backyard without any contact with us. Seems odd they will just enter your property without even knocking on your door. Not the way to respect others property.

This week our company experienced an unexpected power disruption due to an automobile/power line accident outside our building. We called Sturgeon Electric and they were extremely helpful and customer service oriented. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the Sturgeon Electric team for their great customer service and response. Although our call required after-hours work, they came and were tremendously helpful and efficient.
Sturgeon Electric’s quick, professional response was key to getting our business up and running after the unexpected power disruption we experienced. To the Sturgeon team: THANK YOU!!! We appreciate everything you do to make Utah a great place to live & do business! -
We came home one evening to a couple sturgeon trucks on our street. One was parked under our tree and as he drove away the truck was too tall and ripped a bunch of limbs off. My husband was very upset and ran out to stop them. They said the man would be right back and wasn't planning on leaving the limbs there and would clean them up. My husband commented on how they tore up our tree and that he would like someone to come trim the tree. That was two nights ago. This morning one of the men who was there knocked on our door to let me know he would be trimming the tree and handed me a $50 gift card to cabellas. He said he was sorry for the inconvenience and that they felt bad about the situation. He walked away and said "I hope you are able to take that and get you something nice." I was really touched and respected that this company would go to such lengths to right their wrong. We didn't use their service, but if I ever need an electrician you bet I'll be calling them.

I just barely got cut off by a driver for this company, in a merging lane where I had the right away. They didn't even bother to go into their lane to merge, instead came right into my lane making me go over into the shoulder on a major highway. I normally wouldn't be too upset about this, except for I had my 3-year-old daughter in the car with me at the time.

Another company that is all talk when it comes to safety. They talk like it is their priority, but it is only a priority if it is convenient for them. Regardless of how many times I brought up safety issues, nothing was done. I guess they don't mind losing employees as long as they can still make a profit. If you value safety avoid this company at all costs.

I live on 2550 West. This morning when I woke up I saw cones in the road and then I saw Sturgeon Electric pull up they were very polite professional so experience and very safety conscious I was glad they were there to do a good job. My dogs kept barking at them and I wanted to thank them for putting up with it. Thank you for having such a good team of men and women

One of their drivers cut across three lanes of traffic on the highway when I was doing about 60 and I nearly rear-ended him. He also had the balls to honk at ME. I have video and picture evidence. I figured I would go to the company before I go to the cops. Please respond. License plate 0413088, truck number 70781105

One of their contractors/employees displays horrible and erratic behavior when driving his company vehicle in Algood/Cookeville in the mornings. California tag 82722F4 and Atlas Field logo on the side. I see by the reviews they only employ people that cant drive though. Matches.
-
Another review for California plate 82722f4, dude drives like a maniac and almost caused 3 separate accidents in a 2 mile stretch of slow moving traffic. Truly skilled at being a godawful driver.
-
One of your drivers is seen on video intentionally crashing into a tesla. Do you plan on commenting on how you employ people that attempt murder on public roads?
-
Very unsafe
Employees in company vehicles have forced other cars off the road, causing themselves and others to crash on the interstate. Incident is captured on video form multiple angles. -
The project manager for the Celina area treated me as if I had no understanding of property rights or utility easements. Without any easement agreement on record, they authorized the complete removal of two mature trees — trees that were there long before the Oncor lines were ever installed. They never contacted the homeowner at any point. The only “notice” they provided was having our tenants sign that they would be out of the house, which is not the same as obtaining permission from the actual property owner.
Their justification was that the trees were “obstructing” the line, yet every neighbor on the same street had their trees trimmed into a simple V‑shape and left standing. The inconsistency is unbelievable and shows a complete lack of standard practice.
To make matters worse, the tree crew (Sequoia Tree Expert LLC) arrived unannounced, and none of the workers — aside from two supervisors — spoke English, making communication impossible while they were cutting down trees on private property. The entire experience was unprofessional, disrespectful, and handled with zero transparency or accountability.
Homeowners deserve far better than this. -
