Electrical reviews in Alexandria, Virginia

Very pleased with my service! Had a leak coming from shower valve and everything was replaced quickly. Reggie was professional and knowledgeable of his job and took the effort to fix an unrelated issue in the bathroom. Highly recommend Reggie for any plumbing services!

I have been a customer of Rush Companies for many years and have always had a positive experience with their workers. Jose was at my home July 8 to clear sink drains and he did a wonderful job. He was on time, explained the process. I will contact Rush again.

I have used Rush for almost 20 years for complicated plumbing and basic electrical ( so far). The key to that longevity is that when things don't go perfectly, they make good... they fix it. 95% of the time things go perfectly. Jason ( PLUMBING manager ) was here today, fixing a difficult issue as he said he would. It's fixed. I will continue to use Rush.

These guys are a bunch of idiots. First American Home Warrenty assigned them to fix my AC a month ago. After coming out, they had to call days later for me to take a picture of a part number that the technician didn't record. Then to find out two weeks later they didn't provide the model to the warranty company and once they finally came to install the part yesterday morning it was WRONG and they haven't provided the correct info for the right part to be ordered. They are incompetent and so is the warranty company for contracting with them. I can't say enough bad things about this company.

I know their name is "Rush Companies" but it is unacceptable to run red lights to get to work on time. Almost got T-boned this morning by a Rush Companies work van that went through an intersection off of Duke Street in Alexandria about 5 seconds after i got the green light, so they must've had red for 10 seconds and yellow before that. Absolutely insane and dangerous, and yes i have to deal with traffic on my commute as well but I'm not trying to kill anyone. I just want to get to and from work safe. Thats bad publicity to have idiots driving a van with your company name on it.

I was referred to Rush Companies by my trusted HVAC company. I was skeptical, however, after reading the flurry of bad reviews but went ahead and scheduled the service. And I was pleasantly surprised - so much so that I felt obligated to write a positive review in order to help the overall rating.
I scheduled them to diagnose two malfunctioning kitchen light fixtures. The technician showed up on time and was professional. He provided a diagnosis of the problem and was able to fix one of the fixtures that day, but had to order the part for the other which required a 2nd visit. The price paid for the 1st visit was about what I expected - 2 hours of charged labor and cost of the part. They called 2 business days later saying they had the part and could come out the following day to fix the other light fixture. Again, the technician (different technician) arrived on time and was professional. Unfortunately, the part was not successful in getting the fixture to work and this technician further diagnosed that the only option left is to replace the fixture. When I asked, "Ok, then how much do I owe you for today?" He replied with, "Nothing. We weren't able to resolve the issue so there's no additional charge. We'll probably just return the part back from where we ordered it. If you decided to replace the fixture, and we can come out to install for you." I was a bit surprised that the time spent (a little over an hour) was not charged, but happy nonetheless.
I'd probably hire this company again. -
I recommend using Rush Companies for plumbing.
Rush Companies fixed our hot water heater in issues!!
Ronnie (Ronny?) was nice, helpful and knowledgeable.
Rush Plumbing was the third contractor that our home warranty company assigned to us to diagnose a brand new hot water heater. The new heater was installed by another plumber from a different company who obviously didn't know what he was doing.
15 days later after a terrible experience with two other contractors, Rush Companies came to our rescue and fixed the water within two hours. -
In my opinion this company is not worth doing business with. They got dispatched by my warranty company to fix and AC issue. They diagnosed the issue and ordered some parts. In two weeks or so they installed the part and it did not fix the issue. They had to order another part, which took another couple of weeks to schedule them to return. I called a few times to check on status and they told me they would call back with updates but they did not. Finally i got a call from someone there demanding $500 out of pocket pre-payment for them to show up and finish the job. I asked them why i need to pay 500 out of pocket and I got two stories from two different people- first for duct work, than for something else. I offered them a deposit and payment in full after completion but they did not agree because "their customers are not paying their bills" In my opinion, perhaps there is a reason for it.
Enough is enough, after a month without AC in August, I called my warranty company and asked them to transfer the work to someone else. -
I’m signed up with a home warranty company called Old republic - had them for almost a year and first time using their services. They contracted out Rush plumbing for my garbage disposal not working . Before I called in the service request I always try to trouble shoot - in this case I put my hand in the disposal to look if anything was lodged in it . I reset the disposal, and I turned off and then on the electrical current to the unit. Nothing seemed to work. They came out when I was not at home - my husband was , apparently removed a spoon and reset the unit then left. We were away for the weekend and didn’t use the kitchen or garbage disposal until Monday when we realized it wasn’t functioning / draining . I called my home warranty company who spoke with them and they stated it was another issue and needed to charge another service fee FOR THE SAME UNIT. I went to read their reviews and apparently they have a habit of not fixing the issue and requiring multiple visits with multiple fees to charge . Please use someone else . These reviews are on point. Extremely frustrating .

