Amazing service. Mr. Juan came himself and proceeded to help replace the AC unit. I would call again.
-

They are shameless. They'll do the worst possible job. You'll be paying for their crappy workmanship for years to come until you finally have to just got your kitchen and start over.

I purchased my kitchen cabinets and installation at Home Depot in Dale City. Alward was the installer sent by Home Depot. I’ve been through multiple renovation projects, and this was by far the worst. I certainly won’t be doing any further renovations through either Home Depot or Alward. Here are just a few of the problems I experienced:
- When Alward’s crew damaged appliances that had been itemized to reinstall after the new cabinets were in, Alward refused to replace them.
- If I hadn’t been home watching and making corrections, some things would have been installed incorrectly – like a crooked cabinet on the wall.
- After the counter tops had been installed on the base cabinets, Alward sent a team back to finish the rest of the work and told me they’d be there until the job was finished. At the end of the first day, they called to say the team was being reassigned to a different project and they couldn’t say when they’d have a crew ready to complete my project.
- When things were done badly or damaged, Alward resisted making any corrections.
- When I contacted the store manager at Home Depot regarding problems I was having with Alward, the manager responded but never did anything – seemed more interested in protecting the relationship with Alward than making sure my project was completed satisfactorily. -
Came to me as one of Home Depot's installers for a glass shower door. Eagerly responded that they would do the job. After radio silence for 2 days I get one email saying, "Unfortunately we will not be able to install the shower door." I call them and they said they wouldn't do it because the tile work was done by another contractor? Really? 99.999% of shower tile has been done by someone other than Alward Construction. I guess business is good that they can use bogus excuses to turn down business. Avoid them and go elsewhere.

For a Bathtub Removal/Installation
Bathtub contractor bait and switch or Incompetent Home Depot department?
The contractor Alward Co, aka ConstruXure of Alexandria, VA., was scheduled through Home Depot to complete a removal and installation of a bathtub.
After arriving and surveying the work area, the contractor representative asked me to sign a change order for over a thousand dollars to have the tile removed and installed, saying this work wasn’t explicitly stated in the contract.
That’s over a thousand dollars extra to remove and install the bottom row of tile, and 3x3 foot section of tile on the side wall for a regular-sized bathtub.
She asked for my credit card and asked me to sign a change order hastily drawn on the original contract.
Home Depot wrote up the order very generally as “tub removal/install/debris removal” so I assumed the tile removal/install was included in the contract, since you need to remove tile in order to remove the bathtub.
I believed the contractor understood this when they accepted the contract, but apparently not.
Again, I’m not saying this was a bait and switch, but the contractor should’ve clarified with Home Depot what exactly it was we paid them to do before accepting the contract.
Home Depot is also to blame for not managing this work order correctly because they did not list the specific work I needed done and then price it accordingly.
In addition, the work lasted three days (because the company didn’t bring a tile cutter and other issues) and there was no follow-up afterward from the person who came with the change order about whether I was satisfied with the work.
Conclusion: Not much communication between Home Depot and Alward Co, and they were not prepared for the work. -
My company has been working with the Cleat team for several years and had a ton of success together. We have been consistently impressed by the team's professionalism, timeliness, and dedication to quality in their work.

Freedom Contractors LLC did an excellent job restoring our fence and installing a beautiful new gate. Their team was professional, responsive to feedback, and quick with design modifications. We appreciated their craftsmanship—from metal restoration to custom latch work—and are excited to treat the wood in a few months!

Hired 09.24.22 to repair fence. Repaired, but charged me an extra 150% from quote.
Fence gate failed after 1 month. Contacted, said he'd come, didn't. Finally came and repaired 1.5 months later.
Fence panel and gate fell down in 03.15.23. Contacted, said he'd come the next week. Didn't come or send a note explaining. Contacted again. He said he was too busy and that he'd come 04.15.23 but that he'd charge me if I took the panels down deliberately (?????). It's 04.17.23 and I still have a broken fence and no contact.
Based on poor quality work, multiple delays - without notification - on repairs and poor communication, I'd recommend against this contractor. I have tried so many times, but fences should stay up more than a month or 6 months.
My brother and I (non-professionals) put up the last one in 2003, and it lasted 19 years.
Don't hire if you want quality work.
26 April 2023: still no response. -
They did an incredible job repairing broken drywall, and literally did it for half the price and a quarter of the time that their competitors were offering. They were respectful and put good care into keeping the house clean while they worked.
