Home Services reviews in Alexandria, Virginia

Lowes is terrible at delivery, on a good day. This lowe's in particular will not deliver something but has the added bonus of never answering the phone. lowe's blames online orders for logistics failures, when you purchase from the store it's even worse because your order isn't associated with your account (even if you use the same email address). Terrible customer service

The store has one phone number. I have called for about 60 min, Tried every department and could not get anyone to pick up, I know they have employees because I ordered bathroom vanities two days ago. This is not new to me but I have never made a comment. Today I was just fed up.

It's very sad that I live in Maryland and have to cross the bridge for certain stores. The staff was amazing and very helpful. I didn't get the light fixture I wanted but was told that on April 29th 2 boxes are due. I wish that ALL Lowes could have the same training 😕

Zero stars. Worst customer service. If you have a delivery issue and need someone to answer the phone good luck. This has been a 7 day customer service nightmare riddled with wrong shipping address, delays and trying to get support for a return via freight. Save yourself and go somewhere else.

Overall, I like lowes over Home Depot.. But this Alexandria store has very poor inventory management.
Wasted over half an hour driving here for an item. And wasted another 90 minutes searching for the item and waiting for Manager (who was in a meeting), since employees couldn't locate it.
Worst customer service experience I had. -
No help at this store when needed.
No one picks up if you call this store.
Delivery service doesn't provide a courtesy call to confirm they’re on their way, to make sure someone is available for pick up, or to even inform you that they won’t be able to come.
FYI: Any review without comments are paid/fake reviews. -
Incompetent workers from general staffs to manager. Lowe has failed to train their staffs the basic knowledge on selling special order from another store.
I purchased a trailer on the of pickup the staff had forgotten to give me the title to the trailer and the DMV would not agree to registered the vehicle. I went back requesting for the title, I got it but then Lowe did not sign the title over my name which the DMV rejected again. Went back for the 3rd time asking them to sign however they refused due to “we do not carry trailer here, the store that does would have to sign it”. Keke and Nubia said I could to the Woodbridge store or contact the original seller to get it signed. Well, it’s not my responsibility, I refused.
I then suggested Nubia to ship the title to their Woodbridge store to do all the paper work and I would pick it up after a week. Nubia assured me she would notify me once she gets any updates.
Following that week, on Wednesday I called to check on the status. I was hung up twice, the third time I got a hold to Nubia. She said he has heard back from whoever and would call me back later that afternoon or tomorrow (which would fall on Thursday). I waited and and waited and never received a call back. I finally had enough and went to return the trailer on Saturday. Once Nubia saw me, she came up and asked to wait until Tuesday. I refused and made my return. Throughout the process I’ve not once received an apology. Do better. -
This store is very thinly staffed during weekdays. You have to wander around and hope to find someone. It's also impossible to get anyone on the phone for existing orders. I'm back with Home Depot.

I've been calling the customer service line for this store for 3 days to schedule a dishwasher install and there has never been an answer. And each time, after 30-40 minutes, they hang up on me. It's so aggravating. I'm cancelling the order for my dishwasher and just ordering through Costco. The wait there to schedule an install was 8 minutes for me.

Poorly staffed, items are never where they say they are. Don’t stand by their products. I just cancelled a $2k order because they wouldn’t exchange a damaged item. There’s a good Home Depot down the road. Go there instead.

Had an appointment for someone to come measure my kitchen floor for new tile. They gave me a 1pm to 5pm window so I took a half day off work. At about 5:15pm I got a call saying the Lowes representative would not be here until 6-7pm. He never showed up. No calls, nothing. I’m glad this happened because I can only imagine trying to deal with them once a project actually starts.