Rush Companies inspected my water heater and determined that it was unsafe for use. Reggie was the technician and was knowledgeable, friendly, and timely. He shared with me his diagnosis and how it was determined. Reggie wrote up a detailed explanation to my home warranty company (First American Home Warranty), which resulted in approval for replacement and covered all but a few hundred dollars. During the install, Reggie was again on time and friendly. He and another technician completed the installation in under 1.5 hours and disposed on the tank. Reggie walked me through the error reporting mechanism on the tank and recommended the 5 year warranty through the water heater company. Rush Companies did a fantastic job and I strongly recommend them to anyone in the DC area.

I have had a service contract with Rush Companies on my heating and air conditioning units for almost 19 years. Over those years I did a lot of business with them. They installed both the central air conditioning and attic heat pump in my home. Did plumbing work for me on more than one occasion. I used to think they were a great company. However, the last time they did service on my air conditioning unit shortly afterwards it failed. They sent a service technician out who said a wire wasn't connected properly. The unit worked for about a week and failed again. The second time the technician said a wire was making improper contact. The unit failed again about a week later.
The first technician explicitly stated, in writing on the service receipt, the problem was caused by the previous maintenance. When asked both technicians said I owed nothing.
After the second failure I did a little research online and decided to look at the unit myself. It turned out there was an electrical connector that was loose. Once I tightened up the connector the problem went away.
After that I got a bill from Rush for the second service call. I called them and asked to talk to someone. I was told someone would call but no one did. About a month later I got another invoice. I sent them a letter explaining the situation and asked for someone to contact me. No one did. Today I received another invoice from them. This time with a service charge.
I am cancelling my service contract with Rush Companies and will no longer do business with them. I can't recommend them. I think they have some good technicians but their customer service is terrible. -
The technicians and their supervisor, Milton Pilaluisa, were very knowledgeable, and courteous. They arrived on time and finished the job without any hassle! We are very happy with the end result! I am sure we will call them for any of our future plans.

Excellent customer service and knowledge. Milton came and diagnosed a main breaker, he was super knowledgeable about this trade and the interaction was excellent. He took detailed notes and even explained what he was testing and used a lot of logic with his triage. Rush electric will be my new go-to for all electrical repairs. They are coming back with the right parts to do the repair correctly, and really looked out for the best interest of their customer.

Replaced and upgraded my panel to 200 amp service, including the grounding system, and also installed a ceiling fan (14 feet in the air). Crew did a great job! Very professional and friendly.

Superb! Milton came to my house and diagnosed the electrical issues quickly. He also discovered some serious safety issues that needed to be addressed. He was able to show me each problem and explain to me in laymen terms so that I could understand. He quickly built trust with me. At no point did he try to upsell me with anything. I highly recommend Milton and the Rush company. As a new home owner, we have found our “Go To” electrician and electrical company.

Oh Boy, MAD THANKS, Mr. Walter for your 8-19-25 visit resolving two plumbing issues in quick fashion, reasonably priced and applied professionalism. You're a credit to RUSH companies, and I appreciate you.
Another occasion 5-4-25 to witness the professionalism and expertise of Mr. Walter regarding a plumbing issue. Great work, reasonably priced and quick response time. Much obliged to Mr. Ronaldo as well. Many thanks.
A superb complement to our community, RUSH Companies can address a wide range of home issues both new install and repair. My prior review has not changed, but this update is to solidify just how great this company is. Not merely Splendid service, but a great team that I highly recommend. It's been a pleasure having RUSH co's to address HVAC and plumbing home issues for me going on 25 years. Ms. Lori, Mr. LJ, Mr. Reggie, Mr. Tim and the whole staff are a credit to our community, and the services they provide as a valued business concern are only a phone call away. -
On March 24, 2025 we had a bit of an electrical emergency and Rush was recommended to us. We had 2 different people, one to identify the issue, the other to execute solution. Both were awesome. Fixed the problem, cleaned up behind themselves, polite, personable, knowledgeable. Wonderful service. About to call them again to bid on some planned work at a new address.

Destiny was WONDERFUL! 2 large men with a different company had previously tried to move my washer dryer out of a closet in order to clean the dryer vent. They were not successful.
Destiny was able to move it all on her own! She also changed the washing machine hoses from rubber to braided steel. She did preventive maintenance on my HVAC unit as well. I called them on Monday and she was able to come out the next day. Mr. Rush is very lucky to have Destiny on his staff. She was professional, polite and so helpful. -
We were worried when we lost power in one part of one room, yet none of the circuit breakers had gone off. Electricians from Rush were here within an hour of our call, identified the problem, fixed it, and for a very reasonable price. Everyone was extremely pleasant and professional. Many thanks!

RushCompanies (electric) and Milton were amazing. Fast service, Milton even called an HVAC person to help get my heat running after the electrical issue was resolved. They went above and beyond. I will 100% recommend to everyone I know. Guys, again thank you!