Unfortunately, everything we have bought from here lately has been damaged or didn't work as expected.
Examples: the garden soil we purchased was full of mold when we opened the bag same day. The black mulch immediately lost its stain after watering plants. -
This is about countertops through Lowe's from Granite Marble Express. Not one person has called me from the Installation department. I have called a total of 6 times and been spoken to rudely 3 times, hung up on twice and denied speaking to a manager. My negative experience with the order of these countertops and Lowe's customer service has become extremely stressful and costly (money and time). I've tried to offer a number of solutions such as:
1. get credit for the countertops and purchase a different one where there are no "variations". I can pay the difference in cost. (denied)
2. get refunded (denied)
3. get refunded and pay 20% restock fee (denied)
4. take a loss on the actual countertop and get refunded for the installation fee and $500 support beam. (denied)
The process has been terrible. They didn't show up, then they showed up on the wrong day, then they say in order to schedule the install we have to purchase a $500 support for the 2 inch overhang (this is after we created the design and paid for installation). If we didn't pay the $500 then they can't install the countertop because it's a warranty issue. What can you do at that point but pay for it? Then, they get to house and the countertop likes "kinda" like what I chose despite talking to Zaya about the DETAILS (is it matte, how large are the veins, the color of the veins, the details, is it off white, cream or what shade, are the cut lines very noticeable, etc?). I made sure the details, that we paid for, were confirmed. What showed up was a "Variation" (Zaya's words) of what we chose. It looks like a cheap knock off of the actual sample and it was cut incorrectly. My payment of $4752+$500 was not a "Variation" of the price listed for these items. I immediately rejected the order and spoke with Zaya on the situation (2x) and she behaved as if she had no idea what was going on. Side note, Lowe's installer (finally called) said , if I wanted them to deliver, but not install the countertops, I have to pay a $150 transport fee. I want nothing to do with that company and their countertop.
So here I am without money, a decent countertop, or any type of civil customer service. -
I recently made a lumber purchase and the price I was initially charged was higher than the listed price. When I brought this to the cashier's attention, he had me take a picture of the correct price and made he prove that I was charged incorrectly. In addition, this store has serious issues when it comes to customer service.

What customer service? For at least 30 minutes I couldn’t find anyone last night to help me. I walked both ends in the front of the store. Finally found a nice lady up front to call overhead but no one ever came. After 15-20 minutes of waiting I stopped someone who walked by. He didn’t seem very knowledgeable but I did get his help. The self-check out girl was helpful as was Hannah. Finding help in a specific department was beyond ridiculous. I’m sticking to Home Depot for in person shopping.

Their third party delivery company refused to deliver an appliance because they said it would not fit through the front door, despite my having an appliance of the same size removed from the same door the week before. They delivery people held a tape measure floating in midair and said the door was several inches smaller than it actually was. They refused to listen to me when I explained that it would fit if they tried, but they refused. Then the delivery company's management called me and called me a liar when I said something had been removed.
I called customer service and this store and they only contract with one delivery company and refused to right the situation and said they wouldn't deliver what I paid for. The disrespect and rudeness was incredible; they refused to do their jobs.
Don't shop here and expect them to deliver anything or help you in any way. -
It appears Loews is becoming more customer/purchaser friendly than Home Depot. In my search for a decent microwave, Home Depot had lesser known brands and almost nothing in popular brand products. Additionally, when we found a nearby worker in appliances department he immediately said, " I will be back in a minute" that turned into 15 minutes later. Another worker came over and assisted us for about 40 minutes with a kind & helpful manner. Finally, we decided to try Loews. It was different, as night and day. Several discounted Samsung microwaves were available right on the sales floor to sweep away. Check out had enough registers open with barely any wait. Workers were pleasant, helpful and customer friendly.

Bad business, I waited in the shore over 35 minutes before someone who assist me. Now that I've purchased a $1,000. item I don't know WHY the service delivery hasn't come & I'm been calling over a hour NO ONE will answer the phone. I will also have to drive down there from MD to find out the issue. No one will answer the phone BAD Business today!!!

This Lowe's truly has terrible customer service. I ordered an attic ladder that was missing parts and have cumulatively spent hours on hold with this store, never to get a hold of a real person. I've called at all sorts of hours, including opening, there is just never anyone available. I hope corporate sees this and realizes that the customer service is doing damage to Lowe's reputation and next time, I'll go to Home Depot.

I can't comprehend how this store is rated above a 2/5. The workers pretend you're invisible, if you stop them to ask a question they make it seem like it's a huge inconvenience, but aren't they are there to assist? I just need a refund on a product that they delivered broken. I was required to pay out of pocket for a repair person to verify it is actually broken and their fault. It took a month for them to answer and coordinate pick up. Now it's taken hours of my life trying to get them to refund my money on an item they already received back.
A man, not a gentleman, I finally got ahold of on a call argued with me and then threatened to "hang up on me". I spent over an hour on hold to speak to someone and now you're gonna threaten to hang up cause I'm requesting a refund that you don't think I am entitled? But you already picked up the item.
If you value your time, money, or sanity, go any where else. -
Beyond horrible. Crooked. Incompetent. Dishonest.
I ordered a bathroom vanity online to be delivered in DC. It came from the Alexandria store. I had to return the vanity the next day because it didn't work with my plumbing. The same people picked it up for return to the Alexandria store. Lowe's never acknowledged that they received the vanity and they never returned my money. No one at the store answers the phone. I've called Lowe's Customer Care five times. They keep telling me someone will call me. No one ever does. Customer Care intentionally gave me the wrong number for corporate headquarters. Lowe's stole $340 from me. I don't how to get my money back. Don't ever deal with this store, either directly or through an online purchase. Horrible. Wasted a huge amount of my time and money.
